Abstract

Students' lack of understanding of a concept is usually called a misconception. This research aims to determine misconceptions about understanding plane material by applying polya theory at PGMI 3 State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The subjects in this research were 4 PGMI 3 UINSU students. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. Data collection in this research was carried out using observation and test methods. The results of the research showed that there were student misconceptions in working on plane material problems with the application of polya theory, including: misconceptions about signs and misconceptions about work procedures. This misconception occurs because students are not careful and do not understand the concepts in working on flat shapes using polya theory.

Abstract

Misconceptions are misunderstandings in understanding mathematical concepts. Mathematics misconceptions are still experienced by many students in tertiary institutions. The aim of this research was to analyze errors in understanding questions about Flat Figures by applying Polya Theory. Polya's theory consists of 4 steps, namely understanding the problem, planning, implementing and assessing. This type of assessment is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted on PGMI 3 students by taking 6 students as research subjects. The supporting instruments in this research are a 2-item ability test about Flat Figures, observation and interviews. The results of this research indicate that there are misconceptions that occur in understanding Flat Figure problems by applying Polya Theory, namely that out of 6 students there are 4 people who experience misconceptions. Factors that cause students to experience misconceptions include internal and external factors. Internal factors include students not writing down notations/symbols, and students' lack of understanding of the steps of polya theory. Meanwhile, the external factor is that students have too many outside activities so they don't focus on working on plane shape questions given by the teacher and there is a lack of motivation for students to work on plane shape questions.

Abstract

Misconceptions are misunderstandings or inequalities in solving mathematics learning problems by understanding concepts that are in accordance with mathematical rules or scientists' concepts. This journal aims to find out misconceptions about teaching arithmetic series that occur among students based on misconception indicators. The method used in this writing is qualitative-descriptive. There were 18 research subjects carried out at PGMI 3 UIN North Sumatra. There are often or still are some students who experience misconceptions about arithmetic series material, both from conceptual, strategic and systematic misconceptions, but in translation there are no more misconceptions. The data collection techniques used were observation and questionnaire questions. The results of the analysis that has been carried out are that in the process of learning arithmetic series, there are still some misconceptions among students due to a lack of understanding of the concept and not being careful in determining strategies for arithmetic series material, resulting in errors in solving problems.

Abstract

Easy exploration of content - content containing videos or images on social media which in this case we as users do not know how the social media algorithm works in displaying the content we see. This research aims to analyze the influence of social media algorithms on content consumption patterns. This research uses a qualitative research method with a literature study research type and is continued by directly analyzing social media platforms, namely TikTok and Instagram. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the algorithm of this social media both on the TikTok and Instagram platforms has similarities, namely being influenced by interactions from users in the form of (likes, comments, and shares), user search history, trending topics, and influenced by accounts that are followed. So that the content consumption patterns of social media users will remain the same because all the content that users see or enjoy is based on the user's own interests.

Abstract

Literary psychology is a branch of psychology that studies the interaction between psychology and literature. It involves analyzing and understanding how psychological elements, such as emotion, motivation, perception, and personality, can be understood through literary works. Literary psychology tries to explain and understand human experiences expressed in literary works, as well as how literary works can influence and affect readers emotionally and psychologically. "Analysis of Psychological Factors that Influence Consumer Decisions in Choosing the Modern Market: Data Mining Approach using RapidMiner" - Research This aims to find out which psychological factors influence consumer decisions in choosing modern markets. The type of research carried out is explanatory research which explains the causal relationship between variables through hypothesis testing. In this research, analysis of the coefficient of determination is carried out to determine consumer psychological factors. which contributed 62.1% in influencing purchasing decisions, while the remaining 37.9% was influenced by other factors in analysis using the Decision Tree method: This method is used to build prediction models based on decision trees. Decision trees can help identify the psychological factors that are most influential in making consumer decisions.

Abstract

According to Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have the spiritual power of religious rituals, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble morals, and the necessary skills. by himself, society, nation, and state. Learning media is a tool in the teaching and learning process that conveys messages and clarifies material to help the learning process. Observations carried out at SDN Sukamulya still used media such as pictures on paper or were only guided by the textbooks used. From these results, students had no interest in the learning process if they only used paper media. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of learning videos on interest in learning mathematics for class V at SDN Sukamulya. The research method used was an experiment with a quantitative approach design to determine how variable the results were. From the pretest results, it was 23.64%, and the posttest results increased to 25.76%.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Algebra learning by applying the principles of PMRI (Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education) through the game of marbles at SD 3 Sidigede, especially in class 3. The research method used is using a qualitative approach, namely describing the process of playing the game and the benefits of playing marbles. The subjects in this research were grade 3 students at SD 3 Sidigede where the number of students in one class was 30 people consisting of 10 boys and 20 girls. The results of this research are that the ability to learn algebra in this class is good. Students can perform addition and subtraction operations on a pattern presented containing predetermined numbers. In this learning, the principles of PMRI (Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education) have been applied, namely in a marble game. Where the game of marbles can train students' motor skills, train their thinking skills, their ability to count, sharpen their social skills and can train children to control their emotions.

Abstract

This research aims to study methods that can be used to test paired sample data in parametric and nonparametric statistics. Parametric statistics are used if the data sample meets certain assumptions, namely normal distribution and a minimum interval measurement scale. Meanwhile, if these assumptions are not met, you can use nonparametric. This research data was generated randomly to be applied to the paired sample test and the Wilcoxon test. These tests were applied to test the difference in averages before treatment and after treatment. The test results show that for normally distributed data using the paired t test it is proven that there is a difference between the averages before and after treatment. The same thing applies to data with an exponential distribution which is tested using Wilcoxon, that there is a difference in the average before treatment and after treatment.
