Abstract

The development of TikTok social media has experienced rapid growth, currently many TikTok content creators are creating content related to mental health issues, one of which is the TikTok account @ananzaprili. Therefore, an analysis is needed on the content of the mental health narrative on the TikTok account @ananzaprilli. This study aims to determine the content of the mental health narrative on the TikTok account @ananzaprilli. This study uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method and uses the narrative and health theory by Walter Fisher. Researchers conducted content analysis from July to December with a total of 25 contents analyzed. The results of the study indicate that the most dominant narrative function is the Transforming Identity function and the least dominant narrative function is the Warranting Decision function. This indicates that narratives in TikTok content not only function as a medium for conveying mental health information, but also as a means of forming meaning, identity, and social connectedness of the audience. The results of the study are expected to contribute to increasing understanding of mental health among Generation Z.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of leveraging Google Maps User-Generated Content (UGC) to comparatively map gastronomic experience dimensions and analyze the empirical sentiment structure of popular culinary clusters in the Pasar Cihapit area, Bandung. The theoretical framework integrates the Sembilan Dimensi Gastronomi, spatial affordance, and UGC ecosystems within a post-digital tourism landscape. Methodologically, it employs a combination of qualitative netnography and computational text mining via the Google Maps API using RStudio software. The cleaned corpus data was deductively analyzed through standard text preprocessing stages. The findings demonstrate that customer satisfaction is integrally constructed through the interplay of the nine gastronomic dimensions. Sensory dimensions (Taste, Texture, Presentation, and Aroma) serve as the primary tourist attractions that drive positive reviews. However, final satisfaction is heavily vulnerable to negative sentiment bursts dominated by the Community Participation dimension, particularly regarding owners' communication ethics, extreme waiting times, and cashless transaction friction. Spatially, the Culture and History dimensions successfully transform the physical limitations of narrow market alleys into a positive "kalcer" (cultural) subculture narrative, reinforcing the area's online regional branding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digital communication strategies of the Instagram account @solopukap to advocate for gender equality issues. The analysis utilizes the SOME model (Share, Optimize, Manage, and Engage) framework. The limited application of the SOME model within Indonesian gender based activism organizations motivates this research. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted, with data collected through digital content analysis and in depth interviews with the purposively sampled PUKAPS media team and program managers. The findings indicate that @solopukap has successfully simplified theoretical language into inclusive popular narratives that effectively resonate with Gen Z and Millennials. In the Share aspect, credibility is established through the consistent inclusion of literary sources. Despite human resource constraints due to its volunteer-based management, the Manage and Optimize aspects remain effective by leveraging organic trends. With Engage, @solopukap has successfully created a safe digital space that fosters audience trust. This research reveals that narrative authenticity and the ability to maintain a secure discussion environment online (digital safe place) are the primary keys to the success of digital communication for local organizations. This demonstrates the SOME model is relevance in community based activism beyond commercial contexts.

Abstract

Film adaptation is a promising business strategy in the modern film industry, leveraging established audience bases and brand recognition. However, research on its business potential remains centered on Hollywood and European contexts, leaving the adaptation-driven Indonesian market largely underexplored. This qualitative literature-based study fills this gap by analyzing 21 national and international journals alongside data from 5 industry websites. Findings show that the Indonesian film industry is dominated by novel and comic adaptations, such as Laskar Pelangi, Dilan 1990, Gundala, and Sri Asih. Conversely, video game adaptations remain sparse due to the local game industry's limited capacity to maintain collaborative models and intellectual property (IP) fidelity, factors driving global success. Although adapted films offer lower investment risks and stronger market appeal, higher profitability over original sequels or franchises is not guaranteed. Success hinges heavily on adaptation execution quality, fan expectation management, and technological readiness, particularly for formats like motion comics. This study maps media adaptation potential in Indonesia while identifying structural barriers that restrict the realization of national game-based IP.

Abstract

Islamic philanthropic institutions (LAZ) face persistent challenges in designing empowerment programs that genuinely reflect community needs and aspirations. Many initiatives remain structured in a top-down manner, with limited involvement of beneficiaries in the planning process. Active community participation, however, holds significant potential to create programs strategic partners rather than passive recipients. This study examines co-creation models at Dompet Dhuafa, analyzing the transformation of LAZ from fund distributors into facilitators of participatory social change, where programs are designed according to the actual needs of mustahik. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews with three key informants: General Manager of ZIS Fundraising, Head of Program Implementation and Monitoring for Economic Empowerment, and Manager of Dakwah. The conceptual framework integrates Islamic Philanthropy theory with five co-creation models. Findings reveal that Dompet Dhuafa, through five co-creation models, experience economy, value co-creation, open innovation, collaborative networks, and community engagement projects has successfully established a collaborative ecosystem that is complex, dynamic, and sustainable. The study concludes that the application of co-creation models at Dompet Dhuafa represents a transformative strategy that integrates Islamic values with participatory practices, ensuring the sustainability of community empowerment programs.

Abstract

Contemporary digital society, particularly the university student generation, increasingly builds and maintains interpersonal relationships through text-based media. This condition triggers a reduction in physical cues and gives rise to the mutation of conventional nonverbal communication into the virtual realm, known as digital kinesics. This study aims to qualitatively analyze how students interpret digital nonverbal cues to establish trust and mediated intimacy within instant messaging applications (such as WhatsApp and Telegram). Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through semi-structured in-depth interviews and document analysis techniques via contextual chat screenshots from ten urban university student informants. The results indicate that trust formation in cyberspace no longer relies on physical presence; instead, it is constructed through three primary elements of digital kinesics: 1) affective visual representation through the precise selection of emojis, stickers, and animated GIFs; 2) digital chronemics, encompassing the rhythm of reply times, the duration of the "typing" status, and response delays; and 3) digital paralanguage, reflected in punctuation variations, capitalization choices, and word elongations within the text. These digital micro-cues are intuitively read by students to assess the sincerity, comfort, and emotional openness of their conversation partners. The novelty of this research demonstrates a communication compensation process, wherein the physical limitations of text media are overcome by students through their sensitivity in decoding digital kinesics, which is now recognized as a legitimate new nonverbal language structure determining the quality of Gen Z's interpersonal relationships.

Abstract

Social media plays a crucial role in political communication and the formation of voter decisions, including the choice to support female politicians. Beyond digital communication factors, voting decisions are influenced by an individual's belief in their own ability to understand and engage in politics (political efficacy). This study aims to analyze the impact of social media usage, internal political efficacy, and external political efficacy on young voters' decisions to elect female politicians in the 2024 General Election. The study's novelty lies in integrating the variables of social media usage and internal/external political efficacy to explain the decision to vote for female politicians. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing convenience sampling to select 269 respondents who met the study criteria. Data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. The results indicate that social media usage and internal political efficacy have a positive and significant influence on the decision to vote for female politicians, whereas external political efficacy does not have a significant effect. The findings suggest that social media usage and voters' perceptions of their personal political competence are more dominant factors in shaping voting choices than perceptions regarding the responsiveness of the political system. Practically, these findings assist political communicators in designing educational digital communication strategies and serve as a reference for developing political education programs aimed at enhancing voters' self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the commodification of female athletes in online sports journalism for the 2026 Indonesian professional volleyball competition (Proliga). Using a critical qualitative approach, the research design examines how the media shifts athletes' marketability from technical accomplishments and achievements to physical attractiveness. The research methodology combines Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis with Robert N. Entman's Framing Analysis. Data collection was conducted through sampling of three mainstream national sports news portals, which produced dozens of articles related to five female athletes. The study's main findings indicate that online media systematically and deliberately pursue an agenda of constructing public discourse that degrades athletes' narratives toward sexual objectification. Driven by political economic motives and aligned with the theory of uses and gratifications, media managers exploit audiences' visual desires to generate clickbait profits. This practice of media commodification massively stifles gender equality in sports journalism, where athletes' rights to autonomous self-presentation continue to be hijacked by digital capitalism. The implementation of gender-sensitive reporting guidelines is urgently needed to restore journalistic dignity.
