Inland water shipping has not been used maximally, its utilization is still very minimal. Though the opportunities for good use for the purpose of transportation of goods, passengers, tourism are still very broad, very cheap for the transportation of goods in large quantities such as those which began to be developed on the islands of Kalimantan and Sumatra for transportation of mining products and agricultural products2 . Sailing through rivers and lakes is one form of transportation system that is used to transport goods and passengers through inland waters. This transportation system is a transportation that has developed since prehistory which then developed into the main transportation system in certain regions even in more developed areas such as the European transportation system. In river shipping various kinds of goods are transported from the hinterland to the port. Conversely, through the river also goods from the port are distributed to areas in the interior. The same thing happens in lakes, various kinds of goods are transported to and from cities on the other side of the lake. Sailing of rivers and lakes has an important role3 in transporting trade goods. Agricultural products, livestock / fisheries and forest products are one of the main commodities transported via river shipping. In addition, mining and handicraft products of the population.

In general, ship accidents are caused by the lack of implementation of shipping safety, partly because the ship does not meet shipping quality, safety equipment not available on the ship, overloaded loads and lack of supervision from related parties, and the low competence of the crew. Regulations regarding the safety standards for river, lake and crossing transportation are regulated in the Decree of the Minister of Transportation number: KM. 25 of 2015 concerning River, Lake and Crossing Transportation Safety Standards. The average value of the implementation of speedboat on regulations governing the safety of river and lake transportation at Pier 16 Ilir of Palembang is 81 or good enough (CB), consisting of several aspects, namely implementation of safety aspects, Implementation of aspects of human resources (HR), Implementation of aspects of port facilities, Implementation of aspects of standard port operations, Implementation of environmental aspects governing prevention and prevention of pollution from ships and ports.

Indonesia is one of state as the world’s biggest supplier of seafarers is being threatened by the growing share in the development of international seafarers by other countries in Eastern Europe and Asia, particularly China. The employability of seafarers depends largely on the quality of education they have acquired and the effectiveness of training that they have undergone pursuant to the requirements of STCW’95. If the country remains complacent about the present level of competence of its seafarers, it may lose out to other countries in the global labour market competition. The Philippines has to respond to the challenges in the global maritime environment by maintaining a viable supply of well-trained mariners. To achieve that, however, will require new approaches to maritime education and training. This new MET approach should be one that affords high quality output to a great number of seafarers. In other words, it must be something that meets both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the industry and international regulatory authorities, particularly the IMO. This new approach to MET in the Philippines could be the establishment of a Distance Learning Programme. Distance learning employing state-of-the-art telecommunications technology, IT and satellite communications system will enable the Philippine MET to train a great number of seafarers even while they are at sea without sacrificing quality

The main engine is an aircraft that has a very important role on the vessel to support the operation of the vessel, so that the vessel can operate properly. To support the performance of the main engine, there are several systems in it and one of them is a fresh water cooling system. In principle, a fresh water cooling system is the surrender of heat generated by combustion of fuel in the cylinder, so that the engine temperature will be in accordance with what is desired in this study. The purpose of this research is to find out what causes the rise in temperature of the main engine. The study was conducted at Training Vessel AE-028 for 2 months, by taking data on problems that occur in the engine coolant on the main engine on the vessel. The variable is the filter on the old Sea Chest and compared with the new filter (modification). The increase in the temperature of the fresh water cooling of the Training Vessel AE-028 is influenced by the sea water discharge from the incoming sea chest that is less than optimal. With the use of a new sea chest (modified), the water flow has increased the average flow rate to 20% and the temperature of the freshwater cooler has decreased 4.6%. By modifying the sea chest filter, the temperature of the fresh water cooler has decreased by 3 ° C and the exhaust temperature at 2 ° C. The data analysis technique used in solving hypotheses is descriptive analysis. Descriptive analysis is to provide an overview of the data obtained.

Occupational Safety and Health is very important in a company, especially in construction work. The creation of a sense of security and comfort at work is a demand for companies to be able to fulfill it in order to provide work safety guarantees for project workers and employees. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the process of implementing Occupational Safety and Health (K3) to Unloading Equipment Operators at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) Palembang branch. The study used survey questions and direct interviews in the field, followed by identification of project locations, visual surveys in the project and documentation taking in the field. K3 implementation in the loading and unloading equipment operator at PT. The Port of Indonesia II Palembang has been running quite well because of the management's efforts to implement K3 rules in accordance with PP No. 50 of 2012, namely the loading and unloading operators are required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and often carried out socialization about OSH. However, there are still loading and unloading operators who seem not to comply with the rules applied by management and even seem unconcerned with Occupational Safety and Health. The results of the questioner stated, 100% (Yes) because management has implemented K3 regulations namely providing personal protective equipment (PPE) ; 98% know what is meant by Occupational Safety and Health; and 100% of workers claim there is a guarantee of Occupational Safety and Health.

Inland Waterways infrastructure is usually in the form of natural infrastructure in the form of rivers that can be used for cheap transportation, but sometimes problems are found in order to optimize their use by constructing canals, transfer ponds or have to be regularly treated and dredged especially on rivers that flow the rivers are out of control so that erosion that occurs in the river flow area in turn results in shallowing of the shipping lanes.

Ampera Light Rail Transit Station (LRT) in Palembang, located close to the BRT Trans Musi stop, and River Transport Pier. But the problem that arises is that the 3 modes are not yet integrated so that passengers still have difficulty switching modes quickly, easily and safely and don't yet have payment facilities (ticketing), namely one payment access for multimodal (smart cards). The purpose of this study was to determine passenger perceptions about the physical integration facilities of passengers and the payment integration system (ticketing) when they were going to switch modes that would be used as a reference in the form of a design of physical integration facilities and ticketing. The analytical method used is the IPA (Importance Performance Analysis), the results of interviews with informants and the results of observations in the fields that will be a reference in making design forms so that they can answer the problem. The results showed that according to passenger perceptions there were 19 service attributes that had low performance so improvements had to be made. The results of interviews with several informants concluded that in the Ampera LRT Station area needs to be improvement and improvement intermodal physical integration facilities, with the form of facilities namely eleveted corridors (sky bridge), not eleveted, closed, safe, comfortable, fast, and can accommodate disabilities.

Transportation is a physical activity of the movement of goods or passengers from one place to another which has a very important role in economic, social, cultural and political development. With the transportation of the distribution of these goods and the results of production can be done and reach all regions evenly which will ultimately increase Regional, National income and open isolated areas and increase income for the local area and the country in general. The increasing interaction of transportation between economic and social activities in an area causes the need for a transportation role that is useful to assist movement in the area. The economic and social development of an area is also strongly influenced by the transportation system which will ultimately increase the development of the region. The success of the development of an area is strongly influenced by the role of transportation as the lifeblood of life in an area both political, economic, social and cultural life as well as defense and security. To realize the mission championed by transportation, namely improving the quality of services and management of transportation services that are reliable, competitive and provide added value that is able to support the recovery of the national economy. Simanindo Port, located in Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province, is a commercial port managed by the Department of Transportation that serves public services to carry out crossing activities that connect Simanindo Port in Samosir District with Tigaras Port within the Simalungun Regency. The existence of the Simanindo-Tigaras cross is very important because with the existence of the port, it can support economic development efforts and also as a vein of land transportation due to the interruption of Lake Toba. In the transportation system, security and safety are preferred as a form of good service delivery. Safety is demonstrated not only to service users and ship operators, but also to vehicles both at port and while sailing. As with the regulation and handling of vehicle loads on board, the better the arrangement and handling of vehicles on board the better the level of vehicle security and safety on the ship and vice versa the worse the arrangement and handling of vehicles on board the worse the level of vehicle security and safety on board.

In the country of Indonesia, whose territories are islands and waters, sea transportation is an important means of transportation for developing community interaction in various fields. Public voyage is a means of transportation that can reach archipelagic areas. In its development, currently the existence of people's voyage has been marginalized by the operation of modern ships and the policies that accompany it, so that it has suffered a downturn. In connection with this adversity, it is interesting to ask, what factors have caused it? The research was conducted using a qualitative approach, data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, FGDs and field observations. The results showed that the marginalization of people's voyage in Central Maluku was because the existing people's voyage facilities were unable to compete with the operation of fast boats from sea transportation companies and pioneer ships (ferries) provided by the government. The existence of a port that prefers loading and unloading with machines is also a separate problem faced by public voyage, so that people's voyage is rejected because it carries out loading and unloading with human power. In addition, government policies are also a factor that is less supportive of the development of people's voyage in Maluku. Whereas people voyage in the form of small ships are still needed by the island community. Therefore, it needs good management so that people's voyage vessels remain
