Abstract

Computed Tomography (CT) Stonography is an imaging modality with high sensitivity and specificity for detecting urolithiasis. One of the parameters affecting CT image quality is slice thickness, which influences spatial resolution, contrast resolution, and image noise. This study aimed to analyze the effect of slice thickness variation on the image quality of CT Stonography in urolithiasis cases at the Radiology Installation of RSUD Sanjiwani Gianyar. This quantitative study employed an analytic observational approach. The study sample consisted of CT Stonography images reconstructed from three patients with urolithiasis using slice thicknesses of 1 mm, 3 mm, and 5 mm. Image quality assessment was performed by two radiologists based on spatial resolution, contrast resolution, and noise parameters. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Cohen’s Kappa test, and Friedman test with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05). The results showed that the 1 mm slice thickness produced the highest mean image quality score (9.00), followed by 3 mm (7.50) and 5  mm (6.00). Cohen’s Kappa test yielded a Kappa value of 0.400, indicating fair agreement between the two radiologists. Friedman test results showed a significance value (p-value) of 0.050, indicating a significant effect of slice thickness variation on CT Stonography image quality. It can be concluded that slice thickness variation affects CT Stonography image quality in urolithiasis cases, with 1 mm slice thickness providing the best image quality compared to 3 mm and 5 mm slice thicknesses.

Abstract

Nutritional problems among adolescents remain prevalent, while low knowledge of balanced nutrition among students receiving the Free Nutritious Meal Program indicates the need for engaging and interactive educational media, such as Quizizz. This study aimed to determine the effect of Quizizz-based interactive media on balanced nutrition knowledge among students receiving the Free Nutritious Meal Program. This quantitative study employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group pre-test-post-test design. The intervention group received education using Quizizz-based interactive media, while the control group received no intervention. The results showed that the mean knowledge score in the intervention group increased from 3.00 ± 1.595 to 6.74 ± 1.214, while the control group increased from 2.91 ± 1.203 to 3.65 ± 1.301. The Independent t test showed no significant difference in baseline knowledge between the intervention and control groups (p = 0.836), whereas a significant difference was found after the intervention (p < 0.001). Quizizz-based interactive media was effective in improving balanced nutrition knowledge among students receiving the Free Nutritious Meal Program. Quizizz can be utilized as an interactive nutrition education medium in schools and further developed in future research with a broader scope.

Abstract

Domestic violence (DV) remains a serious public health crisis and human rights violation globally and locally. The absolute majority of DV victims are women, suffering multidimensional physical, psychological, social, and economic impacts. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of domestic violence incidents against women at Puskesmas Sleman from 2020 to 2025. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design with a retrospective approach. A total of 47 respondents were selected using a total sampling technique from patient medical records that met the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed univariately using frequency distribution. The results indicated that the majority of victims were in early adulthood, specifically 25–35 years old (46.8%). Most victims were unemployed women (59.6%) with a high school education background (59.6%). Regarding manifestations, psychological violence was the most predominant form (42.6%), followed by suffering from more than one form of violence simultaneously (38.3%). Furthermore, the perpetrator's personality trait dysfunction was the main causing factor of violence (44.7%), followed by infidelity (21.3%). In conclusion, DV vulnerability in this region is dominated by productive-age women with economic dependence and secondary education, where psychological violence and the perpetrator's personality are central issues. Comprehensive preventive interventions, gender equality education, and early clinical detection at primary healthcare facilities are urgently needed to mitigate this problem.

Abstract

Surgery induces a metabolic stress response that increases energy and protein requirements and accelerates the body’s protein catabolism. This can affect nitrogen balance. Adequate energy and protein intake are essential for maintaining muscle mass, accelerating wound healing, and supporting recovery. This study aims to analyze the relationship between energy and protein intake and nitrogen balance in post-cancer surgery patients at Ulin Regional Hospital, Banjarmasin. A cross-sectional, observational analytical design was conducted from January to March 2026 with 15 respondents (total sampling). Intake was measured through a 24-hour food recall for two consecutive days. Nitrogen balance was calculated using protein intake and 24-hour urine urea nitrogen (UUN) values. Spearman rank analysis was used (). The results showed that the majority of respondents experienced a severe energy (66,7%) and protein (46,7%) deficit, but the majority (73,3%) had a positive nitrogen balance. No statistically significant relationship was found between energy intake and nitrogen balance (p = 0,121). Conversely, there was a significant relationship between protein intake and nitrogen balance (p = 0,016) with a strong positive correlation (r = 0,611). Protein intake is a more influential factor in nitrogen balance than energy intake. Hospitals are advisedto increase monitoring of high-protien diets, and future researchers are advised to increase the sample size and duration of their studies to ensure more representative results.

Abstract

Jam is a semi-solid food product that can be spread, made from crushed fruits, added with sugar, and cooked until thickened. Red roselle and red dragon fruit peel contain relatively high levels of vitamin C and dietary fiber. Therefore, jam made from these ingredients can be developed as an alternative functional food product with nutritional value. This study aimed to determine the effect of the ratio of red roselle to red dragon fruit peel on the vitamin C and dietary fiber contents of jam. The research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments: S1 (100% red roselle: 0% red dragon fruit peel), S2 (70%: 30%), S3 (50%: 50%), and S4 (30%: 70%). The highest vitamin C content was found in S1 at 160.81 mg/100 g, while the lowest was found in S4 at 41.54 mg/100 g. The highest dietary fiber content was obtained in S4 at 20.27 g/100 g, while the lowest was found in S1 at 10.91 g/100 g. The results showed that the ratio of red roselle to red dragon fruit peel affected the vitamin C and dietary fiber contents of the jam. Increasing the proportion of red dragon fruit peel tended to decrease the vitamin C content, whereas the dietary fiber content increased. Thus, the composition of red roselle and red dragon fruit peel influenced the nutritional characteristics of the resulting jam product.

Abstract

Spectacles are an important visual aid for patients with refractive errors, and proper lens care is essential to maintain visual clarity, comfort, and lens durability. This study aimed to describe the awareness of plastic and glass spectacle lens care among patients with refractive errors at Optik Bali Magelang. A descriptive study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using primary data collected through a structured questionnaire. The study involved 40 respondents, consisting of 20 plastic lens users and 20 glass lens users. The findings showed that 32.5% of respondents cleaned their lenses immediately after use, while 27.5% cleaned them daily. Regarding cleaning methods, 32.5% cleaned their lenses directly without using a cleaning solution, and 35.0% used a special lens-cleaning cloth. In terms of storage, 35.0% always stored their spectacles in a protective case. Overall, awareness of spectacle lens care was relatively good, particularly among glass lens users, although the use of appropriate cleaning solutions remained low. Awareness of lens care varied according to sex, age, and degree of refractive error. These findings highlight the importance of optometric education on appropriate lens cleaning, cleaning materials, and storage practices, particularly for plastic lens users
