Abstract

This study aims to determine the pharmacological activity profile of water apple (Syzygium samarangense) leaf extract on male mice (Mus musculus) and to observe the effect of increasing doses on its pharmacological classification. The screening method involved observing 25 parameters, including behavioral, autonomic, and motoric responses, using three concentration levels: 1%, 2%, and 4%. The results showed that the extract exhibited diverse pharmacological effects, with the Central Nervous System (CNS) stimulation and CNS depression being the most prominent activities at a 1% concentration. Interestingly, as the concentration increased, specific effects like parasympathomimetic activity remained consistently significant across all doses (ranging from 18.29% to 21.46%). The observed parasympathomimetic effects such as increased urination and defecation suggest that the extract may promote intestinal motility and bladder contraction. Additionally, the presence of sympathomimetic and parasympatholytic activities indicates a complex interaction with the autonomic nervous system. In conclusion, Syzygium samarangense leaf extract possesses potential as a parasympathomimetic agent, which could be further investigated for treating hypertension through vasodilation or as a diuretic and digestive aid. Further specific testing is required to isolate the active compounds responsible for these effects.

Abstract

Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death among teenagers aged 15 years and above, with Indonesian National Police traffic data recording that motorcycles are involved in 72.42% of all cases. Risky behavior such as not wearing SNI-standard helmets is a major cause of fatal head injuries in this age group. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence safe riding compliance among adolescents through a literature review based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The research method used a literature review by searching for articles in the Google Scholar database published between 2020 and 2025 with the inclusion criteria of open access journals in Indonesian. Based on the analysis of the selected articles, it was found that all TPB components were correlated with safe riding behavior. Attitude was the most frequently studied variable (90%), but it was not always significant because it was influenced by environmental factors. Subjective norms derived from positive pressure from family and peers were proven to increase adolescents' motivation to comply. Meanwhile, perceived behavioral control emerged as the strongest and most consistent determinant (100% significant) because it is directly related to the skills and confidence of riders. Therefore, safety riding programs must be integrated with technical skills training and the creation of a safety culture in the social environment to strengthen intentions.

Abstract

Traffic discipline is the compliance of individuals or groups with applicable rules, orders, and prohibitions independenly without waiting for orders. Teenagers are still in an immature stage of development, easily influenced by emotions, want to look attractive, and often ignore traffic regulations. Unsafe driving is a major factor causing accidents among teenagers. This study aims to conduct a literature analysis on the relationship betweet element of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and safe driving behavior among teenagers. The research method used a literature review of scientific articles from 2017-2025 that focused on teenagers in Indonesia. Thhe research conducted a search and selection of literature using databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed. ProQuest, and Oneseacrh.id that have been published. The results of the study confirm that perceptions, subjective norms, and behavioral control have a significant impact than knowledge factors, but behavioral control is considered the most dominant factor. However, without strong self-efficacy, positive attitudes do not always translate into action. The conclusion of this study is that to foster safe driving behavior, youth safety interventions must focus on providing social support and increasing self-control.

Abstract

Introduction: Driving safety is very important to protect yourself and others from traffic accidents. Data shows that in, approximately 1.19 million people died in accidents. Due to high mobility needs, teenagers often violate regulations because they do not know how to drive. This study reviews the literature on the relationship between driver's license knowledge levels and safe driving behavior among teenagers. This research is a literature review of studies published in the last. Data sources were taken from the Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, and Onesearch.id databases using the keywords compliance factors, traffic behavior, teenagers, and road safety. The inclusion criteria were open access journals in Indonesian and English. Results: Most studies showed a significant relationship between knowledge level and safe driving behavior or satisfaction, according to ten pieces of literature. Although most adolescents have good knowledge (up to 91% in one study), some adolescents are non-compliant. In addition to knowledge, other factors that influence driving behavior are attitudes and perceptions, the role of peers, and possession of a C driver's license.

Abstract

Caesarean section (CS) is a major surgical procedure that can limit early mobilization in postpartum mothers due to pain and restricted movement. Early mobilization is essential to prevent complications such as thromboembolism and to support the healing process. One effective non-pharmacological intervention to improve mobilization is Range of Motion (ROM) exercises, which aim to maintain joint flexibility, enhance muscle strength, and improve blood circulation. This study used a descriptive case study design with an analytical approach involving two postpartum mothers who had undergone caesarean section and met the inclusion criteria. ROM exercises were administered once daily for three consecutive days. Data were collected through interviews, physical examinations, direct observation, and medical record review. Mobilization ability was evaluated based on four aspects: repositioning in bed, moving from lying to sitting, sitting to standing, and transferring from bed to chair. The results showed that both patients experienced significant improvements in mobilization ability after the ROM intervention. On the first day, movement was limited; however, by the third day, patients were able to sit, stand, and transfer independently. Muscle strength, particularly in the lower extremities, also improved. The gradual application of active ROM exercises proved effective in reducing pain, increasing muscle strength, and accelerating recovery. Psychological support, patient education, and active participation further supported the intervention’s success. The study concludes that ROM exercises are effective in enhancing mobilization among post-caesarean section mothers and should be routinely initiated six hours after surgery to promote recovery and prevent immobility-related complications.

Abstract

Surgery is an invasive medical procedure performed to diagnose or treat physical abnormalities, diseases, or injuries. However, surgery often causes anxiety in patients, especially in the preoperative phase. This study aims to determine the effect of autogenic relaxation therapy on the anxiety levels of preoperative abdominal surgery patients at Permata Medika Hospital, Semarang. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design without a control group. The study population was preoperative abdominal surgery patients experiencing anxiety. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 50 respondents. Anxiety levels were measured before the intervention (pretest) and after the intervention (posttest). The autogenic relaxation therapy intervention was given for 15 minutes to each respondent. This therapy was carried out by providing calming suggestions and training in focusing attention on body sensations to help reduce physical and psychological tension. The results showed a decrease in patient anxiety levels after autogenic relaxation therapy compared to before the intervention. Thus, autogenic relaxation therapy can be used as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention to help reduce anxiety in preoperative abdominal surgery patients.

Abstract

Nutrition services in hospitals are an essential component in supporting the success of patient care. One of the key indicators of nutrition service quality is the menu acceptability, which refers to the level of patients’ preference and consumption of the meals served. Traditionally, the reporting of menu acceptability data has been performed manually using Microsoft Excel, which is time-consuming, prone to data entry errors, and less effective for rapid analysis and decision-making. This study aims to describe the application of Google Data Studio (GDS) in presenting food menu acceptability data visually and interactively in hospitals. The research uses a quantitative descriptive approach through observation and survey of nutritional personnel and processing of patients' food acceptability data. The results of the study show that the use of GDS simplifies the reporting process, increases time efficiency, and makes it easier to interpret data compared to manual methods using Excel. Respoden assessed that GDS helps present data in an informative and interactive manner, thereby supporting the data-driven decision-making process at the Nutrition Installation of the Dental and Oral Hospital of Hasanuddin University. It can be concluded that Google Data Studio has been shown to improve reporting efficiency and make it easier to visualize food acceptance data in hospitals. This system not only improves the efficiency and accuracy of reporting, but also strengthens evidence-based nutrition management in support of the hospital's digital transformation.

Abstract

Complete basic immunization (IDL) is a crucial preventive effort to increase children's immunity to various infectious diseases that can be prevented through immunization. In this research review, the literature analysis method was used to select ten journals that had titles and focus of discussion related to the overview of IDL coverage. These journals were identified in the 2015–2025 period through the Google Scholar, Crossref, and Garuda search engines with certain inclusion criteria. The results of the analysis showed that the coverage of IDL in several health facilities in Indonesia was quite high in the initial dose, especially in infants less than one year old. However, the achievement of the follow-up dose is still relatively lower than the first dose. Parents' ignorance about the benefits of immunization, concerns about vaccine side effects, limited access to health services, and delays in visit schedules are the main factors for incomplete immunization. In addition, socioeconomic factors and family support also affect immunization compliance. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the role of health workers through continuous education, community-based socialization, and improvement of the immunization recording and monitoring system to ensure the fulfillment of IDL evenly and sustainably.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on determining beta carotene levels in green betel leaves (Piper betle L.) based on the altitude at which they grow. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels and differences in beta carotene levels in green betel leaves based on the altitude where it grows. This research consists of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Qualitative analysis with thin layer chromatography and phytochemical screening tests on the extract, while quantitative analysis with UV-Visible spectrophotometry. The results of qualitative analysis with thin layer chromatography showed that green betel leaf extract contains beta carotene compounds obtained Rf value 0.48 and pure beta carotene Rf value 0.48. Other qualitative analysis with phytochemical screening tests on the three sample acetone extracts originating from the Alahan Panjang, Solok and Pasir Jambak areas contained terpenoid, phenolic, flavonoid compounds and did not contain saponin and alkaloid compounds. The results of quantitative analysis obtained the maximum absorption wavelength of beta carotene is 481 nm with the average beta carotene content in green betel leaves of Alahan Panjang, Paninggahan, Solok Regency, and Pasir Jambak respectively, namely 113.845 mg/100 g, 129.98 mg/100 g, and 7.530 mg/100 g. Data analysis using the One Way Anova test (SPSS 31.0) showed a significant effect of the height of the growing area on the beta carotene content of green betel leaves (P < 0.05).

Abstract

The digital transformation in healthcare encourages hospitals to integrate information systems to improve service efficiency, data accuracy, and coordination across units. Aisyiyah Hospital has implemented the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) in all service units, including the outpatient department. However, its implementation still encounters several obstacles that affect the smoothness of administrative processes and the quality of patient services. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive explorative design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with outpatient administrative staff who directly operate SIMRS in daily activities, supported by field observations of workflow and system performance. Informants were selected using purposive sampling based on their experience and operational involvement. The data were analyzed using a narrative thematic method to identify key barriers, impacts, and adaptive solutions. The findings indicate that SIMRS implementation in the outpatient unit of Aisyiyah Hospital has not yet been optimal. Major challenges include limited network and hardware infrastructure, uneven human resource readiness, and the persistence of manual work culture. These barriers lead to delays in service delivery, data entry errors, and weak inter-unit data integration. To address these issues, staff coordinate with the IT team during system disruptions, use manual recording as a temporary measure, and conduct internal peer learning to improve system utilization. The results highlight that the success of SIMRS implementation depends not only on technological capability but also on infrastructure readiness, user competence, and organizational work culture transformation. System optimization requires managerial support through infrastructure enhancement, structured technical training, and consistent supervision of system use in each unit to ensure that SIMRS functions effectively in supporting patient care.
