Abstract

Bird pest attacks are one of the main causes of declining rice productivity in Deli Serdang Regency, especially during the grain ripening phase. This study develops the smartRicefield innovation, namely an automated bird pest repellent system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) using the YOLO11m image detection model. This study begins with collecting bird image datasets in rice fields collected from field image capture or dare sources, then labeled using the YOLO format, and wrapped with augmentation techniques to increase shape diversity. The YOLO11m model consisting of 125 image layers and 20,030,803 parameters with a complexity of 67.6 GFLOPs drilled for the next 100 epochs. The best model in the 86th epoch achieved 100% precision, 83.2% recall, mAP@0.5 of 86.3%, and mAP@0.5–0.95 of 69.3%. The Confusion Matrix Analysis showed good bird detection performance, but a high false positive rate in the background of the trigger image caused false triggers in the object testing. The system was tested in Deli Serdang rice fields with a detection latency of less than 1 second and an expulsion effectiveness of 90% at an effective distance of 10 meters. These results indicate that the integration of AI and IoT in Smart Ricefield is able to provide an effective real-time solution for bird pest mitigation, although improvements are still needed in dataset variations and expulsion mechanisms to increase the system's long-term resilience to all types of bird pests in the rice field environment.

Abstract

Indonesia’s long historical ties with the Netherlands have produced a diverse diaspora whose organizations shape cross-border relations, yet their concrete roles and mechanisms remain underexplored. This study asks how the Indonesian Diaspora Network-Netherlands (IDN-NL) helps form and sustain a transnational social space linking communities in the Netherlands with Indonesia. Using a library-based design, it analyzes documentary sources from 2013 to 2025, including organizational materials and secondary studies, to map actors, programs, events, and policy linkages. The findings show that IDN-NL coordinates thematic task forces in arts and culture, culinary, health, environment and sustainability, liveable cities, tourism, migrant workers, and My Roots. These units organize cultural-culinary events and community associations that enable regular interaction, support Indonesian business activity and remittances that reinforce economic ties, use digital platforms for routine coordination, and pursue advocacy on issues such as visa facilities and dual citizenship. Taken together, these activities integrate event-based nodes, online coordination, and policy support, transforming dispersed initiatives into a more organized and durable transnational social space. The article contributes an empirically grounded account of how a diaspora organization functions as an institutional connector, while indicating areas for improved documentation and capacity building in future research.

Abstract

The library management system at SMAN 1 Abung Pekurun remains conventional, leading to several challenges such as inefficiency in book searching, vulnerability to data entry errors, and limited accessibility of information. This study aims to design and develop a web-based digital library system (E-Library) to address these problems. The system development method applied follows the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using the Waterfall model, which includes the stages of requirement analysis, system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML), implementation with PHP and MySQL, and functional testing. The results demonstrate that the developed E-Library system is fully functional, having successfully passed 100% of 25 Black Box Testing scenarios. The system implementation effectively transformed the library’s manual operations into a digital platform, significantly improving service time efficiency, data accuracy, and information accessibility for users, while simplifying reporting processes for library staff and school management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and measure the influence of Unemployment and Poverty on Economic Growth in Ambon City, both in the context of short-term and long-term relationships. Methods: This study uses a quantitative approach with time series data for the period 2009–2023 in Ambon City. The analytical method chosen is the Error Correction Model (ECM), which is effective for testing dynamic relationships between stationary variables in the first differential (I(1)). The dependent variable is Economic Growth (GROWTH), and the independent variables are Unemployment (UNEMP) and Poverty (POVERTY). Key Results (Initial Estimates): All variables are proven to be non-stationary at the level, but stationary in the first differential. Cointegration is found between the variables, confirming the existence of a long-run equilibrium relationship, thus validly applying the ECM model. In the short run, the initial ECM estimation results indicate that: Changes in unemployment (D(UNEMP)) have a negative and significant effect at the 10% level on economic growth. Changes in poverty (D(POVERTY)) also show a negative relationship, although not statistically significant. The Error Correction Coefficient (ECT) in the ECM model indicates the existence of an adjustment mechanism toward long-run equilibrium.  Implications/Novelty: The use of the ECM model provides methodological novelty, enabling richer analysis by separating short-run (annual fluctuations) and long-run (equilibrium relationship) influences, particularly in the context of local policy in Ambon City.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven significant changes in the operational management of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. In the context of the batik industry, digital transformation is a strategic step to improve cost efficiency and maintain competitiveness in the creative economy era. This study aims to analyze the digital transformation process and its impact on operational efficiency in Batik MSMEs in Cirebon. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation of five batik MSME players in the Trusmi area. The results showed that digital transformation was carried out through three main aspects: marketing digitalization, financial digitalization, and production digitalization. The implementation of digital technology is proven to reduce operational costs by 25-35%, accelerate cash flow, and increase the transparency of financial records. However, barriers are still encountered in digital literacy, organizational culture resistance, and infrastructure limitations. This research confirms that the success of MSMEs' digital transformation depends not only on technology, but also on the readiness of human resources and support related to the digital business ecosystem.
