<![CDATA[He increasing development of technology and information means that everyone can never leave the hands of this Smartphone. Because, this gadget is very useful as a means or medium for exchanging information. Apart from just exchanging information, smartphones are used as a medium for seeking knowledge. However, many young children abuse the use of smartphones without parental supervision, which ultimately has negative impacts, one of which can endanger children's motor skills and endanger children's activities and lives. This research aims to find out how mobile phones influence the social emotional development of early childhood. In this research the author also uses qualitative methods with a literature approach. The results of the research show that the influence of these gadgets is very influential on children's emotional development because this includes mental disturbances, emotional instability. So, children's use of smartphones should be accompanied by strict supervision by parents.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to analyze the use of learning media on the motivation to learn civics in grade 1 elementary school students. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were the homeroom teachers of class 1 of Attaufiq Elementary School in Medan and students of class 1 of Attaufiq Elementary School in Medan. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews. The results of the research show that students in class 1 of SD Attaufiq still have low learning motivation in civics subjects. The cause of the low learning motivation of grade 1 students at Attufiq Elementary School is due to the teacher's lack of ability to explain the material so that the learning process becomes monotonous and as a result students feel bored and bored during learning. Therefore, learning media is really needed to help students in the learning process with the existence of learning media. can help teachers clarify the meaning of the message they want to convey from a lesson theory so that it can motivate students to acquire certain knowledge and skills, and also with this learning media the teaching and learning process no longer seems monotonous.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper examines the comparison between two literary works in the form of novels originating from Indonesia and Japan. The novels under study are "Sunyi Adalah Minuman Keras" by Sapardi Djoko Damono and "Convenience Store Woman" by Sayaka Murata. The issue discussed revolves around the personality system proposed by Sigmund Freud, namely id, ego, and superego, present in the two main characters of the novels. This research employs a qualitative research method with a comparative literary approach. The data in this study consist of words or sentences found in the novel "Sunyi Adalah Minuman Keras" and "Convenience Store Woman" involving the characters and related to Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. The data collection technique used was reading and note-taking. The research findings indicate that "Sunyi Adalah Minuman Keras" by Sapardi Djoko Damono and "Convenience Store Woman" by Sayaka Murata share many similarities in behavior between the two characters when viewed through Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, consisting of id, ego, and superego. The character Rara is more dominated by the id system, while Keiko is more dominated by the ego system.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to identify challenges and solutions to the use of effective Indonesian in academic discussions on campus, as well as its implications for improving the language skills of millennial students. The use of effective Indonesian in academic discussions on campus is important for millennial students. However, there are challenges faced in practice, such as inadequate language skills, the influence of trends in the use of foreign languages, and a less supportive campus environment. This study aims to identify challenges and solutions in the effective use of Indonesian in academic discussions on campus. The results show that the main challenges faced are internal factors, such as the lack of Indonesian language skills, as well as external factors, such as the campus environment that tends to encourage the use of foreign languages.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to analyze the assumption of similarities in English language through some Asian player of the game and language differences from the game chat. In order to analyze both the assumption of similarities in English language and language differences, this study used a descriptive qualitative method, taking multiple steps of playing and communicating together with some Asian player, taking several screenshots of the game chat. According to Genshin Impact’s producer interview video, Asian Genshin Impact player had different expressions in the conversation such as vocabulary, utterance and even had different cultural background from where they live. Finally, because this is related to the world of fantasy games, the researcher invites readers to include participation to increase the effectiveness of communication between fellow players to support the development of English in the world and in anticipation of persuade young generations and general people to learn more their background culture.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted by describing what happened in the field regarding the use of prokem language among students and the existence of Indonesian language at this time. The first research objective is the reason students use prokem language, secondly how often students use prokem language, thirdly the impact of using prokem language on the existence of Indonesian language. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews with students majoring in geography education at Medan State University, observation and literature study to provide supporting data from the analysis of data obtained in the field. The results and discussion obtained that students today are very often using prokem language in daily communication and in the campus environment, the reason they use prokem language is because they want to be up to date and follow current trends. <![CDATA[The background of this research was that there were several problems regarding students' English achievement and their higher order thinking skills. Theory said that higher order thinking skills can be a tool that can help improve student learning achievement. Researchers found there was a difference between theory and facts in the field. Teachers have implemented HOTS in the learning process, but English scores are still low. Therefore, researchers want to know the relationship between students' HOTS and their English achievement. The design of this research is correlational research. Researchers used test instrument to collect students' HOTS scores, and documentation was used to collect students' English scores in their second semester report cards. The population of this research was all seventh grade students, which consist two classes. The sample of this research was class VII A, totaling 24 students. The sampling for this research was cluster sampling. Researchers used Bivariate Pearson Correlation to determine the correlation between the two variables. The results of this research showed that the correlation coefficient between the two variables is 0.471. Then the magnitude of the correlation is sufficient, around 0.40-0.60. Thus, there is a positive correlation between students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS) and their English achievement in the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Koto Besar.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was motivated by the author with the aim of identifying the moral values in several characters in the novel Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. In this research, researchers used descriptive qualitative research methodology by presenting data in the form of explanations or descriptions. From the research data, a series of events were found which were then analyzed accordance with the object of research object on moral values, including; human relationships with themselves, human relationships with other humans, and human relationships with God. Then the moral values embedded in literary works can be seen as a form of ethics or moral guidance that accompanies them. The presence of these values is not merely an addition or supporting device, but rather an integral element that enriches the meaning of the literary works as a whole. Therefore, it can be interpreted that literary works. Especially in the form of novels, are not only narrative for pleasure, but also embed moral messages that have the potential to arouse the readers’ awareness of moral values faced in everyday life.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to increase students' interest in learning in class VII-2 National Hero Middle School in Indonesian language subjects through the use of audio-visual learning media. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. Data collection was carried out by observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The research results show an increase in students' interest in learning based on the results of observations and questionnaires. At the pre-research stage, observation results showed that students' interest in learning was still low. After implementing audio-visual learning media, students' interest in learning increased. It can be concluded that the use of audio-visual learning media can increase interest in learning Indonesian for class VII-2 students at National Hero Middle School for the 2023/2024 academic year.]]>
