Abstract

The primary objective of this study is to elevate the academic performance of third-grade students at Tanjungmekar I Elementary School in the domain of Citizenship Education (PKN) through the utilization of the discussion method, which specifically focuses on nurturing self- esteem. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a classroom action research design, this investigation involved the active participation of 23 students. The data collection process encompassed thorough classroom observations, interviews conducted with both the teacher and students, and comprehensive learning achievement tests. By implementing the discussion method as an instructional strategy, the researchers aimed to stimulate students' active involvement in the learning process of PKN. The results revealed a noteworthy enhancement subsequent to the implementation of the discussion method. Initially, during the pre-test phase, students achieved an average score of 64.5. However, following three cycles of employing the discussion method, the average score escalated to 82.5. Thus, it can be inferred that the discussion method effectively augments students' learning outcomes in the PKN subject within the third grade of Tanjungmekar I Elementary School.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and obtain preliminary data on the clean and healthy living behaviors of fourth-grade students at SD Islam Nibras in Padang City. This study is a quantitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research are ten fourth-grade students at SD Islam Nibras Padang. Data sources for this research were obtained through observation sheets and questionnaires. The data from the observation sheets were quantitatively analyzed in the form of percentages. The preliminary research results show that approximately 20% of students can be categorized as successful or able to demonstrate clean and healthy living behaviors in the excellent and good categories. Around 80% of students have not been able to demonstrate their behavior as satisfactory or less good. The results of this research can be concluded that the clean and healthy living behaviors of fifth-grade students at SD Islam Nibras are still in the less good category.

Abstract

In this world, there are various problems, one of which is the problem of gender equality. Gender has recently become a hot phenomenon to be discussed. This can be seen from the fact that there are still many people who think that men are better and have a higher degree than women. So the purpose of this study is to describe the existence of gender equality in an Islamic perspective and gender equality in education in Indonesia. The method used is a literature study with careful repeated observation analysis techniques and then concluded qualitatively descriptively. The results of the study show that gender equality is highly respected in Islam and Indonesian education where from an Islamic perspective it has the same position between men and women starting from getting rewards, being servants of Allah and caliphs, achieving achievements to carrying out their obligations. Meanwhile, gender equality in the perspective of education in Indonesia is contained in Article 27 paragraphs 1 and 2 and the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 1994 concerning the elimination of discrimination, and Law No 20 of 2003 on the National Education System.

Abstract

The choice of demonstration method is a challenge for the teacher. The teacher will be a model in front of the class, thus the teacher will try to improve his/her quality. This research aims to determine the effect of the demonstration method in improving poetry reading skills in class VII-B UPT SMP Negeri 1 Tellu Limpoe Sidenreng Rappang Regency which has an impact on achievement, understanding and mastery of Indonesian language subjects. This research was conducted in class VII-B UPT SMP Negeri 1 Tellu Limpoe Sidenreng Rappang Regency with the number of students in the research class was 28 students. The research method used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis method by collecting pre-cycle to cycle II results. The results explained that Indonesian language learning activities using the demonstration method were effective in improving students' ability to read poetry. The demonstration method as an approach is very helpful in facilitating students' understanding of poetry reading material in the context of Indonesian language learning. However, learning by using the demonstration method requires careful teaching preparation and effective time and class management. This is necessary to achieve optimal learning outcomes in every activity in the classroom.

Abstract

Audio-visual media, such as video, audio and interactive multimedia, can help students understand language contexts better, improve memory and stimulate interest in learning. Therefore, this classroom action research aims to explore and apply the use of audio-visual media in improving the listening skills of students of class VIII-D UPT SMP Negeri 1 Tellu Limpoe, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The research method used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis method. The data used in the research are primary and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained by providing an overview of the changes or progress that occurred after the application of audio-visual media in learning to listen to class VIII-D students. Secondary data is data obtained through intermediaries, such as through report books, statistical boards, etc. The results showed that the application of audio-visual media in English language learning, especially in listening skills, significantly improved students' learning achievement, along with the increase in students' formative scores. Student learning completeness increased from 65% in cycle I to 100% in cycle II. The use of audio visual media can also increase students' activeness and interest in English lessons, with students becoming active subjects in learning activities, creating a pleasant learning atmosphere, and strengthening students' roles in the learning process.

Abstract

The English speaking ability of students in Class IX-A at UPT SMP Negeri 1 Tellu Limpoe, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, still seems to show a low level of skill from year to year. This can be identified through various indicators, such as difficulties in expressing ideas orally in English that often stop in the middle of the conversation. The purpose of this study is directed to create a more interactive, fun, and effective learning atmosphere by applying the Snake and Ladder Game to improve speaking skills so as to increase students' learning motivation as well as their learning outcomes in speaking English. This research was conducted in class IX-A UPT SMP Negeri 1 Tellu Limpoe Sidenreng Rappang Regency with the number of students in the research class was 27 students. The Research Method conducted in the study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results showed that process assessment, reflection, and discussion as well as discussion of research, it was concluded that snake and ladder was able to improve speaking skills in English Class IX-A UPT SMP Negeri 1 Tellu Limpoe Sidenreng Rappang Regency, as evidenced by student activity during cycle I and cycle II learning increased gradually, student response to the learning process was very good, and there was an increase in mastery of speaking compared to before. It can be seen that student learning completeness in cycle I reached 70% and in cycle II reached 100%.

Abstract

The initial problem that was the basis for conducting this research was that the learning method was less varied, namely lectures, as a result it did not attract students' interest and caused student activity to be low, student completion in social studies learning was still low, namely 8 students or around 28.57% of the total of 28 students. This means that most students do not complete. The aim of this research is to improve student learning outcomes by using the talking stick type cooperative learning method in class VI of SD Negeri 45 Oto Ledang. This research is a type of classroom action research. The subjects in this research were class VI students at SD Negeri 45 Oto Ledang with a total of 28 students. The results obtained by students in cycle 1 increased by 25% in cycle II. Initially the percentage of student completion was 57% and changed to 82% in cycle II. So it can be concluded that the use of the talking stick method is effective in improving student learning outcomes in social studies learning in class VI SD Negeri 45 Oto Ledang.

Abstract

The mathematics learning process at SDN 40 Seluma is dominated by students working on problems in books, so that mathematics learning outcomes are less than optimal. One of the efforts that can be made is by applying the REACT learning model (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring). The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade mathematics students at SDN 40 Seluma by applying the REACT learning model. The research subjects were 15 students. This research is a type of classroom action research by implementing learning improvements as many as 2 cycles including several stages namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed that the application of the REACT learning model can improve mathematics learning outcomes in grade IV students of SDN 40 Seluma. This is shown from the classical completeness of student learning outcomes, namely pre-cycle only 46.7% increased in cycle I to 73.3% and in cycle II to 86.7%. Based on the results of this study can be used as material in the next learning process so that student learning outcomes can improve. This research is limited to grade IV mathematics subjects, it is highly recommended to apply the REACT learning model at other grade levels and subjects in order to expand knowledge and develop the results of this research.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and obtain data on the influence of Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) on the representational ability of MTs students. This type of research is an experimental study with control and experimental groups by observing the results of pretests and posttests. The research instrument is a mathematical representation ability test. The population of this research consists of all students at MTs Madrasah Miftahul Ulum II Punggur Kecil, with the sample being two eighth-grade classes selected purposively from the seven existing classes. Data analysis was conducted using a two-population mean difference test. The results of the study show that the mathematical representation ability of students who received Model-Eliciting Activities is better than that of students who received conventional teaching. The improvement in the mathematical representation ability of students who received Model-Eliciting Activities in both the upper and lower groups is statistically better than that of students who received conventional teaching.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding is something that person has to be able to learn material or to solve problems. One of the mathematical materials related to conceptual understanding is Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). The graphic method is a method that is rarely taught by teachers and used by students in solving SPLDV. In fact, by using this method, a person's conceptual understanding can be easily seen and is able to develop students' mathematical representation abilities. This research is a qualitative research to describe the conceptual understanding of class VII SMP students in solving SPLDV questions using the graphic method. The research subjects in this study were three students consisting of students with high, low and medium abilities. Students are given two questions related to SPLDV. Based on the results of the students' work, the researcher carried out data analysis consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research show that students' conceptual understanding in solving SPLDV questions using the graphic method is still very low. This is shown by the subject's indicators of conceptual understanding. Of the three indicators of conceptual understanding, both subjects could only meet one indicator and one subject did not even meet any of the indicators. Further research related to increasing conceptual understanding in solving SPLDV questions, especially using graphic methods, needs to be carried out.
