<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to identify and describe the sociology of literature in the collection of short stories Kang Maksum, in terms of content, theme, and purpose. The subject of this research is a collection of short stories Kang Maksum by A. Mustofa Bisri. This study uses descriptive and qualitative research method. This study collects data qualitatively, such as by interpretation, analysis, and evaluation. The results of the study shows that the content of the short story Kang Maksum by A. Mustofa Bisri in terms of the sociology of literature describes the social life that is actually experienced by the writer himself, namely A. Mustofa Bisri. Through the short stories, A. Mustofa Bisri wants to convey messages that readers should uphold the simplicity in life as their principle. Therefore, the social themes raised by Mustofa Bisri in his short stories become valuable lesson for readers as well as a depiction of the social life in certain community.]]>

<![CDATA[Literature is a reflection of the reality of people's lives that need to be understood and taken advantage of by many people. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study or analysis to take the benefits in literary works. The novel of Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk is a literary work that presents a person's life with society and highlights the character or nature of each actor. This study aims to interpret the characters and characterizations contained in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. Collecting data in this study using observation techniques and documentation techniques and the data analysis technique used reading technique. The results showed that the character in the novel, namely Rasus, had various characterizations. So, understanding the story in this novel, the reader will benefit from studying a person's character from his tone of voice in order to be able to understand situations and conditions in social life.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine whether there are differences in the ability to write short stories in students who take lessons using the Episodic Mapping strategy with students who take lessons without using the Episodic Mapping strategy. This study is also to determine the effectiveness of the Episodic Mapping strategy in learning to write short stories for twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Way Ratai Pesawaran in the academic year of 2018/2019. This research uses the type of classroom action research which is carried out in the form of a cycle. The population of this study were students of twelfth grade in SMA Negeri 2 Way Ratai Peswaran. Determination of the sample is using cluster random sampling technique. The reliability test was carried out using the Cronbach alpha coefficient formula. The calculation results show a reliability value of 0.853 which is greater than the coefficient value of 0.6. Before conducting data analysis, the normality test and homogeneity test were first carried out. The data analysis technique was carried out using the post-test and t-test scores. The results showed that the use of the episodic mapping strategy was effective in improving the ability to write short stories for class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Way Ratai Pesawaran. This can be seen from the calculations that have been made through the assessment rubric on the ability of students to compose short stories which show that during the first cycle of corrective action the score reached 577 (less) and at the second cycle of corrective action the score reached 669 (enough), and the third cycle achieved a score of 931 (good).]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the relationship between sentence structure mastery and writing interest with the ability to write exposition in class VIII SMPN 5 Bandar Lampung. This study uses correlational method; it means that data is collected after all the events happen. The test and questionnaire are chosen as the technique in taking the research data. Data analysis or hypothesis testing uses the product moment and multiple correlation coefficient formulas. The results of this study show that 1) there is a positive and significant relationship between sentence structure mastery and the ability to write exposition, indicated by the correlation coefficient of 0.772 and the coefficient of determination (r2) of .596 or 59.69%, 2) there is a positive and significant relationship between writing interest and expository writing ability as indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.713 and a coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.508 or 59.80%.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the effect of using illustrated story media and learning activities on the ability to write paragraphs of fifth grade students at SDN 2 Kotabumi Tengah. The method used in this paper uses the correlational method, meaning that data is collected after all the events in question take place. The techniques used in collecting research data are questionnaires, tests, and observations. Research data analysis techniques include requirements analysis test, statistical analysis, and research hypothesis testing techniques. The results of the study can be concluded that, (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between illustrated story media and the ability to write paragraphs, indicated by a correlation coefficient of 15.88, (2) there is a positive and significant relationship between learning activities and the ability to write paragraphs. indicated by a correlation coefficient of 13.70, (3) there is a positive and significant relationship between the influence of the use of illustrated story media and learning activities on the ability to write paragraphs which is indicated by a correlation coefficient of 16.74, (4) the interaction of students who have learning activities low grade students and taught using pictures have the highest average paragraph writing ability of 10.13.]]>

<![CDATA[The method used in this research is the correlational method. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between vocabulary mastery and writing ability, the relationship between reading habits and the writing ability, and the relationship between vocabulary mastery and reading habits with writing ability of the students. Data collection techniques in this study were test and non-test techniques as well as data analysis with statistical analysis. The results of this study are: 1) There is a positive and significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and writing ability of the students. The contribution given by mastery of vocabulary to writing ability is 23,329%; 2) There is a positive and significant relationship between reading habits and writing ability of the students. The contribution given by the variable of reading habits to writing ability is 68.724%; 3) There is a positive and significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and reading habits with writing ability of the students. The contribution given is 71.91%. These results provide information that the variables of vocabulary mastery and reading habits have a significant influence on writing ability.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading comprehension is an activity that should be mastered by the students in order to enrich their knowledge. There are several factors that influence students’ reading comprehension. This research aims to know the correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. The correlation between motivation and reading comprehension. Therefore, this research also aims to find the correlation between vocabulary mastery, motivation and students’ reading comprehension. This research represents descriptive quantitative research by using correlation method. The result of this research indicates that vocabulary correlates positively with reading comprehension. The motivation correlates positively with reading comprehension. Moreover, this study also finds that there is positive correlation between vocabulary, motivation and students’ reading comprehension. There are several ways that can be used to increase student’s reading comprehension such as; familiarize students to read a lot by understanding the contents of the reading text; creating a conducive learning situation in order to increase students’ motivation in reading. By reading a lot and understanding the reading text, it is hoped that students’ vocabulary mastery will increase.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the implementation of active learning in improving the ability to write exposition students of class VIII MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung, so this research can be used as a reference for one of the learning methods that can be used to improve learning achievement. The method used to achieve this goal, the researcher uses a data collection method where the methods used by researchers to collect data are observing the variables to be studied using interviews, tests, observations, and questionnaires. The results of the study can be concluded that using the jigsaw cooperative learning method can improve learning achievement in Indonesian material about exposition texts in class VIII students of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung in the 2019/2020 academic year. This can be proven from the pre-cycle of students who completed as many as 12 students with a percentage of completeness of 37.5%. The first cycle of students who completed increased to 20 students with a percentage of completeness of 62.5%. The target of classical completeness criteria is with a percentage of 85% achieved in cycle II with a completeness percentage of 100% with 32 students who complete. Pre-cycle to cycle I an increase of 25%, while the first cycle to cycle II an increase of 37.5%. This Classroom Action Research was declared successful.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the correlation of students’ vocabulary mastery and reading interest with the argumentation writing ability of VIII grade SMPN 14 Bandar Lampung. This research was conducted because of the reality on the ground that the ability to write arguments and mastery of vocabulary, as well as reading interest need to be developed. The method used in this research is correlational method. The techniques used in collecting research data are questionnaires and tests. Testing the research hypothesis using the correlation coefficient test, product moment and multiple correlation. Previously, the analysis prerequisite test was conducted, namely the normality and linearity tests of the data. The results of the study can be concluded that, (1) there is a positive and significant correlation of vocabulary mastery and argumentation writing ability which is indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.662 and a coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.438 or 43.8%, (2) there is a positive and significant correlation between reading interest and argumentative writing ability, indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.766 and a coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.587 or 58.7%, (3) there is a positive and significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading interest with writing ability argumentation shown by the correlation coefficient of 0.804 and the coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.646 or 64.6%.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the relationship between the mastery of diction, speaking interest and public speaking skill in the context of the students of the Vocational High School in Indonesia. The subjects of this study were the students of SMK Swadhipa 2 Natar, South Lampung, Indonesia. Researchers used the correlational method. The instruments used to collect research data were questionnaire and test. The hypothesis testing of this study was conducted using the product-moment correlation and multiple correlation formula. The results of the statistical test analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between the mastery of diction and the public speaking skill. The correlation between the students’ speaking interest and public speaking skill was also proven significant. Moreover, this research also found that there was a significant relationship between the mastery of diction, the speaking interest, and the public speaking skill of Vocational High School students.]]>
