Abstract

Background: Hallucinations are symptoms of mental disorders that affect sensory perception and impair thought control, often leading to risky behaviors if not supported by family or friends. Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of occupational drawing therapy in reducing auditory hallucinations in patients with schizophrenia. Method: A qualitative case study aimed to examine changes in hallucinatory symptoms and the ability to control them through drawing occupational therapy. The intervention was conducted from January 25 to February 1, 2025, involving one patient who received daily sessions lasting 20–30 minutes. Instruments used included the Drawing Therapy SOP, Auditory Hallucination Rating Scale (AHRS), and a symptom observation sheet. Results: Before therapy, the patient's AHRS score was 19, and symptom observation was 12. After therapy, the scores decreased to 9 and 4, respectively. Conclusion: Drawing therapy helped divert attention from hallucinations, encouraged emotional expression, and reduced symptom intensity. Abstract

Background: The implementation of hospital information systems is expected to improve employee performance, particularly among doctors as key users. Previous studies have shown that the effectiveness of such systems can positively influence individual performance. Purpose: To analyze of Mental Health and Performance of Doctors Using the Hospital Information System (HIS). Method: This quantitative study used a total sampling technique involving 41 doctors at PRIMA Hospital Pekanbaru. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to assess the influence of various factors on doctors’ performance in using HMIS. The independent variables included knowledge, attitude, experience, doctors’ perception, ease of use, system security and reliability, feature–need suitability, data quality and accessibility, hospital policy, training and supervision support, as well as incentives and performance evaluation. Results: The analysis revealed that only the doctors’ perception variable had a statistically significant effect on doctors' performance (p = 0.010 < 0.05). Other variables including knowledge, attitude, experience, ease of use, system security, hospital policies, training, and incentives showed no significant influence (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Doctors’ perception of HMIS is a key factor in enhancing their performance in using the system. To optimize HMIS implementation, hospitals should focus on improving doctors’ understanding and acceptance through strategies such as targeted education and socialization, simplifying and customizing system features, enhancing system speed and interface, and offering performance-based incentives for HMIS utilization. Abstract

Background: Adolescents are an age group vulnerable to mental health problems. According to the 2022 Indonesia National Adolescent Mental Health Survey (I-NAMHS), 34.9% of Indonesian adolescents experienced mental health problems in the past 12 months, with anxiety being the most common disorder. Purpose: To examine the relationship between the understanding of the Javanese philosophy Urip Iku Urup and adolescents’ motivation and mental health. Method: A quantitative correlational design with 163 adolescents aged 15–19 years from SMK Negeri 1 Cangkringan, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were a motivation scale based on Maslow’s theory and a mental health scale based on Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy. Results: Assumption testing showed that the data were normally distributed (p > 0.05) and linear (p < 0.05). Reliability analysis indicated Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.909 for the mental health scale and 0.952 for the motivation scale, both of which are categorized as very high. Hypothesis testing using Pearson Product Moment correlation revealed a very strong and significant positive relationship between the understanding of Urip Iku Urup philosophy and adolescents’ motivation and mental health (r = 0.841; p = 0.000). Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that local cultural values can serve as preventive and promotive strategies for enhancing adolescents’ motivation and mental health. Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of occupational drawing therapy in reducing auditory hallucinations in patients with schizophrenia. Method: Data collection on the respondents' cases used a descriptive case study design, with art therapy intervention provided. The intervention was conducted over three days. This intervention was administered over three days, with each session lasting 45 minutes. Results: Drawing therapy has been shown to reduce the signs and symptoms of hallucinations. Before therapy, the patient's AHRS score was 11, categorized as severe, and the observation of signs and symptoms was 9. After therapy, the score decreased to 4, categorized as mild, and the observation of signs and symptoms was 2. Conclusion: This additional intervention can be used as a reference for non-pharmacological therapy considerations because it has been proven effective in reducing the signs and symptoms of hallucinations. Abstract

Background: Mental disorders, particularly schizophrenia, cause a decline in mental function, impacting individuals' inability to perform self-care activities independently, including dental and oral hygiene. This self-care deficit is caused by cognitive impairment, lack of motivation, and the inability to organize and carry out daily activities. Appropriate interventions are essential to support the restoration of independence and improve patients' quality of life. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of implementing the token economy method in improving oral hygiene in patients with self-care deficits due to mental disorders. Method: An in-depth case study was conducted on one patient diagnosed with self-care deficit using the token economy method as an intervention. Data were collected through observations, a token economy checklist, and self-care (oral hygiene) activity observation sheets for two weeks, from October 20 to November 1, 2025. Analysis focused on improving the patient's oral hygiene score. Results: After two weeks of the token economy intervention, there was a significant improvement in patients' toothbrushing activity, as measured by token scores. Oral hygiene scores improved from poor (10) to fair (30), with patients showing consistent progress in performing self-care independently. Conclusion: This intervention successfully motivated patients to maintain regular and independent oral hygiene. Keywords: Oral Hygiene; Schizophrenia; Self-Care Deficit.
