Abstract

This study aims to assess the landslide susceptibility of Hukuanakota Village, located in Inamosol District, Seram Bagian Barat Regency, by analyzing various environmental and physical parameters. The parameters examined include slope gradient, rainfall, soil texture, soil permeability, effective soil depth, groundwater depth, vegetation density, previous landslide events, and land use. Utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, this research successfully developed a landslide susceptibility zoning map, categorized into four levels: low, moderate, high, and very high. The findings reveal that areas with low susceptibility are generally located in flat regions with stable land use, such as settlements and paddy fields, while areas with very high susceptibility are concentrated in steep slopes with high rainfall, poor vegetation cover, and previous landslide occurrences. The study also emphasizes the importance of mitigating strategies such as vegetation planting, the creation of drainage systems, and routine monitoring of soil and slope conditions. The landslide susceptibility map serves as a valuable tool for local governments and communities, providing essential information for land use planning, disaster risk reduction, and improving preparedness against future landslide disasters. With the map’s aid, more effective and targeted mitigation measures can be implemented to reduce the impact of landslides and enhance the community's resilience to natural disasters.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the production potential of rice farmers and their income levels in Kobisonta Village. The research utilises primary data collected through observation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique employed is quantitative analysis with a descriptive approach. The results indicate that the total revenue of rice farmers amounts to Rp. 312,500,000, with total production costs reaching Rp. 112,464,201, resulting in a net income of Rp. 200,035,799. Further analysis reveals that the primary factors influencing farmers' income are revenue and production costs. To increase their income, farmers are encouraged to optimise production efficiency by reducing unnecessary expenses. Additionally, diversification of agricultural activities and the adoption of modern agricultural technology can enhance productivity and farmers' welfare. Therefore, support from the government and related institutions is essential in providing production facilities and technical assistance for farmers.

Abstract

The price of staple goods plays a crucial role in determining consumer purchasing power, especially in areas where economic conditions depend on market price stability. This study aims to analyze the effect of staple food prices on the purchasing power of the community in Wayame Village RT/RW 007/004. The research method employed a quantitative approach using simple linear regression analysis to measure the relationship between staple food prices (independent variable) and purchasing power (dependent variable). Primary data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 72 respondents, while secondary data was obtained from relevant sources such as statistical reports and previous research. The results indicate that prices significantly influence purchasing power, with a regression coefficient of 0.356, meaning that an increase of one unit in price results in a 0.356 unit increase in purchasing power. The t-value of 5.291 and significance level (Sig.) of 0.000 confirm that price has a significant effect on purchasing power (p < 0.05). Additionally, the correlation coefficient (R) of 0.534 suggests a moderate positive relationship between price and purchasing power. Meanwhile, the R Square value of 0.286 indicates that 28.6% of the variability in purchasing power can be explained by price, while 71.4% is influenced by other factors not analyzed in this study. These findings suggest that competitive and stable prices can enhance purchasing power, whereas significant price increases may reduce people's ability to meet their basic needs. Therefore, sellers should set prices that align with consumer purchasing power, while government intervention is necessary to monitor and stabilize staple food prices through policies that support economic stability.

Abstract

The Rofaerwar ritual or sacred well cleansing is a cultural tradition held once every ten years by the people of Lonthoir Village, symbolizing reverence for ancestors and the preservation of a sacred water source. This practice represents a generational integration of Islamic values with local customs. The aim of this study is to explore the ritual’s implementation, symbolic meanings, and the role of Islamic principles embedded within. A descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach was employed. Findings indicate that Rofaerwar is not merely a physical act but a spiritual and communal event imbued with meaning. Elements such as prayer, deliberation, and the use of Islamic symbols like kain gaja and karaso strengthen the ritual’s religious depth. The study demonstrates that Islamic faith and tradition coexist harmoniously without conflicting values. The implication is that the sustainability of such rituals requires active involvement of traditional leaders, youth, and religious institutions as part of a cultural development strategy. It is recommended to enhance local wisdom-based education to preserve core values amidst modern shifts.

Abstract

Informal transportation such as motorcycle taxi stands at Mardika Market, Ambon City plays a crucial role in community mobility, yet the emergence of online transportation creates new challenges for drivers’ income. This study aims to analyze the income level of motorcycle taxi drivers and the factors influencing it. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with ten drivers. Findings reveal that the average income ranges from IDR 2,050,000 to 3,700,000 with operational costs between IDR 550,000 and 950,000, alongside a decrease in passengers after the arrival of online platforms. Key factors affecting income include working hours, fares, and ownership of side jobs. The study highlights how drivers sustain their livelihoods through adaptive strategies despite intense competition with app-based services. These results enrich the discourse on the sustainability of informal labor while providing insights for local governments and transport associations to design supportive policies.
