Abstract

The United States exerts a substantial influence on the global economy. Its trade policies not only directly affect its trading partners but also generate broader multiplier effects across other national economies. This study examines the impact of the reciprocal tariff policy announced by the United States government in February 2025 on stock and gold prices in Indonesia. Using the Three-Stage Least Squares (3SLS) method, the results show that the tariff policy significantly influences both variables. Gold prices respond positively two weeks after the tariff announcement, while stock prices react negatively in the same week, rebound in the following week, and decline again in the second week. Furthermore, changes in gold prices significantly affect stock prices at the fourth lag, whereas changes in stock prices have no significant effect on gold prices. These empirical findings are consistent with the Efficient Market Hypothesis, Rational Expectations Theory, the Hedging and Safe Haven Asset Hypothesis, and the Asset Substitution Hypothesis. Overall, the study demonstrates that Indonesian investors respond rationally to global policy changes in line with financial market dynamics.

Abstract

Migrant students often encounter substantial challenges when adapting to new academic and social environments, including cultural differences, language barriers, and unfamiliar social norms. These obstacles may hinder their psychological and social adjustment, making peer social support an essential factor in facilitating their adaptation. This study aims to examine the relationship between peer social support and self-adjustment among migrant students from South Sumatra studying in Yogyakarta.Using a quantitative correlational method, the study involved 105 South Sumatran students enrolled in various higher education institutions in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Participants were selected through purposive sampling, with the criteria of being active students who had studied for at least one year. Data were collected using a peer social support scale based on House’s theory (1981) and a self-adjustment scale based on Schneider’s theory (1999). Validity testing resulted in the exclusion of one item from the peer support scale and three items from the self-adjustment scale. Reliability testing using Cronbach’s Alpha produced coefficients of 0.917 for peer social support and 0.938 for self-adjustment.Correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between peer social support and self-adjustment, with a correlation coefficient of 0.822 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that higher levels of peer social support are associated with better self-adjustment among migrant students. The study highlights the crucial role of peer relationships in supporting migrant students’ psychological well-being and academic adaptation in a new environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality and price on repurchase decisions with consumer satisfaction as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected through questionnaires from 200 active consumers of Pemuda brand bread, and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results show that product quality does not directly influence repurchase decisions, but has a significant effect on consumer satisfaction. Conversely, price has a direct and significant effect on repurchase decisions, although it does not influence consumer satisfaction. Consumer satisfaction proved to be a strong mediator, where price influences repurchase decisions indirectly through consumer satisfaction, while the indirect effect of product quality through satisfaction was not significant. The research model showed a Goodness of Fit (GoF) of 0.689, which is categorized as a large effect. These findings reveal the unique dynamics of consumers in Ambon city where they are more responsive to perceived value and price fairness than technical attributes of quality alone. Theoretically, this study extends the validity of Expectation Confirmation Theory to the context of food MSMEs in Maluku and practically, the results provide strategic guidance for local business actors to strengthen loyalty through quality consistency, proportional pricing strategies, and holistic consumer experience management.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of cognitive muscle therapy on improving lumbar function in low back pain. The sample consisted of 40 people and was selected based on random sampling techniques using the available questionnaire. The sample was grouped into two treatment groups, treatment group I consisted of 20 people with Cognitive Muscle Therapy and treatment group II consisted of 20 people with Cognitive Muscle Therapy. Method: This study is a type of quasi-experimental pre-post test design. Statistical analysis of this study used the Related T-Test test and the Independent T-Test test. The results of the homogeneity test of the treatment group before exercise with a p value = 0.008. The results of the Related T-Test test in treatment group I with a p value = 0.001 and in treatment group II with a p value = 0.001 means that the exercise given to each group has an effect on improving Lumbar Function. And the results of the Independent T-Test showed a p value = 0.001 which means there is a very significant effect between treatment group I and treatment group II. It can be concluded that there is a very significant effect of Cognitive Muscle Therapy for Improving Lumbar Function in Low Back Pain. In this study, it is recommended that the exercise method can be applied with the correct procedure, carried out for more than 1 month because the improvement of Lumbar Function will be better if done for 2-3 months, and it is hoped that things that can affect the results of the study can be minimized in order to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

Electric power reliability remains central to Indonesia’s economic stability while decarbonization pressures increase. This study evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of recovering flue-gas heat from the Adipala coal-fired power plant to generate 5 kW via a micro Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC). Field measurements at the economizer duct show a flue-gas mass flow of 55,000 kg h⁻¹ at 170 °C, corresponding to about 400 kW_th of recoverable heat. A thermodynamic model with realistic parasitic losses and a 12% cycle efficiency indicates a net electrical output of 5 kW with exhaust temperature maintained at 110 °C and boiler backpressure limited to 2 mbar, so boiler operation is not disturbed. Economic appraisal uses a discounted cash-flow model with CAPEX USD 15,000, annual O&M USD 450, availability factor 0.80, electricity price USD 0.10 kWh⁻¹, and discount rate 10%. Results show annual net cash inflow USD 3,054, NPV ≈ USD 11,000, IRR ≈ 19.8%, BCR = 1.59, and a simple payback of ~4.9 years. Sensitivity checks indicate project resilience to reasonable variations in availability, carbon pricing, and component cost. The findings demonstrate that small-scale ORC deployment on plant economizers can be technically sound, economically attractive, and supportive of modest emissions reduction and asset-management goals for thermal power stations.

Abstract

The basic immunization program is a strategic effort to reduce morbidity and mortality in infants from preventable diseases. This study aimed to analyze the management of the DPT and Polio immunization program for infants in the working areas of Health Centers in South Central Timor Regency, covering aspects of planning, implementation, human resources, and digital reporting systems. The study used a qualitative approach with purposive sampling at four health centers, namely Kota, Taneotop, Lotas, and Siso. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document review, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that most health centers had conducted vaccine and logistics planning according to standards, but were not yet fully capable of independently managing the cold chain. Immunization was carried out routinely and through mass campaigns, although challenges remained related to electricity, vaccine distribution, and limited storage facilities. In terms of human resources, only some staff had received technical training, while others had not fully developed competencies in logistics management and digital reporting. The implementation of the ASIK and SMILE applications improved the accuracy and efficiency of reporting but was not yet uniformly applied across all areas due to infrastructure and network limitations. In conclusion, the success of the immunization program in South Central Timor Regency heavily relies on data-driven planning, capacity building for staff, and the strengthening of an integrated and sustainable digital system.

Abstract

Indonesia underwent an economic recession as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study seeks to assess the degree to which education contributes to income disparity in Indonesia. This research utilizes data acquired from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The Gini coefficient measures economic inequality, whereas average years of schooling and participation rates for individuals under 19 and those aged 19-23 assess education. The average years of education did not substantially influence the Gini coefficient. Simultaneously, the engagement rate for individuals aged 19-23 exhibited a beneficial impact. A higher participation rate correlates with a larger income disparity. This supports the idea that educational attainment will enhance inequality to a specific extent.

Abstract

This research aims to determine what conditions can cause Directors, Commissioners and Shareholders to be imposed personally responsible for the Company's tax debts and who must prove (burden of proof) regarding whether or not such personal responsibility can be imposed on them. This research is a doctrinal research with a conceptual and case approach by using 11 court verdicts that have been legally binding. The results of this research indicate that for Directors and Commissioners, personal liability can be imposed if they commit corporate actions that exceed their authority (ultra vires) and do not complay with the principles of fiduciary duty, so they are not protected by the principles of business judgment rules. Meanwhile, for Shareholders, personal liability can be imposed if they make the LLC as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) or their Alter Ego. Regarding the burden of proof, there are differences between the Doctrine, the PT Law, the KUP Law, and Court Decisions. Referring to the Doctrine and the PT Law, for Directors and Commissioners, a reversal burden of proof mechanism applies, where Directors and Commissioners must prove that they cannot be imposed personally liable. For Shareholders, an ‘actori incumbit probatio’ mechanism applies, where the burden of proof lies on the Tax Authority as the Claimant (especially for shareholders of Public Company). If referring to the KUP Law, both Directors, Commissioners, and Shareholders apply a reversal burden of proof mechanism. Meanwhile, if referring to court decisions, of the 11 (eleven) Decisions reviewed, there is still no uniformity regarding who is burdened with the burden of proof.
