Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability possessed by students. There are still many students who do not have the ability to solve problems well. Problem-solving abilities in the material of natural resources are still rarely developed. Conventional learning models with lecture methods are still the learning models that are often applied during learning activities. Technology-based learning media are also rarely applied in learning. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a difference and how big the difference is between the application of the Nearpod-based AIR learning model and the conventional learning model on the problem-solving abilities of grade 4 students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The difference between the experimental class and the control class can also be seen through the results of the N-Gain score. The experimental class produced an N-Gain score of 0.66 while the control class produced an N-Gain score of 0.38. Data analysis using the T-Independent test calculation with a significance level of 0.05 found the final result of 0.000 which is less than 0.05 so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the data analysis carried out, it can be concluded that there is a difference between the application of the Nearpod-based AIR learning model and the conventional learning model on the problem-solving abilities of grade 4 students. Keywords: Air learning model Nearpod, problem solving ability, grade 4 student.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning medium based on local wisdom for literacy material at SDN SIEM, Aceh Besar, to enhance students' understanding of local culture and their literacy skills. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires administered to teachers and students. The results of the study indicate that the Acehnese folklore-based learning media in the form of animated videos successfully increased students' motivation and interest in literacy learning. This media also received excellent evaluations in terms of content quality, design, and instructional feasibility based on validations by subject matter and media experts. The implementation of the media in the classroom demonstrated a 30% improvement in students' learning outcomes compared to the period before using the local wisdom-based media. This finding highlights that integrating local wisdom into learning media can serve as an innovative alternative to support literacy education in elementary schools, particularly in the Aceh Besar region. Therefore, local wisdom-based learning media are suitable for broader implementation as part of a teaching strategy that supports character building while preserving local cultural values.

Abstract

The implementation of the 2013 curriculum in mathematics learning in Elementary Schools aims to enhance education quality by fostering critical thinking through a scientific approach and authentic assessment. However, its application faces challenges, particularly in integrating methods and media. This study examines the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum in mathematics learning at the Elementary School level through a literature study using a qualitative approach with content analysis of ten relevant articles. The findings reveal: (1) The primary obstacle is teacher readiness in preparing learning tools and conducting authentic assessments, compounded by unequal distribution of books and resources; (2) Teachers hold a strategic role in fostering active student involvement. While some still employ conventional methods, professional training is essential to help teachers adapt to interactive approaches tailored to students' needs; (3) The scientific approach, integration of technology, and application of ethnomathematics significantly improve learning quality. These elements encourage critical thinking, technology utilization, and contextual relevance, making mathematics more engaging and applicable; and (4) Authentic assessment offers a comprehensive evaluation of attitudes, knowledge, and skills but requires adequate support and training for effective implementation. Overall, the 2013 curriculum holds substantial potential to improve education quality if supported by teacher readiness, sufficient facilities, and ongoing training. Addressing these challenges can create more interactive, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences for students, supporting the achievement of national education goals.
