Abstract

Building interest and entrepreneurial spirit in the younger generation is not easy, the perception that entrepreneurship is not an attractive or profitable career choice is one of the obstacles in building interest and developing an entrepreneurial spirit among young people, this perception causes young people's interest in entrepreneurship to still be very low. This service aims to provide entrepreneurship training in order to build economic independence for students at Vocational High School SMK Kartini 7 Surabaya. Generation Z is a generation that is expected to be able to contribute to participating in encouraging economic development and improving welfare, improving welfare starts for themselves, family, friends and the surrounding community. Inability to see business opportunities, lack of ideas or concepts, lack of knowledge and skills, fear of failure, inability to manage and face risks, lack of self-confidence, lack of support from people around them, all of these are factors that hinder the growth of interest and entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation. For this reason, efforts are needed to overcome these obstacles, through entrepreneurship training. Entrepreneurship training aims to foster interest and build an entrepreneurial spirit among vocational school students and build awareness that entrepreneurship is very important to increase potential and self-development, build an independent, creative and innovative spirit, a tough generation that does not give up easily.

Abstract

Household waste has become a pressing issue that needs to be addressed immediately, starting from the household level. Integrated solutions for household waste management have been implemented, both in the form of local regulations and direct socialization of household waste management to residents. However, optimization has not yet been achieved due to the increasing amount of household waste each year. One of the contributions from universities is to provide socialization and training on household waste management, covering materials on the sorting of organic and inorganic waste, the making of organic fertilizer for the community, the dissemination of organic fertilizer use, and an explanation of the impacts of poorly managed waste from an environmental perspective. The program implemented in this community service is the socialization of organic fertilizer making assisted by compost bags in Kedanyang Village, Gresik. Organic fertilizer made using compost bags is rich in carbon and nitrogen compounds, which are good for plant growth. This socialization also aims to reduce the impact of waste disposal on the environment, such as soil, water, and air pollution, and its effects on human health. In this compost bag method, the basic materials are dry and wet waste in a certain ratio, assisted by EM4 activator so that the composting process can run better. Organic fertilizer is made within 3-4 weeks before use and is in solid form.

Abstract

The development of the use of social media is an opportunity that needs to be utilized well, so that it can be used as a marketing technique that can increase the acceptance of prospective new students. In the current digital era, e-marketing techniques are one of the marketing techniques that are taken into account. Social media, which is an application that is widely used by many people and can be easily accessed at any time, is one of the fastest ways to disseminate information. Prospective students and parents of prospective students can easily get information. Pawyatan 3 Vocational School Daha Kediri seizes the opportunities that exist. However, SMK Pawyatan 3 Daha Kediri has difficulty marketing using social media. For this reason, social media management training is needed so that it can be used as marketing media. So that Pawyatan 3 Daha Kediri Vocational School is able to make good use of social media and can expand the scope of marketing and increase prospective students.

Abstract

Financial Accounting Training provided to coffee farmers in Karangpring Village aims to improve community welfare through a better understanding of financial recording. This program is designed to help farmers understand the importance of proper bookkeeping, so they can manage their coffee business more efficiently and accurately determine profits. This training was carried out with a socialization approach and direct practice in making simple financial reports. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the training is carried out through pretests and posttests which measure the increase in participants' understanding of the material being taught. The evaluation results show that this training was successful in increasing the farmers' ability to apply accounting principles, which is expected to have a positive impact on their welfare.

Abstract

Our community service partner is a hijab convection micro business located in Nglongko Hamlet, Kebontemu Village, Peterongan District, Jombang Regency. There are three main problems faced by partners, namely obstacles to business capital, obstacles in implementing budget transparency, and monotonous marketing strategies. The purpose of this service program is to provide assistance in the procurement of raw materials, hold counseling and simulation of excel-based integrated financial reports and the implementation of marketing via social media and marketplaces. The method used in our service is to conduct simulations and practice. It is hoped that with this training, service partners will be able to run their next business ventures well.

Abstract

Bulusari Village has great potential in developing agrotourism based on the utilization of mangosteen leaf waste, which can improve the village economy and overcome environmental waste problems. This study aims to analyze the production costs and cost of herbal tea products from mangosteen leaf waste to support the development of agrotourism in Bulusari Village. Through the full costing method, the production cost per package is Rp 18,500, with a selling price set at Rp. 24,000 per package. The results of the study indicate that this herbal tea product innovation not only produces profitable economic value, but also opens up new business opportunities and creates jobs for local communities. Thus, the utilization of mangosteen leaf waste can support the sustainability of the village economy and increase the attractiveness of nature-based tourism in Bulusari Village.

Abstract

Health promotion is an important effort to increase public awareness about healthy living behaviour. In the digital era, innovation in the delivery of health information is the key to reaching audiences more effectively. This article discusses the implementation of video editing as an innovative tool to support health promotion at the Kedungsolo Community Health Centre. Through community service activities, the team provides training in creating and editing educational videos to staff. This training covers basic concepts of video editing, use of software, and strategies for delivering health messages that are interesting and easy to understand. The results of the activity show that staff are able to produce quality informative videos that are distributed via social media and other digital platforms. These videos have succeeded in increasing community participation in health centre health, such as immunizations, health checks and disease prevention. By implementing this technology, Kedungsolo Community Health Centre can optimize digital-based health promotion to reach more people at large.

Abstract

Community service activities at SMKS Muhammadiyah Jatiroto Lumajang aim to improve the understanding and skills of school managers related to tax obligations and financial management. With the increasing number of Muhammadiyah schools and the challenges faced in school tax management, this program is carried out through financial literacy training, tax calculation simulations, and assistance in the preparation of tax reports. During the period of January 6 to 8, 2025, the training was successfully attended by school managers, who showed a 75% increase in understanding after the training. The simulation of tax calculation and assistance in the preparation of tax reports also showed positive results, with 95% of participants able to complete their tasks well. This activity not only improves tax literacy, but also contributes to transparency and accountability in school financial management. The next stage plan includes evaluation, follow-up training, the formation of a tax management team, and socialization to stakeholders. Thus, this activity is expected to have a long-term impact on financial and educational management at SMKS Muhammadiyah Jatiroto and other schools around it.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has a major impact on the world of education, especially in improving the quality of interactive and interesting learning media. One platform that can be utilized is Canva for Education, a web-based graphic design application designed to support creative teaching and learning processes. Despite its great potential, the use of Canva for Education at SDN Arjasa 1 Jember is still relatively minimal due to limited understanding and lack of training for teachers and students. The majority of the learning process at this school is still conventional, which has an impact on decreasing students' interest in learning. The form of activity to answer this challenge is in the form of socialization activities and training in the use of Canva for Education which aims to improve teachers' digital competence and encourage students' creativity in creating visual learning media. This activity was provided by lecturers at the Jember State Polytechnic. With this training, it is hoped that a more interesting learning atmosphere will be created, as well as encouraging the mastery of 21st century skills such as creativity, communication, collaboration, and problem solving for students from an early age.

Abstract

The Microsoft PowerPoint presentation program for Aisyiyah members in Gresik Regency aims to improve digital literacy among women in Islamic community organizations. Through this training, participants will learn the basics of using PowerPoint, such as creating slides, inserting media, and using animations. The training format includes demonstrations, Q&A sessions, and practical exercises. The results of the activity showed that participants were highly motivated and able to apply the skills they learned to organizational activities. The training not only improved the technical skills of the women but also enabled them to carry out their organizational tasks more actively and professionally. This initiative is a strategic step to encourage the digitalization of organizations and strengthen the role of women in modern society.
