Abstract

Rare earth metal frequently utilized in technological advancements is cerium. The high utilization of cerium correlates with the depletion of primary REEs reserves and the accumulation of secondary materials that can enter aquatic environments. Recycling and recovery of REEs through methods such as solvent extraction, filtration, and adsorption are commonly employed. Adsorption is chosen due to the abundance of adsorbent materials in nature, simple fabrication, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Calcium alginate biosorbent loaded with magnetite (Ca-Alg/Fe3O4) has been used to adsorb (Ce3+)aq, with optimal conditions achieved at Ca-alginate:Fe3O4 ratio of 2:1 (w/w), 0.075 g, pH 4, a contact time of 210 minutes, and 250 ppm, [Ce3+]0. The adsorption process follows the Langmuir isotherm model with qmax at 50.505 mg/g. Hence, the Ca-Alg/Fe3O4 biosorbent shows potential in adsorbing (Ce3+)aq.

Abstract

This study examined the predictive power of personality traits (extraversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, and neuroticism) on the financial well-being of college students in Davao City. In addition, this study used a correlational-quantitative design. 307 college students from various public and private institutions in the City participated in the online survey via Google forms. Hypotheses were tested using regression analyses in SmartPLS 4.0 software by the researchers. The findings of the study show that only extraversion (R=0.205, p-value=0.002) and neuroticism (R=0.181, p-value=0.001) are significantly and positively associated with financial well-being. On the other hand, there was no discernible correlation found in the hypothesized paths between agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness, toward financial well-being. The regression model’s R² value of 0.130 implies that the personality traits can explain 13% of the variance in college students’ financial well-being. Finally, the study has provided insights for creating targeted interventions and initiatives that will improve college students’ overall well-being alongside financial literacy.

Abstract

The quality of latex significantly affects the quality level of rubber produced, with one of its parameters being the impurity level, with a standard value of 0.03%. The impurity level strongly influences the rubber quality, where higher impurity levels correspond to lower rubber quality, and vice versa. The research method employed was experimental and calculation using mass balance. The calculated results indicated impurity levels in the rubber as follows: 0.0059%, 0.0069%, 0.0074%, 0.0419%, 0.0054%, 0.0429%, and 0.0444%. The average total impurity level was 0.0219%. However, some rubber samples did not meet quality standards due to contaminated tapping equipment, inadequate washing processes, and damaged filtration tools. In the mass balance at the drying station, the first input material was 125 kg/hour with a water component balance of 50%, HAS (Hevea Acidic Solution) 12%, SMBS (Sodium Metabisulfite) 8%, and latex 30%. The second input material is 18.75 kg/hour, consisting of 100% steam. The output material at the drying station is 143.75 kg/hour, with a water component balance of 43.47%, HAS 10.43%, SMBS 6.95%, latex 26.08%, and steam 13.07%.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the dynamic landscape of artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on the consequences of the extensive utilization of ChatGPT's which participates in transformation it from a conversational language model to a potential tool that facilitates plagiarism for research purposes because of research obsession. As the digital age advances and with the increasing prevalence of academic dishonesty and content theft, there is a growing need for sophisticated tools to identify and fight plagiarism. As a result, the concerns about the ethical use of artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly important. This article examines the impact of research obsession on the development of ChatGPT and the unintended consequences that led to its misuse as a plagiarism tool. This study aims too to explore the underlying factors that have a part in this change, the ethical implications, and the possible remedies that can be used to help in to responsible AI development. The study hopes to contribute to the advancement of the discussion about plagiarism that depends on ChatGPT and enhance discussions on the responsible and ethical use of such technologies. By debating the effect of the research obsession on shifting ChatGPT to a tool for plagiarism, the study hopes to open new avenues for enhancing the integrity of academic and creative works in the digital era.

Abstract

The road corridor of WR Soepratman Street in Bengkulu City is located within the education, trade and service sectors. These sectors have cultures that contrast with each other. These cultural differences are certainly not favorable in terms of functionality. People in the education sector really need the trade and service sector to support educational contributions. Meanwhile, trade and services need the education sector to improve the economy. Education cannot be separated from culture, even the quality of education is a measure of a nation's culture. Trade and services are actually fulfilled by educated people. Based on the research, there is an intersection of the two sectors in a commercial and cultural frame, without changing the functions that have been formed by maximizing the combination of the two sector functions and blurring the existing gaps.
