Abstract

This study aims to analyze the acceptance of Universitas Terbuka Tutors for the use of the Microsoft Teams application and the Learning Management System (LMS) for Webinar Tutorials (Tuweb) during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is explanatory. The population of this research is 416 tutors of UPBJJ Semarang Open University, while the research sample is 233 tutors in teaching group of Rembang, Blora, Pati, Kudus, Jepara, Demak, and Semarang. Research data was obtained from questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Descriptive quantitative was used to analyze the data. The finding shows the acceptance of Universitas Terbuka Tutors in the use of the Microsoft Teams application for Tuweb obtained an average of 89.77 in the totally acceptable category with a contribution of 67.5%. In addition, the acceptance of tutors in using the LMS application obtained an average of 88.04 in the category of totally acceptable with a contribution of 75.0% from other dimensions. The conclusion was that the tutors accepted the Microsoft Teams and LMS applications. Therefore, they can be implied for Tuweb activities at UPBJJT UT Semarang.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain the potential of schools in each marketing mix variable to build the image of the school in order to increase the number of students at SMP Kristen Krida Wacana Sragen. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. Collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model (interaction model). Data validation with source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the research show 1. Building the image of the school to increase the number of students is carried out in fellowship activities and meetings both in the church environment, Christian student associations, and Christian religious teacher meetings, by introducing the advantages of the school. Promotion through the distribution of brochures and banners, presentations at churches, door-to-door/visits to prospective students, and social media. 2. Weaknesses and obstacles in building a school's image include not having a planned and systematic program, not having a public relations department, every promotion is not well documented, not having a special promotion team, schools targeted for promotion being limited, promotional content lacks appeal, costs promotion is limited, human resources are limited, communication with the church is less intense, there is no new form of promotion, committee, and foundations are less actively involve the d in promotion, and teachers are less active in building an image with infectious messages. 3. The implications of the marketing mix in building the image are a) product in the form of superior choir extracurricular programs, b) price, maintaining current prices, strengthened in seeking sponsors and donors, c) Place, improving the environment/classroom where teaching and learning activities are conducted, d) promotion, planning good promotions, building partnerships, and looking for uniqueness or differentiation, e) people, improving performance, building communication, school image culture, forming a public relations department f) physical evidence, improving infrastructure in the form of environmental management, painting, making schools green, and improving the appearance of the front facing the highway g) Process, service improvement and implementation of supervision by the principal in a good and planned manner.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the problems in the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) at SMK Cor Jesu Malang. The areas of focus are the curriculum, facilities and infrastructure, and community relations. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation methods. The data were analyzed by collecting, condensing, presenting data, and finally drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is checked by using triangulation of sources and methods. The result of the study is that the implementation of the internal quality assurance system has been going well, but there are problems in 3 areas, which include curriculum, infrastructure, and public relations. The problem in the curriculum field is that teachers who come from the industry do not yet have the pedagogic ability to develop learning tools. The problem in the field of infrastructure is the lack of staff to manage school facilities. The problem related to the field of public relations is public opinion which tends to assume that vocational graduates are no better than high school graduates.

Abstract

Quality education is an absolute requirement to achieve national development goals; thus, education will produce superior and competitive human resources. Many government efforts improve the quality of education, among others, with regional autonomy or decentralization, which produces school-based management in the world of education. School-Based Management enables schools to be more independent through the granting of authority (autonomy), greater flexibility for schools in managing resources, and encouraging the participation of school members and the community to improve the quality of education. This research aims to determine how to implement school-based management to improve the quality of education in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through interviews and observation. The subjects in this study were principals, teachers, school committees, community leaders, and stakeholders. This data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and data validation (concluding). The results of the research findings indicate that the implementation of school-based management in improving the quality of education in elementary schools has been going well; the activeness of the school committee evidence this by providing suggestions/considerations, supporters, controllers, and mediators, the direct participation of parents in the planning and implementation of the program. In schools as well as management of curriculum and teaching programs, management of students, management of educators and education staff, and management of facilities and infrastructure are carried out well.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the evaluation of the soft skills-based superior school program at SMAN 1 Sidoarjo. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were principals, teachers, education staff, students, and all those involved in the soft skills-based superior school program at SMAN 1 Sidoarjo. The instruments of this research are interviews, observations, and documentation. The data findings were analyzed and presented in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results showed that the evaluation of the soft skills-based superior school program at SMAN 1 Sidoarjo was carried out by the internal school itself, and external parties, namely the education office, school supervisors, school committees, and parents/guardians. The results of the study explain that the evaluation is carried out through the following stages: (1) preparation of evaluation instruments; (2) evaluation by internal parties; (3) evaluation by external parties; (4) evaluation results; and (5) follow-up in the form of an improvement plan.

Abstract

As a supporting unit for achieving higher education quality, for many years the university library has been part of the scientific information ecosystem, and the final form of the university library has turned into a digital library. The purpose of this study is to reveal library management in supporting the quality of academic development in tertiary institutions, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of implementing library management which has been carried out so far in the digitalization era. This study uses a qualitative method. The main subjects of this study were library staff, students, and lecturers. Data collection techniques are through interviews and document analysis, while data validity is carried out through triangulation techniques. The results of the study show that college libraries have changed a lot, and the use of digital technology has become an option for the convenience of academic services. However, the management of digital libraries is still faced with the problem of the limited ability of managers in the field of information technology, low budget allocations, and decreased number of visitors. On the other hand, library operations have also not been able to guarantee digital data security.

Abstract

Principal leadership has an essential role in advancing learning activities in schools. This study aims to determine the role of the principal's leadership in realizing the Freedom of Learning in Christian Schools. This study conducted a literature study to collect materials from books, journals, articles, and other sources related to school principals' leadership in realizing Independent Learning in Christian schools. The results of the study indicate that the principal's leadership role is (1) Responsible for teaching, encouraging, and directing the school community, (2) Planning, mobilizing, coordinating, and synchronizing all school resources, (3) Providing support in the implementation of the independent program of activities. Learning by preparing, financing, and documenting, (4) Creating a conducive school organizational culture, (5) Providing motivation, and (6) Carrying out various supervision and control.

Abstract

Every nation faces increasingly complex challenges. Differences every day meet us. The purpose of this study is to learn from the implementation of multicultural education in four countries. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques. The data source comes from 12 English articles obtained from scopus.com with the keywords "Multicultural Indonesia", "Multicultural Singapore", "Multicultural Malaysia", and "Multicultural Thailand". The findings of this study are that multicultural implementation can be carried out through policies and policy practices that must be consistent; the use of real multiculturalism practices; the use of universal values of culture and religion that exist in their respective societies; the use of multicultural music, and the use of the Education curriculum. The results of this study can be used for discussion on the issue of more effective multicultural implementation

Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe the management of character education, the obstacles and drawbacks of character education management which is currently being carried out in schools. This research also describes the development of a character education management model in schools based on local cultural wisdom (Samin Tribe). This research is a research and development (RnD) with a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach which is limited to the product manufacturing stage. Data were collected using document study techniques, observation, and in-depth interviews. The Miles and Huberman model was used to analyze the data. The results of the study: 1) The management of character education that has been implemented in schools shows that the development of character education has been carried out in accordance with character education according to the Ministry of National Education and government regulations, but has not been maximized. This is due to several problems such as the lack of reading resources, model guidebooks on character education, the management of character education carried out in schools has not been in accordance with the four management functions, 2) Obstacle and shortcomings of character education management, namely the management function has not been maximized, the absence of team implementation, lack of coordination meetings, lack of integration into classroom-based approaches, school culture, and society, lack of teacher insight, limited sources of reading books and model guidebooks, 3) Model development which includes character education for the Samin Tribe, then developed through four management functions, namely planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating which are described through the character education management model in schools based on local cultural wisdom (Samin Tribe).

Abstract

The low quality of education has an impact on the future of every student. Therefore, the quality of education is very important for everyone who wants to achieve a hope and future and has the ability to compete with others. To achieve this, professional leaders are needed in the field of school leadership. Leadership is the strength and readiness of a person to be able to influence, motivate, embrace, move, and if necessary force other people so that people accept the influence that is carried out so as to shape the process of achieving the goals that have been set. the emergence of transformational leaders can change the paradigm of thinking so that every activity can be carried out together to improve the quality of education in accordance with the goals, vision, and mission of the school. Researchers try to position the advantages of the school principal's transformational leadership model in improving the quality of education. Transformational leadership is one of the right choices for school principals as leaders in implementing all their capabilities in improving the quality of education on an ongoing basis so that they can be used as role models for other school principals. The data analysis technique used by researchers in this study used qualitative descriptive data with assessments carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, then source triangulation was carried out to test the validity of the data obtained about transformational leadership in improving the quality of education. based on the results of research through interviews with the principal, six teachers, the education office, and the Deputy Regent it was concluded that the implementation of the transformational leadership model with visionary characteristics, motivation, stimulus, and individual considerations can improve teacher performance through training, workshops, seminars and holding individual and group meetings with school principals so as to improve the quality of education
