Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Pinang Masak Abbreviated with JPM Pinang Masak (Journal of Community Service, Pinang Masak) is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Jambi (Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi, Universitas Jambi). It is in the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research applied results that have been achieved in the area of community services. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Pinang Masak (Journal of Community Service, Pinang Masak), contains various activities of UNJA community and even from other University community, in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. In the following year of publication, the journal is going to publish biannually (Mei and November). Any interested author could submit the manuscript following the submission guidelines. Please read these guidelines carefully. Authors who want to submit their manuscript to the editorial office of Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat, Pinang Masak (Indonesian Journal of Community Service, Pinang Masak) should obey the writing guidelines. If the manuscript submitted is not appropriate with the guidelines or written in a different format, it will be REJECTED by the editors before further review. Abstract

Online computer-based assessments will make it easier for teachers to conduct evaluations quickly and correctly. The time and costs required to prepare for exam activities can be reduced as effectively and minimally as possible. Online assessment applications that teachers can use include Socrative. Socrative software allows teachers to get immediate feedback from all students by downloading a free app to their phones. After the teacher formulates the question, the system will capture the student's answer and immediately produce graphs and statistics, which makes it easier for the teacher to evaluate the level of understanding of the concept being explained. This service aims to train teachers to use the Socrative application to make assessments in blended learning. The service activity is assessment training using Socrative for teachers in blended learning. The results of this service in the form of training show that teachers at MTs Laboratory have gained new insights regarding making assessments in blended learning and are very interested in implementing them in learning.

Abstract

Pengabdian pada masyarakat (PPM) menjadi salah satu Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yang dilaksanakan dosen. Kegiatan PPM program studi Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Universitas Jambi dilaksanakan dalam bentuk peningkatan kompetensi bagi masyarakat di SMAN 5 Muaro Jambi dalam bentuk pelatihan pembuatan bahan ajar Hypermedia Pop Up Digital. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para guru mata pelajaran dalam membuat referensi sumber belajar dalam menerapkan kurikulum merdeka. Kegiatan PPM dilaksanakan dengan metode presentasi, demonstrasi, diskusi dan kegiatan mandiri. Diharapkan kegiatan PPM yang dilaksanakan bermanfaat bagi guru dalam melaksanakan kurikulum merdeka sedangkan bagi dosen dapat mengembangkan dan membagikan hasil pemikiran dan penelitiannya kepada masyarakat (guru) melalui kegiatan PPM. Capaian kegiatan PPM ini berupa peningkatan kualitas pemahaman dan keterampilan para guru dalam membuat bahan ajar berupa Hypermedia Pop Up Digital dalam mengimplementasikan kurikulum merdeka. Berdasarkan hasil angket yang telah diberikan kepada peserta pelatihan diketahui bahwa 88% mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan terkait bahan ajar inovatif yang disampaikan dan 100% menyatakan kegiatan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan bermanfaat bagi guru dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Perubahan jaman yang serba menggunaan teknologi menuntut dunia pendidikan menyampaikan materi pembelajaran dengan media pembelajaran yang mudah diakses dan menarik. Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia sebagai calon guru dituntut untuk memiliki keterampilan dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang interaktif untuk menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang bermakna. Tujuan dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah melatih mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan multimedia interaktif berbasis aplikasi construct untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penggunaan teknologi. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan di ruang L-102 FKIP Universitas Jambi yang diikuti oleh 28 mahasiswa. Pelatihan pengembangan multimedia interaktif berbasis aplikasi construct ini terdiri dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap perencanaan meliputi analisis permasalahan, penentuan metode pelatihan dan persiapan materi pelatihan. Tahap pelaksanaan meliputi penyampaian materi pelatihan, pengembangan multimedia interaktif, pengumpulan karya. Tahap evaluasi untuk mengukur tingkat ketercapaian pelaksanaan dan memberikan masukan untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan yang lebih baik. Ketercapaian pelatihan pengembangan multimedia interaktif berbasis aplikasi construct berdasarkan respon dari 28 mahasiswa memiliki kriteria sangat baik dengan nilai sebesar 4,54.

Abstract

Arduino uno microcontroller is an open source based integrated circuit device that can be easily obtained, relatively cheap, accessible, and low power consumption. It can be applied to design practicum kits related to electronics and electricity. Our community service activity was holding a workshop on making practicum kits based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller for teachers at SMK Negeri 9 Muaro Jambi. The program was carried out through three stages, firstly, observation and survey, next was planning and preparation, and the last one was training. The themes of the chosen practicum kits were the LED turning-on program, distance measuring program, fire detection program, and temperature and humidity measurement. Each of the kits was equipped with the sets needed for practicum, such as Arduino Uno, jumper cables, LEDs, breadboard/protoboard, resistors, USB cables, sensors, etc. The practicum guide book contained the objectives of the practicum, tools and materials used, programming language commands to be uploaded, as well as work steps and evaluations. Workshop was carried out by a lecture about arduino uno microcontroller and demonstration of how to operate practicum kits. During the demonstration activity, the teachers were enthusiastically discussed and asked questions about Arduino Uno microcontroller as a practicum kit.

Abstract

Household organic waste is the largest contributor to total waste production. One effort that can be made to overcome problems caused by waste is through processing waste into eco-enzymes. Eco-enzyme is a multi-purpose liquid that can be used as a house cleaner, as well as as an effective natural fertilizer and pesticide. To make it easier to make eco-enzyme, it can be done using an eco-fermenter using simple technology. The eco-fermenter is designed using a semi-adiabatic principle with a volume of 60 liters, a kind of closed system that allows anaerobic fermentation to occur. Service activities were carried out in Mendalo Indah Village. Implementation of activities in the form of socialization and direct practice of making eco-enzyme using an eco-fermenter. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in residents' understanding about optimizing the use of organic waste into eco-enzymes by using an eco-fermenter.

Abstract

The need for clean water in Muara Sebapo Village remains a serious issue to this day. The water obtained by the community from dug wells or boreholes often appears yellow and has an unpleasant odor. This water typically has a high concentration of Fe3+ ions, causing the water to turn yellow and become odorous. On the other hand, Muara Sebapo Village has extensive oil palm plantations, which generate solid waste in the form of Empty Palm Fruit Bunches (EFB). Until now, this waste has been underutilized, and in some cases, it has been disposed of or burned. Therefore, efforts are needed to address this issue so that the community can access clean water and utilize waste wisely. In this program, outreach and education are conducted on how to treat well water using solid waste EFB effectively. EFB waste can be transformed into activated carbon, which can be used as a water purification medium in a water treatment unit in the plantation areas and the surrounding community. Activated carbon will act as an adsorbent capable of adsorbing metal ions and organic pollutants present in well water.
