Abstract

The provision of clean water in Indonesia is a people's right guaranteed by the state, especially to meet the minimum daily basic needs for a healthy, clean and adequate quantity, maintained quality and affordable. The availability of fresh water as a source of clean water illustrates the potential for water availability and sustainability. The limited amount of fresh water is a challenge to meet community needs in the form of transportation facilities, toilets for local communities and aquaculture. This condition is also affected by climate change, especially for Indonesia which is in the tropics. The water parameters of the Batang Tapakis River illustrate that the quality of river water is influenced by the people around the river and seawater has entered the river. Community empowerment in providing access to drinking water through community-based activities is a strategic step to overcome the scarcity of fresh water. Participation of the community, government and various related parties can provide reinforcement and commitment so as to achieve the availability of water sources with an insight into sustainable development

Abstract

Most students need help understanding physics material, especially Newton's laws. This is due to the thought that physics material is complex and requires memorizing formulas. This study aims to make it easier for students to understand physics material through Scientific-Based Textbooks. The research method uses research and development, which is used to create teaching material products and test product effectiveness. This study uses four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The results showed that the teaching materials made in the form of textbooks were valid according to the results of the validation instruments that the validator had validated. The validator instruments include the eligibility of textbooks in the form of material, presentation systematics, language, contextual aspects, accessibility, navigation, communication, display quality, and the overall function of the media. The results of the percentage of validators related to the language feasibility of the Physics Textbook show the average rate by the two validators, namely 88.3% and 85%. The resulting percentage is feasible because the validity coefficient is > 85%. These results indicate that the Scientific Based Physics Textbook can be used after revision

Abstract

Some people manipulate sales in marketplaces and other retail settings by combining beef and pork since the prices are so high. In addition to educating the public about these distinctions, this research aims to develop a technological solution for recognizing and differentiating between pork and beef. The proposed hybrid model, a combination of a Resnet-50 and a Support Vector Machine (SVM), is introduced for the classification of Beef and Pork Meat. In this hybrid model, the Resnet-50 functions as a powerful feature extractor, then utilizing its inherent ability to automatically capture distinctive features from diverse and highly specific meat image datasets. The SVM, serving as the binary classifier, effectively utilizes the extracted features for precise classification. The hybrid model achieves an outstanding accuracy of 100%, surpassing the performance of individual classifiers, with Resnet-50 achieving 97% accuracy and Resnet-50 achieving 97% obtained from the Hybrid model by gaining the best parameter C is 0,1 and the Kernel is linear. This remarkable outcome signifies the synergistic effectiveness of combining Resnet-50 and SVM.

Abstract

Photocatalytic paints have proven to be a promising solution for combating air pollution in urban environments by breaking down harmful pollutants into harmless by-products. These paints interact with meteorological parameters when exposed outdoors, and we have investigated the influence of these parameters on the degradation of the exposed paint. We conducted experiments in a controlled laboratory in which samples of the photocatalytic paint were exposed to different temperatures and humidity levels. Using a standardized test method, we determined the constant reaction rate and analyzed the data to understand the effects of temperature and humidity on photocatalytic efficiency. The results show a significant effect of temperature and humidity on the constant reaction rate. Temperatures from 10°C to 30°C and humidities from 10% to 50% were found to increase the reaction rate, leading to an improvement in photocatalytic efficiency. However, too wide a temperature range (30℃ to 60℃) and too high a humidity (55% to 80%) had a negative effect on the thermal stability of the paint and its long-term durability. Over time, we observed an increasing loss of adhesion and fading of the paint as temperatures and humidity increased, leading to a deterioration of the photocatalytic paint. In summary, while moderate temperatures and humidity improve photocatalytic efficiency, extreme conditions can negatively affect the stability and long-term performance of the paint.

Abstract

In the digital era, integrating technology in education provides a great opportunity to improve the quality of learning. Using smart devices and educational applications creates an interactive learning experience, expands access to global resources, and facilitates collaboration-based learning. In this context, smartphone-based mobile learning (M-learning), especially Android, has become a popular learning medium among teenagers. This technology offers great potential in increasing the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process, especially in materials that require complex visualization, such as thermodynamics in physics. The abstract concept of thermodynamics is often difficult for students to understand without adequate visualization, leading to misconceptions. To overcome this problem, Augmented Reality (AR) technology can be used as a learning medium to combine the real world with digital content in real time, allowing for clearer and more concrete visualizations. The development of AR-based learning media on thermodynamics materials, such as Thermodynamics-Augmented Reality, is expected to reduce misconceptions, increase creativity, and facilitate students' deeper understanding of complex concepts.

Abstract

This study examines the reconstruction of community knowledge into scientific knowledge related to ecotourism in Lemor Botanical Garden and Lemor Spring Tourism. The local community possesses a profound understanding of the conservation and ecological functions of these areas; however, a gap remains between local wisdom and scientific concepts. This research employs a qualitative case study approach, utilizing field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the community recognizes Lemor Botanical Garden as a center for the conservation of rare plant species, an educational site, and an environment-based ecotourism destination. Meanwhile, Lemor Spring Tourism is believed to offer health benefits and spiritual value, some of which can be scientifically explained through the mineral composition of the water and its balanced ecosystem. Certain traditional aspects, such as customary rituals and beliefs in misfortune, are more symbolic than scientifically grounded. The reconstruction of this knowledge is crucial for enhancing the sustainable management of these areas, optimizing the scientific potential of ecotourism, and improving community welfare through a conservation and sustainable tourism approach. Thus, the synergy between science and local wisdom can strengthen more effective and sustainable management strategies for both areas.
