Abstract

Kotagede Yogyakarta is a historical area left behind by the Islamic Mataram Kingdom.  Now that district developing into a residential area. This area has a legacy of Javanese spatial structure and spatial pattern known as the concept of "Catur Gatra Tunggal”. However, the condition of this area has experienced physical and functional degradation, which affects the character of the space, including the quality of the sound environment (soundscape). This study aims to identify the current soundscape conditions in the Catur Gatra Tunggal Kotagede area through the soundwalk method to explore the types of sounds that exist in the current location and how humans perceive these sounds. Data collection was carried out on weekday dan weekend in three time spans. This study contributes to soundscape research by applying perception-based methods to culturally significant urban heritage areas, revealing spatial-temporal variations in auditory experience. The main conclusion of this study shows that there are differences in the dominance of soundscape formation at each location and the perception of these sounds. The activities at the location also determine the type of sound heard and how participants feel it according to their respective locations. Keywords: Acoustic environment, Heritage urban space, Kotagede, Perceived affective quality, Soundscape, Soundwalk methode

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Indonesian contractors are facing pressure due to the domino effect of the Russia-Ukraine war. Which triggered a spike in commodity prices, including construction materials. High inflation and rising fuel prices apparently also had an impact on PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA). The BUMN works asked the owners to adjust the contract price. The government has given the green light regarding proposals for price adjustments or contract escalations for infrastructure projects running in the 2022 fiscal year. Based on the above background. This research is an in-depth study to dissect further the analysis of profit projections due to the influence of escalation carried out by the review of the Ameroro Dam Project, Southeast Sulawesi. The research strategy used is literature study and data analysis of the Cost Budget Plan (RAB) for the Ameroro Dam project in Southeast Sulawesi including: Bill of Quantity Data, (ii) Work Unit Price Analysis (AHSP) Data, (iii) Material Price List and (iv) Work Wage Price List. Then a projection of the adjustment value is carried out with projection i using the BPS price index value and projection ii using the Pertamina economic price index. The results from adjustments to projection I amounted to IDR 15,548,548,165 and projection II amounted to IDR 44,854,254,042. From the results of these adjustments, we obtained an increase in the projected contract value i of 2% from the contract value to IDR 1,016,698,604,665 and an increase in the projected contract value i of 4% from the contract value to IDR 1,046,004,310,542. Based on the projection data, there are differences in the adjusted price values. From this data it can be concluded that the index data used is closer to using Pertamina's economic index data.        Keywords: Escalation, Job Unit Price Analysis, Fuel Industry, Reinforced Steel

Abstract

ABSTRACTDevelopment in urban areas is indicated by the existence of infrastructure and facilities that support the lives of its people. This encourages urban areas to develop into centers of community activities and influences the use of space in the area (Bai et al., 2021). Based on Temanggung Regency Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Temanggung Regency Spatial Planning Plan (RTRW) for 2024-2044, the Parakan urban area is designated as one of the urban areas in Temanggung Regency which is a strategic node for the development of the Magelang-Temanggung corridor area. This is one of the factors that influences development and encourages population growth in the area. This population growth increases the need for housing as one of the basic human needs. The analysis method used in this study is quantitative analysis. The analysis carried out includes calculating population projections, calculating the backlog of housing needs, analyzing land availability, and spatial analysis in determining the location for housing needed in the planning year. The final results of the study show that the population will increase in 2043 with a total land area needed for settlements reaching 35,13 ha, while land availability until 2043 is 243,97 ha. This study contributes to spatial planning by integrating housing demand projections and land availability mapping, this approach is still rarely applied in spatial planning studies in an area. Keywords: housing needs, land availability, urban area ABSTRAKPerkembangan pada kawasan perkotaan diindikasikan dengan keberadaan prasarana dan sarana yang menunjang kehidupan masyarakatnya. Abstract

The Integration of the Mamminasata National Strategic Area (KSN), encompassing Maros, Gowa, Takalar, and Makassar City, significantly impacts productive rice fields, particularly in Maros Regency. This study evaluates the effects of KSN designation on rice fields by analyzing spatial planning policies, farmers perceptions of rice field protection, and changes in rice field area from 2007 to 2024 using Boolean overlay, interview and image interpretation. The research reveals that only 58.57% of rice fields complies to either KSN or spatial planning (RTRW), highlighting the need for spatial plan policy synchronization. Most farmers were landowners and cultivators over 50 years old, with limited interest among younger generations to continue farming. Farmers have heavily relied on agriculture as their primary livelihood, yet their awareness of the Protected Rice Field (LSD) policy remained low, especially on easily convertible lands. Majority of farmers supported rice field protection and agreed to LSD designation, hoping for assistance and incentives. This research found that rice field areas continued to decline due to urban expansion driven by population growth, infrastructure development, and national strategic projects, especially near Makassar City. Integrated policies are therefore essential to sustain agriculture and farmer welfare.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTo date, the relationship between corridor livability and the generation of activity in cultural heritage areas has rarely been examined empirically, particularly in the context of cities in Indonesia. Kota Tua Ampenan, one of the heritage areas in Mataram City, has the potential to become an urban tourism destination due to its Art Deco architecture. However, the decline in the area's vitality, reflected in the condition of neglected historic buildings and the lack of public space activities, indicates that the corridor's function as a catalyst for the area's vitality is not yet optimal. This study aims to analyze the influence of four livability factors-accessibility, land use, comfort and safety, and memorability-on activity generation in the Simpang Lima Corridor. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with multiple linear regression techniques using SPSS. The results show that the four factors collectively contribute 78% to activity generation (Adjusted R² = 0.78), with accessibility, comfort and safety being the dominant factors. These findings suggest that improving the livability quality of the corridor can effectively promote the reactivation of heritage areas. This study makes an important contribution to the development of a theoretical approach to livability-based design in historic urban corridors, which can serve as a strategic reference for revitalization efforts in old cities in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Keywords: Activity Generator, Corridor Design, Cultural Heritage Spaces, Livable Corridors, Pedestrian Ways.

Abstract

The Type A traditional market in Porong Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, still has facilities that do not meet standards, such as limited parking areas, unseparated entry and exit points, non-functional reweighing stations and security posts, and a lack of basic fascilities such as toilets, hand washing stations, and trash bins. This condition does not align with the provisions of Ministry of Home Affairs Regulation No. 21 of 2021 and SNI 8152:2021, which require the presence of various supporting facilities such as an administrative office, breastfeeding rooms, health rooms, places of worship, fire suppression systems, and waste and clean water treatment facilities. This study aims to evaluate the condition of market facilities based on these two regulations and formulate a restructuring strategy to improve market quality. The method used is quantitative descriptive with an Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) approach, involving 96 market visitor respondents. The results show that six sub-variables fall under the High Priority category: parking area, toilets, handwashing stations, trash bins, security posts, and vehicle access. These findings serve as the basis for formulating a market revitalization plan rooted in local wisdom, integrating the cultural elements of Batik Jetis as the regional identity. This study is expected to contribute to socio-cultural urban planning through a traditional market revitalization model that not only improves facility quality but also supports the preservation of local culture and promotes economic growth for the community in Sidoarjo Regency.

Abstract

Space-time fixity and flexibility of activity are essential for understanding how space-time constraints influence accessibility and mobility in daily life. Reducing these constraints helps improve quality of life and solve urban problems like traffic jams. Thus, these concepts are vital not only in academia but also in transportation and travel behavior studies. This research explores how activity type and mode choice influence space-time fixity. Descriptive statistic were used to profile respondents and their activities, while bivariate analysis looked at the relationship between mode choice and activity type in terms of space-time fixity. Specifically, mode choices—such as non-motorized, motorcycle, car, public transport, and ride-sourcing—and various out-of-home activities like travel, working/studying, socializing, and grocery shopping. Daily activity data from the Surakarta agglomeration area during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 was collected for this study. This study finds that space fixity occurs more often than time fixity, and activities' average level of space and time fixity is fairly flexible. The time fixity pattern for mode choices in out-of-home activities is similar for most activities, except socializing. In contrast, space fixity patterns differ among out-of- home activities. Working/studying outside the home shows the highest time and space fixity across all modes. Research indicates that a score of 6.0 on a 7-point Likert scale represents the highest space-time fixity. This score applies to those who mainly use public transport, with time fixity linked to travel activity and space fixity to out-of-home working/studying activity. The implications of these results on urban planning are discussed.

Abstract

ABSTRACTGlobal climate change and the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon have significantly impacted outdoor thermal comfort in urban environments, particularly in equatorial tropical cities such as Pontianak, Indonesia. This study evaluates the effectiveness of integrating Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles into the design of public open spaces, using the case of the Pangsuma Sports Complex in Pontianak. The research employs urban microclimate simulation through ENVI-met software to assess key parameters such as air temperature, humidity, and wind speed. The results demonstrate that WSUD-oriented urban design—incorporating water bodies, dense vegetation, and permeable materials—can effectively improve thermal comfort. Simulations indicate a reduction in ambient temperature from 25°C to 24°C, an increase in wind speed from 0.8 m/s to 1.35 m/s, and a decrease in humidity from 72.94% to 68.37%, achieving optimal thermal comfort based on national standards. These findings affirm WSUD as a responsive urban design strategy that addresses microclimatic discomfort while enhancing ecological sustainability, water resilience, and public well-being in water-based cities. This research underscores the critical role of climate-responsive urban design in shaping livable, adaptive, and sustainable public spaces for tropical urban futures. Keywords: Water-Sensitive Urban Design, Urban Microclimate, ENVI-met; Thermal comfort, Urban Heat Island Mitigation.

Abstract

Cities in Indonesia continue to grow alongside increasing urban populations and urbanisation. A city is considered metropolitan if it has a population of over one million and its economy is dominated by mixed activities such as industry, trade, and services. The development of Palembang into one of Indonesia's metropolitan cities is driven by significant population growth, urbanisation, and the expansion of industrial centres. This growth has led to urban challenges, including a rise in motorised vehicles, resulting in traffic congestion. Residents of Palembang rely on transportation to reach their daily activities, with one of the primary modes being the BRT Transmusi. Theoretically, since commuting is a daily activity, subjective well-being (SWB) is linked to the quality of the transportation mode used daily. User satisfaction is generally influenced by their experience with public transportation. Understanding the interplay between service quality and SWB is important for improving community quality of life. This study examines the interplay between public transport service quality attributes and Transmusi BRT users' SWB. The interplay is measured using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with 4 variables and 23 indicators tested. A sample of 384 respondents was used. The findings reveal that bus physical conditions, driver service quality, and service provider empathy significantly positively influence user satisfaction. Furthermore, user satisfaction positively impacts life satisfaction. Public transport service quality attributes also indirectly and significantly affect the life satisfaction of BRT Transmusi users. These findings provide comprehensive insights that can be utilised to enhance public transport services in Palembang.
