Abstract

This study is identifying elementary schools teacher attitudes towards video conferencing platform implementation during Covid-19 pandemic. The research aims include (1) to identify teachers’ attitude towards implementing video conferencing platforms for learning (2) to identify teachers' challenges encountered during implementing video conferencing and how to overcome that challenge. The 103 elementary schools teachers were included. The teacher selected by simple random sampling techniques. The questionnaire's content is based on teachers' attitudes toward using video conferencing in the classroom during the COVID-19 epidemic, as measured by the following indicators: efficiency, effectiveness, motivation, and variety of obstacles. The elementary schools teachers’ attitude shows positive responses to video conferencing in learning such as providing various learning activities, providing flexibility in teaching process, easiness to access learning materials, and ease in assessing and monitoring students' learning progress. Furthermore, the result reveals the majority of the elementary schools teachers faced technical issues and availability as obstacles in implementing a video conferencing platform. The majority of elementary schools teachers were able to resolve these technological difficulties by exploring other teaching strategies and seeking professional advice.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the characteristics of formative test items in elementary schools by comparing the functionality of distractors based on classical and modern test theories. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The data collection technique used in this study was documentation. The results of the analysis indicate that out of 25 test items, 16% were easy, 72% were moderate, and 12% were difficult, with 3 items not fitting. The measurement results using modern test theory showed that 60% of the distractors were not functioning effectively, and 24% of the items needed to have their answer keys checked, while the measurement using classical test theory showed that 56% of the distractors were not functioning effectively, and 12% of the items needed to have their answer keys checked. Less effective distractors indicate that they are selected more frequently by high-ability groups than low-ability groups. In this context, compared to classical test theory, modern Rasch model is capable of providing more complex results and detecting a greater number of ineffectively functioning distractors. However, in its implementation, the modern Rasch model is more challenging than classical test theory.

Abstract

Guru dapat menggunakan ice breaking untuk menjaga semangat belajar peserta didik selama pembelajaran di kelas dan membantu mengatasi kebosanan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji penggunaan ice breaking untuk meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar peserta didik di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas II dan kelas III, sedangkan objek penelitiannya ada guru kelas II dan kelas III. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara dengan guru kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ice breaking di SD Negeri 050628 Tanjung Langkat memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemulihan kondisi dan lingkungan kelas yang kondusif memungkinkan peserta didik untuk fokus menyimak materi yang disampaikan oleh guru. Meskipun ice breaking yang digunakan hanya melakukan gerakan fisik ringan seperti bersorak, bertepuk tangan, dan bernyanyi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi konsepsi calon guru sekolah dasar tentang pembelajaran seumur hidup melalui matematika. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, enam responden yang sedang menjalani pendidikan dalam program PGSD diwawancarai menggunakan pertanyaan semi-terstruktur. Hasil analisis data mengungkapkan bahwa para responden memiliki pemahaman dasar tentang pembelajaran seumur hidup, tetapi keragaman contoh yang mampu diberikan masih terbatas pada konteks tertentu. Tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya pemahaman mendalam tentang integrasi konsep tersebut, serta kurangnya contoh konkret yang relevan. Strategi untuk mengatasi tantangan ini mencakup pengembangan pendekatan pembelajaran yang kontekstual, peningkatan kolaborasi antara guru, orang tua, dan komunitas, serta pemanfaatan teknologi dalam mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif.

Abstract

Character education is something that is very important and is a common focus, one of which is in the field of education. Character education must be prepared and implemented from an early age and can be implemented at elementary school level students. Character education for elementary school students is an effort or effort to prepare a generation that has character that can bring change to the nation and country of Indonesia for the better. Therefore, character education must be truly implemented so that the hope is that in the future students will have character that is in accordance with religious teachings and be able to face more complex future challenges. The challenge for character formation is the development of technology and information. The development of technology and information makes it easy for negative foreign culture to be absorbed without a strong filter. External culture is a modern lifestyle that influences attitudes and behavior that are unconsciously deviating from the values ​​and nobility of the Indonesian nation. The growing phenomenon of students who do not heed ethical values. The failure of schools to grow people with character is because they only prioritize students' cognitive or academic abilities. The implementation of character education in elementary schools has not been carried out consistently. This research aims to examine the implementation of character education in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with library methods. Data analysis techniques are carried out interactively. Data collection techniques are listening and taking notes. Data validity uses triangulation of data sources and adequacy of references.

Abstract

The school's relationship with the community aims to advance the quality of children's learning and growth. A school is a building or institution for learning and teaching as well as a place to receive and give lessons. Meanwhile, society in simple terms is a group of people who interact or associate with each other with the same interests. School and society are two environments that cannot be separated, both have a very close relationship. School-community relations are a communication process between the school and the community to increase the need for educational activities and encourage community interest and cooperation in improving and developing the school. The community is expected to support and participate in developing the educational process in elementary schools. In this case, management needs to involve the community in educational activities in elementary schools.

Abstract

Dalam dunia pendidikan, pembelajaran sebagai suatu proses mencakup tiga unsur yang dapat dibedakan: tujuan pendidikan (pengajaran), proses pembelajaran, dan hasil belajar. Tujuan pendidikan pada hakikatnya adalah perubahan perilaku yang diharapkan dari siswa. Oleh karena itu, evaluasi hendaknya mengkaji derajat perubahan perilaku siswa setelah proses pembelajaran. Mengetahui apakah tujuan pendidikan telah tercapai memungkinkan kita mengambil langkah-langkah untuk meningkatkan pendidikan dalam hal bagaimana mengubah strategi pembelajaran dan meningkatkan kualitas siswa, dan untuk mencapai penyelesaian infrastruktur. Saran untuk mendukung terciptanya proses pembelajaran yang efektif, efisien, dan menguntungkan. Dengan kata lain, hasil evaluasi tidak hanya membantu menentukan apakah tujuan pembelajaran telah tercapai, tetapi juga membantu mendeteksi perubahan perilaku siswa dan melakukan upaya untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran dengan lebih baik.

Abstract

This research aims to improve thematic LKPD learning using a role-playing model in grade 5 elementary schools in Bengkulu City.This research is research and development (R&D) carried out by modifying Thiagarajan and Sammel's four-dimensional model.This research shows that LKPD in thematic learning using the role-playing model received a score of 78.10 in the "good" category at level 1 by LKPD experts and 89.25 in the "very good" category at level 2 by 90 students. He gave me the answer which is very good.Therefore, from the research that has been conducted it can be concluded that LKPD using the social and natural sciences (IPAS) role-playing learning model in the independent curriculum for grade IV elementary school can be classified as a very good LKPD and can be used for learning.

Abstract

The aim of this research is 1) to find out what assessments are used in science subjects at Riigi Algkooli 105292 Bandar Klippa, Percut Sei Tuan District, Class V, 2) to analyze the quality of assessment tools according to the rules. reliability and competence. Class V Science Exam Difficulties and Different Advantages of SD Negeri 105292 Bandar Klippa, Percut Sei Tuan District. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, namely. description of phenomena that occur in reality. All subjects were class V students at SD 105292 Bandar Klippa. As a primary data source, data sources are obtained from teachers and students, and as secondary data sources, documentation and questionnaires. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires and tests. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out using validation tests, test reliability, difficulty and distinguishing power. Validation was carried out by the researchers themselves and the validation expert group. Based on the results of observations, it is known that the question format used by teachers in evaluating scientific learning is multiple choice questions consisting of 15 questions, filler questions consisting of 10 numbers, and descriptive questions consisting of 10 questions. 15 questions. of 5 questions. The results of the validation test show that not all multiple choice questions are valid, only 4 out of 15 questions are valid. The form has 5 valid questions and all descriptive questions are recognized as valid. Expert validation also showed that of the 4 experts, only 1 expert showed that the results were quite valid, 3 validation experts showed that the questions were less valid. The reliability test shows that the multiple choice questions are not reliable, while the fill-in-the-blank and description questions are considered reliable. The difficulty level test shows that multiple choice questions have 3 categories of difficulty, namely hard, medium and easy questions, while for questions that can be filled in and are descriptive, only 2 categories of difficulty are found, namely. intermediate questions and easy questions. Finally, the differential power test shows that multiple choice questions have 4 different power categories, namely poor, sufficient, good, and very good. Meanwhile, there were excellent results on questions about filling in and describing different styles.

Abstract

Cognitive development is an important aspect of children's growth, playing a crucial role in their ability to learn, think and solve problems. Children at elementary school age, who are approximately 6 to 12 years old, experience significant progress in their cognitive development. At this stage, they begin to develop abstract thinking skills, expand their vocabulary, and hone their problem-solving abilities. The literature review research methodology is a research approach that aims to investigate and synthesize relevant literature related to a particular topic. In this methodology, researchers collect, evaluate, and reconstruct information from various literary sources such as scientific journals, books, research reports, and other scientific articles. The primary goal of literature review research is to present a comprehensive understanding of an existing research topic, identify knowledge gaps, and provide a framework for further research. This theory covers the stages of children's cognitive development, including the concrete operations stage which often occurs in elementary school age children. The important role of teachers and a supportive learning environment in elementary schools is crucial in optimizing children's cognitive development. Apart from that, support from parents also plays an important role in providing appropriate stimulus and providing opportunities for children to explore their interests and talents.
