Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding has been shown to have many health benefits for infants, including protection against infection, chronic disease, and neonatal death. It is important for mothers who experience breastfeeding problems to seek support from a trained health care provider or lactation consultant. The purpose of this community service is to provide skills to health cadres to provide assistance in breastfeeding readiness for pregnant women. The community service method used is training for cadres through refreshing knowledge about lactation preparation and exclusive breastfeeding. The interactive lecture method and practice are carried out by roleplay. The cadres who participated were 8 cadres from the Sungai Jingah Health Center area. The results of the cadre assessment are one of the indicators of the achievement of the objectives of the training activities carried out. With the increasing knowledge of the cadres, cadres are expected to be able to provide assistance to pregnant women to prepare for breastfeeding so that they can help increase the success of breastfeeding. Overall, assistance on breastfeeding readiness since pregnancy plays an important role in ensuring that mothers and babies get maximum benefits from the breastfeeding process.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide an understanding of financial planning using AI. The potential integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in digital financial planning to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs. This service program aims to provide training to MSME players in using AI-based financial planning applications, with a focus on cash flow analysis, financial projections, and financing optimization. Through the implementation of this technology, it is expected that MSMEs can manage their finances more effectively, strengthen their position in the market, and increase competitiveness in the digital economy.

Abstract

This activity was carried out in Banjar Agung Udik Village, Tanggamus, Lampung. This activity aims to provide knowledge about the benefits of antioxidants from surrounding natural resources in order to increase awareness of the importance of health among the community to prevent degenerative diseases. Banjar Agung Udik village is an area rich in natural resources. Most of the people are vegetable and fruit farmers, gardeners, and raise fish in ponds to meet their daily needs. One of the weakness of the local community is that they still have limited knowledge about the importance of natural resources that are rich in antioxidants and are beneficial for health, namely as preventing degenerative diseases. Therefore, training on the benefits of antioxidants from surrounding natural resources is very necessary to increase awareness of the importance of health through preventing degenerative disease among the people of Banjar Agung Udik. With the addition of this training, the knowledge and insight of the Banjar Agung Udik village community regarding the introduction of natural resources with high oxidant content as a means of preventing degenerative disease has increased. Apart from that, people are able to explain the benefits of natural resources with high antioxidant content for preventing degenerative disease.

Abstract

In carrying out RW tasks related to data management. Both budget data, population data, and correspondence needs. It is a challenge to manage the data more effectively and efficiently by utilizing existing technology. This training aims to improve the ability of RW 08 Duri Pulo administrators, Gambir District, to use Microsoft Excel to help manage data at the RW level. The training includes basic functions in Excel, report data management, and how to use pivot tables for various needs. Excel data is also provided in the training that can be used as training material. This training is expected to provide an interesting and enjoyable experience in using Excel for tasks at the RW level. Along with the use of Excel to facilitate the work of RW 08 Duri Pulo officers, it is hoped that it will be able to improve the services RW administrators provide to the community.

Abstract

The community service program, namely Health Water Filters for Subsidized Housing Residents, aims to provide solutions to the problem of clean water availability. The problem of clean water availability is generally faced by residents in remote areas, especially the Arofatunna subsidized housing, Jalan Batu Ratna, Karangjoang District, North Balikpapan. Community service activities were carried out on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the home of one of the residents of the Arofatunna Housing. In this activity, counseling was provided on the importance of clean water and types of water filters. In addition, training was also carried out on making filters and how to install them. Filters made of beach sand, charcoal and gravel are used because they have the ability to filter and purify water and are economical. The filter installation uses PVC pipes and plastic drums because they are easy to obtain, economical and safe for the community. Residents were given detailed training on making water filters starting from the tools and materials needed to how to use and maintain water filters. At the end of the activity, free filters were distributed to residents who took part in the training. Based on the questionnaire results, it was found that 60% of participants knew the importance and impact of clean water on health, 70% of participants understood and were able to make water filters independently and 80% believed that the water filter improved water quality such as reducing turbidity and odor.

Abstract

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are common in Indonesia; this is also true in Karang Jati, Balikpapan, and East Borneo. Despite this, the villagers have little knowledge about prevention, despite being aware of the grave consequences that diseases can have on their well-being and social standing. This exercise aims to raise villagers' understanding of the need to prevent non-communicable diseases. Using NCD screening with information distribution, this activity has encouraged the villagers to become more aware of the condition and motivated them to take preventative action. Most of the villagers are at high risk of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), specifically hypertension, according to the screening results. These data have effectively supported the villagers in establishing NCD screening and management in their neighborhood through Pos Pembinaan Terpadu (Posbindu) PTM, a community-based NCD prevention and management activity.

Abstract

This community service was carried out in Ketapang Hamlet, Batu Putih Village, Sekotong District, where the youth organization and mothers are the partners in this activity. The purpose of this community service is to provide training and skills to young men and women of the youth organization so that they have the skills, knowledge and attitudes in entering the world of independent entrepreneurship and applying the knowledge gained in their lives. The method used in this service is to provide various types of training and product processing in an effort to utilize the results of the home-based agricultural land which aims for business independence in an effort to increase the community's economic income. The forms of training that we provide include making salted eggs using the soaking method without ash using only salt water, processing basic banana ingredients into light snacks with various flavors, making traditional cakes made from cassava and coconut so that they have an attractive taste and appearance. The results of this service are that training participant partners are able to implement the results of the training as provisions so that they can become entrepreneurs and have skills.

Abstract

Currently, there are individuals around us living with disabilities caused by accidents or other factors. People with disabilities generally require assistance from others, particularly for mobility or moving from one place to another. Although manual wheelchairs can provide a solution for mobility, they remain challenging to operate using hand power alone and often require external help for movement. To facilitate mobility for individuals with disabilities, especially wheelchair users, an electric drive system in the form of an electric motor is proposed as a solution. The development of a motorized electric wheelchair aims to enhance the mobility of individuals with physical disabilities. Members of the Indonesian Association of Persons with Disabilities (PPID) were selected as community service partners for this initiative. It is hoped that, in addition to supporting mobility, the electric wheelchair can also serve as a body support system, enabling users to continue engaging in productive activities while seated.  The implementation of this program began with interviews conducted with persons with disabilities and related partners to understand their needs, followed by the design, fabrication, and subsequent socialization and training on the use of the electric wheelchair for the target beneficiaries. The outcome of this effort is an electric wheelchair equipped with joystick controls. The wheelchair employs a rear-wheel drive system powered by two motors, each attached to a rear wheel, and a chain transmission system. Along with delivering the electric wheelchair to the PPID, this initiative aims to serve as a practical application of mechanical engineering knowledge, directly benefiting the community..

Abstract

Technological development is an important factor as a driver of growth and progress in a country. Technology today plays a very important role, especially in the field of education. One way to deal with this is utilizing technology, which can be done by starting to introduce technology to students at an early age through graphic design using the Canva app. In the environment of SMK Kesehatan Binatama, the use of technology in teaching activities has not been done effectively. Learning activities are still done normally without frequently using technology, so it is necessary to have Canva training as a form of technology adaptation and a means to channel the creativity of the students. The methods used are training methods that include material delivery, practice, and evaluation. Training activities run smoothly: each student can follow a whole range of activities from start to finish, and each student may create one graphic design independently.

Abstract

The Eco Maggot Workshop at SD Laboratorium UPI Purwakarta aimed to raise awareness among teachers and parents about the importance of managing food waste through the promotion of zero food waste practices and the introduction of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots as a solution for handling organic waste. This workshop was designed to enhance participants' understanding of the environmental impact of food waste and to offer innovative solutions for its management. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study research method, where data was collected through observation and interviews with workshop participants. The findings revealed that participants experienced increased awareness and motivation to implement zero food waste practices both in their schools and households. The use of maggots as an organic waste management solution was also perceived as effective by the participants.
