Abstract

Reading and writing are two fundamental skills that students must master during the learning process, especially in the BTQ (Baca Tulis Qur’an) subject. The primary issue addressed in this research is the impact of Arabic writing skills on students' ability to read the Qur'an in the BTQ subject for seventh-grade students at MTs Al-Ashdariyah, Pakenjeng Garut. The objectives of this study are to answer the following research questions: 1) How are the students' skills in writing Arabic letters in the BTQ subject in the seventh grade at MTs Al-Ashdariyah described? 2) How are the students' abilities in reading the Qur'an in the BTQ subject in the seventh grade at MTs Al-Ashdariyah described? 3) What is the impact of Arabic writing skills on students' ability to read the Qur'an in the BTQ subject in the seventh grade at MTs Al-Ashdariyah? This research employs a quantitative approach using the correlational method. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, and document studies. The data analysis is conducted through statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate that the average skill level in writing Arabic letters in the BTQ subject is 3.62, which falls within the interval of 3.01-4.00, categorized as "good." Similarly, the average ability in reading the Qur'an is 3.11, which also falls within the interval of 3.01-4.00, categorized as "good." Based on statistical analysis, it is found that Arabic writing skills influence the ability to read the Qur'an by 53.29% in the BTQ subject for seventh-grade students at MTs Al-Ashdariyah, while the remaining 46.71% is influenced by other factors not included in this study.  Keywords: Writing Skills, Learning Process, Arabic Letters

Abstract

This research is driven by observations of the low moral awareness among students. Evidence of this includes students violating rules, displaying a lack of discipline, attending and entering classes at their discretion rather than adhering to the set schedule, using coarse language, and lacking enthusiasm in their studies. The aim of this study is to describe the implications of internalizing Islamic values within Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons on students' moral awareness. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that internalizing Islamic values in the school environment and within PAI lessons positively impacts students' moral awareness. This is demonstrated by activities such as praying before starting lessons, performing congregational prayers, and engaging in practical applications and reflection on PAI learning materials.  Keywords: Internalization, Islamic Values, PAI Education, Moral Awareness

Abstract

Critical thinking is a vital skill that needs to be nurtured and developed from a young age. However, many students still struggle to engage critically during the learning process, often refraining from expressing their opinions or asking questions about subjects they do not fully understand. This issue is primarily due to teacher-centered learning approaches, which limit opportunities for students to voice their thoughts and develop critical thinking skills. Therefore, the inductive teaching model is proposed as an effective solution to enhance students' critical thinking abilities. The aim of this study is to describe the impact of the inductive teaching model on critical thinking skills in Islamic religious education. This research investigates the correlation between the inductive teaching model and the development of critical thinking abilities among students. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, involving data collection through observations and questionnaires distributed to 36 respondents. The data were analyzed using statistical methods. The results indicate that the implementation of the inductive teaching model in Islamic religious education achieved an average score of 4.41, which falls under the "very good" category. Similarly, students' critical thinking skills averaged 4.13, also categorized as "very good." These findings suggest that the inductive teaching model is an effective alternative to enhance students' critical thinking skills in Islamic religious education. Based on hypothesis testing, it was found that the inductive teaching model positively influences students' critical thinking abilities by 43.90%. The remaining 56.10% of the influence on critical thinking skills is attributed to other variables not included in this study.  Keywords: Inductive Teaching Model, Critical Thinking, Islamic Religious Education

Abstract

Student engagement during the teaching and learning process is a crucial indicator of their desire or motivation to learn. Students are considered active if they exhibit behaviors such as frequently asking questions to the teacher or peers, willingly completing assignments given by the teacher, being able to answer questions, and often being assigned learning tasks. Active participation in the learning process fosters high interaction between teachers and students, as well as among the students themselves. However, in practice, student engagement has not been fully optimized. Therefore, the non-directive teaching model is one of the options to create a refreshing and conducive learning environment.   This study aims to describe the effect of implementing the non-directive teaching model on student engagement in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) for Grade IX students at SMP Persada Cilawu. The research employed a descriptive associative method, involving direct fieldwork to observe and record the ongoing phenomena. The results from this study indicate that both student engagement and the non-directive teaching model received favorable evaluations. The findings show that the implementation of the non-directive teaching model accounts for 7.2% of the variance in student engagement, as reflected in the model summary table with a value range between 0.00 and 0.1999, indicating a very low effect. Despite this categorization as "very low," the impact of the non-directive model cannot be dismissed, as it remains an external factor that can influence student engagement in learning. The remaining 92.8% of the influence is attributed to other factors not examined in this study.  Keywords: Teaching Model, Non-Directive, Student Engagement, Islamic Religious Education

Abstract

This study is motivated by educational challenges related to the role of teachers. Teachers play a pivotal role in the educational process, and their personalities significantly contribute to the success of education. The Qur'an, as the highest source of guidance in education, contains numerous verses that address the competencies and characteristics of a teacher's personality. One such reference is found in Surah Al-An'am, verse 162, which highlights the importance of sincerity in teaching. The objective of this research is to describe the educational values contained in Surah Al-An'am, verse 162, concerning the personality competencies of teachers from the perspective of Islamic Educational Sciences. This research is a type of library research, involving the examination of interpretations by various Islamic scholars (mufassir) on Surah Al-An'am, verse 162, as well as written sources on educational values proposed by experts and Islamic scholars. The methodology employed in this research is descriptive, focusing on content analysis of Surah Al-An'am, verse 162, and relevant textual materials. The data analysis technique used is thematic interpretation (tafsir). The findings indicate that the educational values derived from Surah Al-An'am, verse 162, as interpreted by scholars, emphasize the importance of sincerity. The educational values in this verse regarding the personality competencies of teachers within the study of Islamic Educational Sciences include:   I'tiqodiyah Values (Faith) - Emphasizing the necessity of sincere belief and faith in a teacher's life. Shari'ah Values - Highlighting the importance of sincere adherence to Islamic law and religious practices. Khuluqiyah Values (Morality) - Stressing the need for sincere conduct and behavior in all interactions.   These values underscore the fundamental requirement for a teacher to embody sincerity in their faith, worship, and behavior. Abstract

The ability to improve Qur'anic reading (tahsin) is crucial in the learning process of Qur'anic literacy (BTQ - Baca Tulis al-Qur’an) for students. Currently, many students have not achieved adequate tahsin skills, as evidenced by their learning outcomes. The Talaqqi method in BTQ instruction is a promising approach that can train students to read the Qur'an according to the rules of tajweed and makharijul huruf, thereby enhancing their tahsin skills. This study aims to describe: (1) the implementation of the Talaqqi Method in Qur'anic literacy instruction at SD IT Lisanul Arab, (2) the tahsin skills of students, and (3) the impact of the Talaqqi Method on students' tahsin abilities. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method. Data collection techniques include documentation studies, questionnaires, pre-tests, and other relevant methods. Data processing is conducted through statistical analysis using the "product-moment correlation" technique. The findings indicate a significant effect of the Talaqqi Method on the tahsin abilities of fourth-grade students in BTQ instruction at SD IT Lisanul Arab. This is evidenced by a correlation coefficient (r-value) of 0.4893, which falls within the 0.40-0.599 range, categorizing the relationship as moderate, with a percentage effect of 97.89%. Based on statistical tests, there is a discernible influence of the Talaqqi Method on the tahsin skills of fourth-grade students in BTQ lessons.  Keywords: Talaqqi Method, Tahsin Skills, Qur'anic Literacy (BTQ)

Abstract

Reading the Qur'an is not just about recitation; it must adhere to the rules of Tajwid (proper pronunciation and articulation), Makharijul Huruf (points of articulation of the letters), Shifatul Huruf (characteristics of the letters), and Tartil (slow and clear recitation). Students often struggle to read the Qur'an according to these guidelines, leading to many students reading without observing the correct rules. The Ummi method is one approach designed to assist students in reading the Qur'an correctly and proficiently.  The objectives of applying the Ummi method in this study include: Describing the Tartil (correct and rhythmic recitation) of the Qur'an among students at SDIT Al-Ikhlas. Detailing the implementation of the Ummi method for students at SDIT Al-Ikhlas. Assessing the impact of the Ummi method on the Tartil of the Qur'an among students at SDIT Al-Ikhlas.  This research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, collecting data to explore the phenomena under study. The findings regarding the impact of the Ummi method on the Tartil of Qur'anic recitation among students at SDIT Al-Ikhlas Samarang Garut are as follows: The analysis of the questionnaire for variable X (the Ummi method) yields an average score of 4.56, which falls into the high or very good category. For variable Y (Qur'anic recitation Tartil), the average score is 4.1.   These results indicate that the Ummi method significantly influences Tartil of Qur'anic recitation among students at SDIT Al-Ikhlas Samarang Garut, with a substantial impact of 57.67%. The remaining 42.33% is influenced by other factors not covered in this study, aligning with the fundamental purpose and function of Qur'anic recitation. Keywords: Ummi Method, Tartil Al-Qur'an

Abstract

Hasil belajar merupakan kemampuan yang diperoleh individu setelah proses belajar berlangsung, yang dapat memberikan perubahan tingkah laku baik pengetahuan, pemahaman, sikap, dan keterampilan siswa sehingga menjadi lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran PAI dibilang masih rendah karena masih banyak siswa yang belum fokus dalam kegiatan belajar dan kurangnya media pembelajaran yang digunakan di sekolah.Media pembelajaran Question Wheel adalah sebuah media pembelajaran berbentuk roda yang dapat diputar dan dibagi menjadi beberapa sektor/bagian yang di dalamnya terdapat warna untuk memilih pertanyaan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk: 1) Mengetahui  Hasil belajar siswa sebelum menggunakan Media Question Wheel pada mata PAI Islam di kelas 5A SDN 4 Sindanggalih Karangpawitan Garut. 2) Mengetahui penerapan media pembelajaran Question wheel dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI  di kelas 5A SDN 4 Sindanggalih Garut. 3) Mengetahui hasil dari Penerapan Media Pembelajaran Question Wheel dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI di kelas 5A SDN 4 Sindanggalih Karangpawitan Garut Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), maka prosedur penelitian ini sesuai dengan prosedur penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam proses berdaur/ siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan Penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif, yakni menggambarkan dan menggunakan angka dan kalimat untuk memperoleh  data hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I, dan siklus II. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hasil belajar siswa setelah penerapan media Question Wheel yang awalnya 45,71% menjadi 88,6% dengan peningkatan 17.2% dan mendapat kategori baik. Berdasarkan dari hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media Question Wheel dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam.di kelas 5A SDN 4 Sindanggalih Karangpawitan Garut.  Kata kunci : Media Questions Wheel, Hasil Belajar, Pendidikan Agama Islam

Abstract

Student understanding is the ability to comprehend problems, interpret, and restate them in one's own words. In terms of understanding, students must master skills such as translating, connecting, and interpreting information. However, in reality, student understanding in the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject in Class XI MIPA at MA Al-Musaddadiyah Garut remains low. This is evidenced by findings showing that many students are unable to explain the material presented and cannot summarize the material using their own words. Observations of the daily test scores for the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject in Class XI MIPA reveal that 51% of students have not yet met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). This indicates that many students do not have a satisfactory level of understanding. To address this issue, one solution that can be employed is the use of instructional media. One form of educational media that is expected to enhance student understanding is the use of InShot multimedia. InShot multimedia is a combination of text, audio, images, animations, and videos edited using the InShot application and can be presented interactively. The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of using InShot multimedia on student understanding in the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject in Class XI MIPA. The research methodology employed is descriptive with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data sources utilized in this study include primary and secondary sources. Data collection techniques involve observation, interviews, and written tests. Data analysis techniques used in this research include planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of this study indicate that the use of InShot multimedia can improve student understanding. This is demonstrated by the fulfillment of five indicators of student understanding, namely: the ability to interpret, provide examples, classify, draw inferences, and compare.  Keywords: InShot Multimedia, Student Understanding, Al-Qur'an Hadith Subject

Abstract

This research is motivated by the ineffective learning outcomes due to students' low self-awareness in participating in learning activities. This is evident from the lack of achievement of learning objectives and the presence of students who do not meet the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) in Islamic Education (PAI). Self-awareness is crucial in learning activities, yet it remains a significant challenge for students. The objective of this study is to describe the effectiveness of Islamic Education (PAI) learning using a self-awareness training model. It is anticipated that the use of this model will have a positive impact on enhancing students' self-awareness. The research method employed is descriptive-analytical, chosen to gather factual data with interpretation. Primary and secondary data were collected through direct fieldwork using questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Data validation utilized triangulation. The findings indicate that the self-awareness training model in Islamic Education (PAI) positively impacts the effectiveness of learning. This improvement is attributed to teachers selecting substantive teaching materials, employing appropriate methods, and using functional learning media.  Keywords: Effectiveness of Islamic Education Learning, Self-Awareness Training Model
