Abstract

This study aims to examine the perspective of social actions taken by Social Welfare Workers at the sub-district level (TKSK) in the Social Service Office of Denpasar City. Using Max Weber’s theory of social action rationality, this research explores the meaning and motivations behind the social actions taken by TKSK in carrying out their duties. These social actions are performed to assist communities in need of social welfare services, both in terms of physical and emotional support. Through a qualitative approach, data were collected using in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation involving TKSK, the Head of the Denpasar City Social Service, as well as the community members receiving services from TKSK. The findings show that, despite working in challenging conditions, with minimal salaries and contracts that need to be renewed every year, they continue to perform their profession with full commitment. Their social action rationality is not only seen in terms of the benefits they receive but also in their social awareness and motivation to help others, as well as their dedication to reducing social disparities in society. This study provides insights into how TKSK manage their social responsibilities despite the challenging work conditions and minimal compensation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of extended family in preventing violations of children’s rights and the forms of violations of children’s rights that occur during online learning. The theoretical basis used is the role theory of Biddle and Thomas with several indicators, namely expectations (Expectation), norms (Norm), forms of behavior (Performance) and sanctions (Sanction). This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. This research was conducted in Kemantren Hamlet, Terusan Village, Mojokerto Regency, in 9 families who have children still in elementary school. Data were collected through interviews, observations and documentation and then analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the role of the extended family in preventing violations of children’s rights by mothers during online learning in Kemantren Hamlet, Terusan Village is (1) a provider of social support for the family, providing opportunities for mothers to increase their capacity and always try to fulfill their responsibilities in fulfilling children’s rights with the help of other family members’ interventions, (2) a provider of pleasure, calmness to grandchildren even though only accompanying learning, defending and comforting when their grandchildren cry, (3) a source of wisdom, following parental rules by supervising and giving advice on inappropriate behavior of parents and grandchildren.

Abstract

In early adulthood, individuals begin to establish romantic relationships with the opposite sex that do not always go smoothly. Some relationships often face uncomfortable situations that eventually make individuals unable to survive and lead to breakups. Early adulthood individuals who experience a breakup naturally experience different sadness, generally having feelings such as sadness, and loss of spirit. Individuals who break up in public and break up due to being cheated on tend to experience deep sadness and can cause a decrease in self-esteem. So this research is motivated by a decrease in self-esteem in early adult individuals. There are factors that affect self-esteem, one of which is social support. Thus, this study aims to determine the extent of the influence of social support from peers on self-esteem in early adults who experience breakups in Bekasi City. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with a type of non-probability sampling, namely purposive sampling as a sampling process involving 130 respondents who have been collected through distributing google form questionnaires with a Likert scale. Data analysis in this study used the help of IBM SPSS statistical 26 software with results that showed a positive and significant relationship, and there was an influence between social support on self-esteem. With moderate categorization results on social support and self-esteem variables. The results of this study are expected to provide insight into the importance of peer social support in increasing the self-esteem of early adult individuals who experience a breakup.

Abstract

This study addresses the phenomenon of representation of ideal life and social pressure on Instagram as well as its impact on self-image strategies among adolescents. The research background is based on the increasing use of social media as a space of digital identity formation that almost features an engineered and curated image of life. This study uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach to describe in depth the dynamics of self-image that arise as a result of social pressures in interactions in digital spaces. Data sources were obtained from literature reviews that included scholarly journals, books, and articles related to self-image theory, social media, as well as digital identity. The data collection technique was conducted through non-participant observation of the youth’s uploads and interactions on Instagram. Data analysis used Klaus Krippendorff’s content analysis approach which allowed for a systematic interpretation of texts, images, and symbols representing ideal lives as well as self-image strategies. To ensure validity, a source triangulation technique was used testing the consistency of data between observations and scientific literature. The results of the study suggest that representations of ideal lives on Instagram play a role as social standards that create psychological pressure and encourage adolescents to strategically adjust their identities. Discussion shows that self-image on Instagram is performative, reflective, and loaded with symbolic value that is influenced by algorithmic logics and social expectations. In conclusion, Instagram has been a space of hyperreality that influences young people’s identity construction through its complex, adaptive, and simultaneously problematic visual imagery, Instagram.

Abstract

Modern thought in Islam is a dynamic response to changes in the era marked by advances in science, globalization, and modernization. In a global context, Islam not only faces internal challenges, such as conservatism and intellectual stagnation, but also external challenges in the form of Western thought currents that often conflict with traditional Islamic values. Therefore, there is a need to understand the characteristics of modern thought in Islam and how it develops as part of the global discourse. In this study, the author reveals modern Islamic thought by collecting data from a literature review. The results of this study indicate that modern Islamic thought and globalization are themes that reflect the complexity of the interaction between religious values and the dynamics of the modern world. Although Muslim communities face various challenges in facing globalization—including cultural integration, economic equality, and minority rights—there are also significant opportunities for positive contributions and adaptation. By utilizing technology, contributing to the global economy, and expressing Islamic culture on the international stage, Islam can play an important role in shaping the future of a more just and connected world. Understanding and facing these challenges wisely, while taking advantage of the opportunities that exist, will enable Muslim communities to play an active and positive role in the ever-evolving global context.

Abstract

This study aims to determine, analyze and clearly describe the application of the principle of freedom of contract in consumer credit agreements at Bank Papua, Jayapura City Branch Office and the form of legal protection that should be given to debtor customers as a form of implementation of the principle of freedom of contract that is responsible at Bank Papua, Jayapura City Branch Office. This research method is normative legal research or often also called doctrinal research. Normative legal research is carried out by examining library materials which are secondary data. The approach used in normative legal research is the statute approach and the conceptual approach. The results of the study revealed that the application of the principle of freedom of contract to credit agreements at Bank Papua, Jayapura City Branch Office, in credit agreements is categorized as a failure to implement policies that are non-implementation (cannot be implemented). This is evidenced by the many standard clauses that tend to protect creditors without paying attention to the rights of debtors. In practice, the standard clauses in the working capital credit agreement can be said to be biased, while the principle of balance also needs to be considered in making an agreement, but not enough through legal substance, but the bureaucratic apparatus and the community play an important role so that the law can work in society. Therefore, to reduce the risks faced in banking credit agreements, the active role of the government is very much needed by bank credit customers, namely by tightening supervision in terms of the use of standard agreements. This aims to ensure that bank credit customers as the weaker party can better protect their rights. As well as bank credit customers must be more active in fighting for their rights and more critical in examining the clauses in the credit agreement.

Abstract

Managing reference and master data has become one of the most important challenges to support business efficiency in the digital age. This study explores how effective data management can improve decision-making and add value. The methodology employed includes a literature review and descriptive analysis of the cases studied. The findings indicate that structured data management can enhance integrity, reduce duplication, and accelerate operational processes.

Abstract

This literature review discusses digital implementation in administrative governance as a strategy to improve the quality of public services in the era of modern bureaucracy. Technological developments encourage transformation in the delivery of public services, requiring the bureaucracy to be more efficient, transparent, and responsive to community needs. Through the implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) and the digitization of public services, administrative processes that were previously slow and complicated can now be simplified, service times are faster, and accountability and community participation are stronger. The study results show that the implementation of digital platforms such as service applications, websites, and social media not only improves public satisfaction, but can also ease access to information and administrative procedures. However, the digitization process still faces challenges, especially in infrastructure gaps, digital literacy, and unprepared human resources, especially in remote areas such as Papua. The literature emphasizes that digitization can be a strategy for change towards data-driven, collaborative, and service-oriented governance. With a strategic and inclusive approach, digital transformation can be the foundation for the realization of an adaptive and equitable modern bureaucracy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and jealousy in emerging adults who are currently in romantic relationships. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 200 emerging adult respondents in romantic relationships, residing in Bekasi City, selected using a non-probability sampling technique with a quota sampling method. The instruments used in this study were the Multidimensional Jealousy Scale (MJS) and the Self-Liking/Self-Competence Scale-Revised (SLCS-R). The results of the Pearson’s Product Moment correlation test showed a significant negative relationship between self-esteem and jealousy (r = -0.856; p .001). This indicates that the higher an individual’s self-esteem, the lower their level of jealousy in a romantic relationship. Conversely, individuals with lower self-esteem tend to experience higher jealousy. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This study highlights the important role of self-esteem in shaping emotional dynamics within romantic relationships.

Abstract

Stunting dan gizi buruk cukup menjadi sorotan di Indonesia. Dalam menurunkan prevalensi wasting serta memperbaiki skor IMT/U Prabowo-Gibran menggagas program makan siang gratis sebagai upaya pemberian makanan bergizi kepada anak-anak di sekolah dan pesantren. Peneliti mencoba melihat dampak kebijakan tersebut terhadap siswa dan pemerintah melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif serta melakukan refleksi pribadi untuk menjaga objektivitas. Program makan siang gratis melihat status gizi anak terutama dari keluarga miskin dengan menambah variasi makanan dan nutrisi penting. Namun dampaknya terhadap stunting belum konsisten karena dipengaruhi faktor sosial ekonomi dan kebijakan. Sehingga dibutuhkan intervensi tambahan dan evaluasi berkelanjutan agar efektivitas program optimal dan berkelanjutan.
