Abstract

Hypertension generally occurs in the elderly, but several studies have shown that hypertension can appear as early as adolescence and its prevalence has increased over the past few decades. However, many have not realized that this is the cause of the appearance of hypertension in adulthood and the elderly. This study aims to determine the prevalence of hypertension in adolescents at the Sudiang Raya Health Center, Makassar City. The method used was observation with a Cross Sectional approach. The study sample was 147 adolescents using Two Stage Cluster Sampling. Data collection using questionnaires, measurement of weight, height and blood pressure. Data were analyzed univariately using frequency distribution tables. The results showed that there were 73 male respondents (49.7%) and 74 female respondents (50.3%). Most (77.6%) respondents had a moderate level of knowledge. The results of blood pressure measurements showed that 9 people (6.1%) were categorized as stage 2 hypertension, 18 people (12.2%) were categorized as stage 1 hypertension, 22 people (15.0%) were categorized as pre-hypertension and 98 people (66.7%) had normal blood pressure. Closing: The results showed that one third of respondents already had hypertension.

Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia in the 2018 National Riskesdas was 34.11%. Minimum Service Standards for hypertension: Every patient with hypertension receives health services according to standards. Achievement of Hypertension at Andalas Public Health Center for the last two years is 30.21% in 2021 and 14% in 2022. This study aims to determine the process of implementing the Minimum Service Standards for the Hypertension program at the Andalas Public Health Center. This study is a Descriptive qualitative research method by conducting semi-structured interviews with ten informants. The research was conducted at Andalas Public Health Center from March to August. The data collected were the results of interviews using an interview guide, document review, and observation. Data analysis used source triangulation and method triangulation. The results were that the officers involved and hypertensive patients in implementing Minimum Service Standards Hypertension were by the standards. Facilities and infrastructure are sufficient, but adding blood pressure monitors and Communication, Information, and Education media in leaflets is still necessary. Existing health workers already know the process of implementing hypertension following standards.  The implementation has been going well, but there are still obstacles in the form of difficulty monitoring hypertensive patients in the Andalas Public Health Center working area and a lack of public awareness of routine treatment every month.

Abstract

In disadvantaged areas, limited access to healthcare services poses significant challenges to achieving equitable health outcomes. The integration of technology in healthcare systems has been proposed as a solution to bridge gaps in access and quality, particularly in nursing care. This research explores the effectiveness of a technology-based care model in building a sustainable nursing system in underserved regions. The study utilizes a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data on health outcomes with qualitative insights from healthcare providers and patients. The findings indicate that technology-based interventions, such as telemedicine, mobile health applications, and remote patient monitoring, led to a 20% improvement in patient outcomes and a 30% reduction in healthcare delivery costs. Additionally, healthcare providers reported increased efficiency and job satisfaction due to the support offered by technology in monitoring patient conditions and facilitating remote consultations. The study concludes that the adoption of technology-driven care models can significantly enhance nursing systems in disadvantaged areas by improving accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability of care. However, challenges related to infrastructure, training, and data security must be addressed to ensure the success of such models. Future research should focus on scaling these models to other resource-limited settings and assessing their long-term impact.

Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence in medicine has sparked significant advancements in patient care, diagnostics, and treatment planning. However, as artificial intelligence technologies become increasingly prevalent in healthcare, they raise complex ethical challenges that must be addressed to ensure their responsible use. These challenges include concerns about data privacy, algorithmic bias, accountability, and the potential for unequal access to artificial intelligence-based medical interventions. This study explores the ethical implications of using artificial intelligence in medicine and proposes inclusive approaches for future health policy. A qualitative research methodology was employed, including expert interviews and policy document analysis, to examine the ethical issues surrounding artificial intelligence integration in medical practice. The findings indicate that while artificial intelligence holds great promise for improving healthcare efficiency and accuracy, its implementation must be accompanied by robust regulatory frameworks that prioritize equity, inclusivity, and accountability. The study emphasizes the need for collaborative policy-making involving stakeholders from various sectors to ensure that artificial intelligence technologies are developed and deployed in ways that benefit all populations, particularly marginalized communities. The research concludes that inclusive approaches to artificial intelligence integration in healthcare policy can help mitigate ethical risks and foster a healthcare system that is both innovative and ethically sound.

Abstract

Stunting is a major public health issue with long-term effects on the quality of human resources. The prevalence of stunting in South Tapanuli Regency increased from 30.8% in 2021 to 39.8% in 2022. This study aims to identify risk factors contributing to stunting in toddlers. The study employs a cross-sectional design with a correlational approach. The sample consists of 350 toddlers selected through purposive sampling, with data collected via structured interviews. The main contributing factors to stunting include a history of low birth weight (p=0.009), the introduction of complementary feeding before six months of age (p=0.000), and incomplete immunization status, which increases the risk of stunting with an odds ratio (OR) of 2.510. Virtual care is associated with a stable or improved HRQOL and patient and family satisfaction in pediatric T1DM. Decision makers need to consider expanding virtual access to pediatric diabetes care that can improve equitable access to quality care across healthcare systems globally.
