Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of pesantren-based character education in addressing juvenile delinquency, through a case study at Pondok Pesantren Fadllillah Tambak Sumur Sidoarjo. Employing qualitative methods and a case study design, the research delves into understanding how character education in pesantren contributes to combating juvenile delinquency. Data were collected through document analysis, observation, and in-depth interviews with pesantren administrators, teachers, and students. The results indicate that character education at Pondok Pesantren Fadllillah makes a positive contribution through fostering religious values, social projects, and leadership training. The character education approach, centered on Islamic teachings and noble ethics, along with intensive guidance from kyai (spiritual leaders) and pesantren administrators, has a positive impact on adolescent behavior. This research provides crucial insights for educational institutions and communities, supporting an understanding of the potential of pesantren-based character education in addressing juvenile delinquency and cultivating a high-quality younger generation. It is hoped that the findings contribute to the development of more effective character education methods in various educational institutions.

Abstract

Self-efficacy plays a crucial role that should be instilled in every individual as it significantly impacts one's success. This research aims to assess the level of self-efficacy among junior high school (SMP) students and its implications for guidance and counseling services. The study adopts a survey design with a population of SMP students and a sample of 87 students selected through simple random sampling. The research instrument used is a self-efficacy scale, and data analysis is conducted using descriptive quantitative methods. The research findings indicate that SMP students have a moderate level of self-efficacy. These results can serve as a reference for guidance and counseling teachers to assist students in enhancing their self-efficacy.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the positive impact of implementing group counseling in reducing bullying behavior. The research method employed is quantitative with an experimental design, using a Pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test design type. The study population includes all eighth-grade students, with a sample of 10 students selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used is a Likert-scale bullying behavior questionnaire. Data analysis yields a calculated t-value greater than the critical t-value, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) proposing a significant influence of group counseling services on bullying behavior is accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) suggesting no significant impact is rejected. Group counseling has proven to have a significant effect in reducing bullying behavior among students, as evidenced by the comparison of pretest and posttest scores. The findings of this research contribute significantly to the development of group counseling intervention strategies to address bullying behavior within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of traditional bakiak games on the gross motor skills of early childhood. The research adopts a quantitative approach with an experimental design, specifically utilizing a pre-experimental One Group Pretest-posttest design. The participants include all children at Mutiara Bunda Early Childhood Education (PAUD), amounting to 18 children, who were selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation sheets. Prerequisite tests, such as normality and homogeneity tests, were conducted, followed by hypothesis testing using the t-test. The findings indicate that the t-table value at a significance level of 5% supports the research hypothesis, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. The findings of this research underline the importance of incorporating traditional games like bakiak into early childhood education to enhance gross motor skills.

Abstract

The Utilization of Digital Applications in Education Facilitates the Teaching and Learning Process. Quizlet, as one such application for language learning, is examined in this research to assess its effectiveness in enhancing Early English vocabulary for 5-6 years old. The research employs a quantitative method through surveys, collecting data via questionnaires based on theoretical frameworks. Results indicate that the use of Quizlet enhances English vocabulary for young children, as evidenced by their recognition of English words. This suggests that Quizlet can aid teachers in introducing English to early learners, providing an alternative method to improve English vocabulary for young children. Future research may explore further developments in the utilization of similar applications.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the positive impact of group guidance using a muhasabah approach on improving students' learning attitudes. A strong learning attitude is considered crucial for individual success, and a lack of a good learning attitude can be a hindrance to achieving academic accomplishments. In this context, the study focuses on students identified with low learning attitudes. The research methodology employed is quantitative with a one-group pre-test-post-test experimental design. The sample consists of 15 students selected randomly using simple random sampling. Data collection is conducted through non-test techniques using a Likert scale to measure students' learning attitudes. The results indicate that group guidance with a muhasabah approach has a significant influence on enhancing students' learning attitudes. These findings contribute to our understanding of the effectiveness of this method as a strategy to boost motivation and improve students' learning attitudes in the pursuit of academic success.

Abstract

This essay seeks to uncover, examine and analyse the provision of Islamic education in both Indonesia and South Korea. Comparisons were made in respect of infrastructure, curriculum, scope and reach, professionalism, funding and other areas, and potential for improvements identified. By examining existing research, publications, newspaper articles, journal publications, statistics and other data and information sources, it is apparent that Korea is severely lacking in Islamic education provisions, whereas this is not generally the case in Indonesia. This is primarily owing to demographic, historical and social reasons. However, with the declining population of Korea, and a birth-rate unable to reach even a stable replacement-rate, Korea will be forced to meet labour needs by way of immigration. Accordingly, with the arrival of more Muslim workers, and a higher number of Muslim students, the Muslim of population is likely to significantly increase, as will the rate of Korean Muslims by way of conversion to Islam.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of a realistic mathematics learning approach (PMR) on the ability to recognize the concept of numbers. This research is a quantitative research with pre-experimental design. This research was conducted at Pertiwi Batusangkar Kindergarten, Tanah Datar District. The data collection technique in this study is total sampling. In general, the results of this study indicate that the open-ended learning approach has a significant effect, that t0 is greater than the tt value table (14.01> 2.9980), so the null hypothesis (h0) proposed is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (ha) accepted to develop the ability to recognize children's number concepts at the age of 4-5 years. Thus the realistic mathematics education learning approach (PMR) has an effect on the introduction of the concept of numbers in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between students' thinking patterns and their academic achievement in the subject of Social Sciences. The research methodology involves conducting the Lilliefors Normality Test to ensure the data follows a normal distribution and the Product Moment Correlation Test to analyze the correlation between variables. The sample selection is based on random sampling technique using the Slovin Formula, resulting in a sample size of 32 students. The thinking patterns variable is measured using a questionnaire distributed to the selected students as research respondents, while academic achievement is obtained from the students' report card scores. The analysis results reveal a significant and strong positive relationship between students' thinking patterns and their academic achievement in the 8th grade at SMPN 3 Kota Solok. This finding suggests that students who exhibit favorable thinking patterns are more likely to achieve higher academic performance in Social Sciences. Therefore, it is recommended for educators to pay attention to fostering and enhancing students' thinking patterns to promote better academic outcomes. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing empirical evidence on the importance of thinking patterns in relation to academic achievement in the field of Social Sciences.
