Abstract

This article discusses the use of persuasive language in cosmetic advertisements on the TikTok application. Persuasion is a text that aims to invite or persuade others to take a certain action. In other words, Persuasion is used to convey a certain Intention so that the audience can carry out or accept the ideas of the author of the text. This means that persuasive writing has the ability to generate certain stimuli that are important to the author. In this study, the researcher chose a qualitative method to conduct research on the use of persuasive language in cosmetic advertisements on the TikTok application. In data collection, researchers used techniques such as capturing images, listening, and taking notes. The data used in this study were cosmetic advertisements viewed on the TikTok application which included persuasive techniques. In this study, researchers found two of the seven types of persuasive language. There are two techniques used, namely rationalization which explains the content, and the results after using cosmetics and suggestions are influencing and persuading others to accept a certain position without providing a basis for trust.

Abstract

This research was motivated by evaluating the effectiveness of Pancasila education learning in the last hour, considering that at this time students often experience a decrease in concentration and energy. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the allocation of Pancasila education learning time in the last hour on the discipline of students at SMK Negeri 2 Probolinggo. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with questionnaires, observation and documentation. The research samples were students of class X TPM 1, X TPM 4, . The results of the questionnaire also show that learning Pancasila Education is categorized as "effective" because Pancasila Education has basic values ​​that emphasize discipline, responsibility and compliance with rules, and is able to shape students' character. Through this learning, students are not only given an understanding of the material but also how to apply Pancasila values ​​in shaping student character. This subject can also be an alternative "tool" to maintain student learning discipline.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding children's language development as an indicator of their cognitive and social abilities. The study aims to analyze language acquisition in a 6-year-1-month-old child through Mean Length of Utterance (MLU) measurement, focusing on phonological, morphological, and syntactic aspects. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques including observation, recording, and conversation transcripts. The results show that the research subject has MLU values appropriate to their age development stage. They have good phonological ability in pronouncing almost all Indonesian phonemes, morphological mastery including basic affixes usage, and syntactic ability in forming compound sentences. This study concludes that MLU is an effective measurement tool for children's language acquisition and recommends using this method for monitoring language development in preschool-aged children.

Abstract

This research analyzes phonological disorder patterns in the pronunciation of the /r/ consonant among university students with rhotacism. The study focuses on Wardah Zahra, a 20-year-old student who has experienced difficulty pronouncing the /r/ consonant since childhood. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with interview techniques and pronunciation analysis, the research reveals consistent substitution patterns where the /r/ consonant is pronounced as /l/ and /w/, particularly in medial and final word positions. Phonetic and phonemic analysis uncovers pronunciation variations that are consistent across initial, medial, and final word positions. Psychological factors such as self-confidence also influence the development of pronunciation disorders. Research findings indicate that adult rhotacism patients develop adaptive communication strategies and exhibit relatively stable pronunciation patterns. Although there are variations in disorder severity, consistency is found in phonological substitution patterns. This research provides an in-depth understanding of phonological disorder characteristics in adult rhotacism patients and can serve as a foundation for developing more effective interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to enable researchers to describe the types of code mixing contained in the KKN Novel (Kuliah Kerja Ngebaper) created by Nurul Vidya Utama. The researcher conducted the study using a qualitative method accompanied by a qualitative descriptive approach. Meanwhile, the method of collecting information and data used a direct method in the form of dialogue analysis in the related novel. The researcher himself acted as the data collection instrument. In addition to the data notebook, the main instrument used in this study was the researcher himself. Through the results of the analysis obtained in the KKN novel (Kuliah Kerja Ngebaper) which included the combination of elements in the form of 25 words, the combination of elements in the form of 18 phrases, the combination of elements in the form of 8 basters, the combination of elements in the form of 1 repetition, and the combination of elements in the form of 1 idiom. Knowing that there are two types of code mixing, which are external and internal code mixing. English, Japanese, Mandarin, and Arabic are classified as external code mixing. While Betawi, Sundanese, and Dawan Amanuban languages are included in languages that experience code mixing. The code-mixing order itself can be divided into three, namely adjectives, nouns, and verbs. It is hoped that in the future researchers can be an alternative reference for subsequent research in the field of sociolinguistics, especially for campus studies of literary greeting codes.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the use of effective sentences in political reporting in the Tribun Lampung Newspaper. With a descriptive qualitative approach, this research aims to describe how the sentences in political news are structured and to what extent they meet the rules of effective sentences. Research data uses reading, listening and note-taking techniques in various political articles published in the Tribun Lampung Newspaper. The results of the analysis show that most of the political news studied has implemented the principles of effective sentences well. Elements such as structural similarity, parallelism, decisiveness, economy, accuracy, coherence and logic can generally be found in these news sentences. This shows the Tribun Lampung Newspaper's efforts to present information that is clear, concise and easy to understand for readers. However, this research also identified several discrepancies with the rules of effective sentences in several news stories. Some sentences were found to contain unnecessary or convoluted words, thereby reducing the effectiveness of conveying the message. Apart from that, there are also sentences that are ambiguous or give rise to multiple interpretations, which can confuse readers. These findings indicate that although in general the Tribun Lampung Newspaper has made efforts to use good and correct language in political reporting, there is still room for improvement. It is hoped that this research can contribute to improving the quality of political news writing, both in the Tribun Lampung Newspaper and other mass media.

Abstract

This research examines the psychological aspects of language in the use of language in the character Hendra in the film My Idiot Brother. This research aims to analyze how the language of an individual with severe intellectual disabilities, especially idioty, is depicted through Hendra's speech patterns. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, by analyzing Hendra's verbal expressions in the film. Data collection was carried out by watching, recording and noting relevant speech examples from films. Research findings indicate that Hendra's language use reflects significant challenges in understanding complex instructions, producing clear speech, and interacting socially, which is consistent with characteristics of severe intellectual disability. This research contributes to understanding language difficulties in individuals with severe cognitive impairment, especially in relation to their ability to communicate and process information. The implications of this research are relevant for educational and therapeutic practice for individuals with similar conditions, emphasizing the importance of providing a supportive environment to meet their communication needs.

Abstract

The lyrics of "Bertaut" by Nadin Amizah are rich with stylistic devices that deepen its emotional resonance and meaning. This study seeks to analyze the figurative language present in the song, highlighting its significance as a work of musical art. The song employs a variety of linguistic elements that powerfully transmit profound emotions to its audience. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach and content analysis methods, this research aims to identify and interpret the figurative language within the lyrics. The findings indicate that Nadin Amizah skillfully incorporates a range of figurative techniques—such as personification, metaphor, hyperbole, and repetition—which enhance both the emotional tone and overall meaning of the song. These stylistic elements not only enrich the lyrics but also reflect the emotional bond between the writer and her mother, which serves as the song's central theme. Ultimately, this study sheds light on how figurative language can effectively convey powerful messages and foster emotional connections in musical compositions.

Abstract

This research is entitled Application of Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model in Improving Writing Skills in Indonesian Language Learning with a focus on the application of project-based learning methods in improving students' writing skills. The Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is a learning approach that emphasizes the active involvement of students through real projects that are relevant to everyday life. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the application of PjBL in improving students' writing skills in Indonesian language learning. The research method used is qualitative with a literature review approach, analyzing ten scientific articles published in the period 2022 to 2024. The results showed that the implementation of PjBL significantly improved students' writing skills, as well as encouraged the development of creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. In addition, students reported increased motivation and engagement in the learning process. Nonetheless, challenges in implementing PjBL, such as the need for thorough preparation from teachers and effective time management, need to be considered. The conclusion of this study confirms that PjBL is an effective method to improve students' writing skills, and can be integrated in Indonesian language learning to create a more interesting and meaningful learning experience. The results of this research emphasize that PjBL is an effective, innovative and relevant learning method for equipping students with 21st century skills.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of stimulating creativity in children aged 4-5 years through the use of picture story books. Creativity is an important key in developing the potential of early childhood. This creativity can be increased through interesting and interactive learning media. The research method used is classroom action research with qualitative research. Data was obtained through observation and interviews with one of the teachers who teaches at an early childhood education institution. The research results show that the use of picture story books in learning can stimulate children's imagination, creative thinking abilities, encourage children's curiosity, and enrich their vocabulary. Apart from that, the activity of reading together with the assistance of a teacher or parent has a positive impact on children's social interactions. Thus, picture story books can be an effective alternative medium for stimulating the creativity of early childhood children aged 4-5 years.
