Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka makes it possible to achieve equal distribution of knowledge obtained by students because it is adapted to the potential and needs of students. Project Based Learning (PjBL) is one of the learning models recommended by Kurikulum Merdeka to be applied in learning, one of which is in learning mathematics. PjBL provides experience and knowledge to students through project creation activities. This is able to encourage students to construct their own knowledge after the presentation of project results is complete, which will involve reducing some information that may not be needed. PjBL can be viewed from the philosophy of mathematics education. The type of this research is descriptive research and literature study (library research). The aim of this research is to describe the PjBL model as seen from the philosophy of mathematics, namely from the branches of ontology and epistemology. This article was written based on a literature search based on writings that discuss the philosophy of mathematics education in terms of ontology and epistemology. Judging from the ontology of mathematics education philosophy, this is in accordance with the flow of empiricism and logicism. Meanwhile, in terms of epistemology, the philosophy of mathematics education is in line with constructivism, which means that knowledge is produced from a construction process by students

Abstract

This research is motivated by a decrease in student learning motivation at SMP DM Padang in grade IX. This decrease in student learning motivation shows that students are not enthusiastic when learning, feel bored, sleep in class and even often come and go to class. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Flipped Classroom learning method on student learning motivation in informatics subjects for grade IX at SMP DM Padang. The research method used is an experiment with a Nonoquevalent Control Group Design, which involves two groups, namely the experimental class given treatment using the Flipped Classroom method and the control class using the Conventional method. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire with a Likert Scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis is carried out through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing with t-tests. The results of the study show that the average value of the experimental class is higher than the control class, with a significance value below a = 0.05 so that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This indicates a significant effect of the flipped classroom implementation on improving student learning motivation. This learning model can make students more active, independent, and engaged in the learning process, as well as increasing interaction between teachers and students. Thus, the flipped classroom can be an effective alternative learning strategy in the context of informatics education at the junior high school level. Therefore, this method is recommended as an effective learning alternative to increase student participation and enthusiasm for learning, especially in informatics subject

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has influenced the practice of scientific writing in higher education. This study aims to analyze students' ability to use AI in scientific writing at STKIP Pesisir Selatan, including the level of utilization, operational and evaluative skills, the role of supervisors, and its impact on writing quality. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis of student writing, then analyzed using reduction, categorization, and thematic meaning extraction techniques. The results indicate that most students have utilized AI to generate ideas, develop outlines, paraphrase, and improve grammar. While operational skills in using AI are generally good, evaluation skills, source verification, and understanding of ethical use are still limited. The use of guided AI contributes to the structural and linguistic clarity of writing, but does not automatically increase the depth of analysis. The role of supervisors is crucial in guiding the appropriate and responsible use of AI. This study confirms that AI is effective as a scientific writing aid when combined with digital literacy, critical thinking skills, and clear academic ethical guidelines.

Abstract

Inclusive education requires teachers to respond to diverse student characteristics, including those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In practice, however, pedagogical responses to students with ADHD often focus primarily on controlling observable behavior without addressing underlying cognitive and emotional regulation needs. This article aims to synthesize evidence-based instructional strategies that support students with ADHD in inclusive classrooms. A literature review approach was employed by examining scholarly publications from 2000–2024 related to instructional strategies and classroom management for students with ADHD. The data were analyzed thematically to identify consistent patterns across studies. The findings indicate that effective strategies include environmental modification, simplified instructions, active and varied learning activities, positive reinforcement systems, short and structured learning sessions, and collaboration between teachers and parents. These strategies are most effective when implemented as responses to students’ self-regulation needs rather than merely behavioral control measures. This review highlights the importance of strengthening teachers’ understanding of the neurodevelopmental dimensions of ADHD to foster more adaptive and supportive inclusive learning environments.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the finding that students have not yet fully developed the skills to transform negotiation texts into narrative form, particularly in expressing ideas and understanding the transformation process. The study aims to describe the ability of Phase E students at SMK Negeri 6 Padang to transform negotiation texts into narratives using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method. The population consisted of 107 Phase E students in the 2024/2025 academic year, with a purposive sample of 35 students from Class X Culinary 3. Data were collected through a writing test in which students were asked to transform the negotiation text “Sewa Tanah” (sourced from the textbook) into a narrative text after learning through PBL. Students’ written work was assessed using an indicator-based scoring rubric and analyzed using descriptive statistics (means for each indicator and the overall mean). The results showed the mean scores for each indicator as follows: situation orientation 81.90 (Good), event development 74.28 (More than Adequate), rising conflict 67.62 (More than Adequate), climax 79.05 (Good), resolution 73.33 (More than Adequate), and coda 30.48 (Very Poor). The overall mean score was 69.20, which is below the minimum mastery criterion (KKTP) of 80.00. These findings indicate that PBL has not yet met the learning achievement standards for transforming negotiation texts into narratives in this context. The study recommends strengthening instruction focused on the stages of text transformation, providing intensive practice on weak indicators (especially the coda and conflict development), and improving lesson materials and the scoring rubric to help students’ achievement reach the KKTP.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the absence of item analysis for the Indonesian Language End-of-Semester Assessment (PAS) for the 2024/2025 academic year, so the quality of the test items in terms of validity, reliability, difficulty level, discrimination power, and distractor effectiveness was unknown. The study aimed to analyze the quality of the PAS items and to identify whether the items were too easy or too difficult and whether they could differentiate between students who had mastered the content and those who had not. A descriptive quantitative method was employed. The data consisted of the test papers and students’ answer sheets from the odd-semester PAS 2024/2025. Students’ responses were tabulated by option choice and analyzed using measurement theory, covering item validity, test reliability, item difficulty, item discrimination, and distractor effectiveness. The results showed that in Package A, 7 items were valid (70%) and 3 were invalid (30%); the reliability was moderate (0.620); difficulty levels were dominated by the medium category (7 items; 70%) and easy category (3 items; 30%); discrimination indices were good to very good for 7 items (70%), but 3 items (30%) were poor; and all distractors were good to very good (100%). In Package B, 8 items were valid (80%) and 2 were invalid (20%); reliability was high (0.843); difficulty levels were dominated by easy items (6 items; 60%) and medium items (4 items; 40%); discrimination indices were good to very good for 7 items (70%), with 3 items (30%) in the fair to poor range; and distractors were good to very good for 9 items (90%), while 1 item (10%) had poor distractors. The study recommends revising or replacing invalid items and items with low discrimination, balancing item difficulty—especially in Package B—and conducting routine item analysis before reusing the test.

Abstract

The appropriate use of instructional media can help teachers deliver learning materials effectively to children aged 4–6 years. One highly effective medium for presenting learning content is picture media. This study aimed to describe and explain how picture media are used to support letter recognition, imitation/pronunciation, and reading letter combinations into syllables in early reading instruction for children aged 4–6 years. The research employed a descriptive qualitative design. The main research instrument was the researcher, supported by interview and observation guides, stationery, and an audio recorder. The data source comprised children aged 4–6 years. Seven children participated: four boys aged 6 years, two girls aged 5 years, and one girl aged 6 years. The data focused on recognizing letter forms and sounds, imitating/pronouncing vowels and consonants, and reading letter combinations into syllables using picture media at TK/PAUD Al-Ikhlas Sawah Lawe, Koto Parik Gadang Diateh Subdistrict, South Solok Regency. Data were collected through observation, interviews, note-taking, and audio recording. The findings indicate that in introducing alphabet letters, children made pronunciation errors with letters such as /m/, /n/, /r/, and /q/. In imitation/pronunciation activities, children still required assistance in pronouncing several vowels and consonants. In reading letter combinations into syllables, children also needed support to read syllables in words such as sepeda (s-e-p-e-d-a), mobil (m-o-b-i-l), buku (b-u-k-u), ember (e-m-b-e-r), and sepatu (s-e-p-a-t-u).
