Abstract

The moral decline occurring among students is currently becoming increasingly widespread. This is evidenced by the rising cases of student brawls, free sex, cheating habits, and so forth. Therefore, the education sector in Indonesia must continue to improve and seek solutions to these problems. One way to address issues related to student moral decline is through the implementation of character education based on religious local wisdom in schools. This study aims to analyze the implementation of character education based on religious local wisdom and its implications for the moral development of students at MTs Darul A'mal Metro. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the implementation of character education is carried out through religious activities, skills development, extracurriculars, and character habituation. The implications of implementing this character education include strengthening religious identity, forming morals based on Islamic values, increasing tolerance, social awareness, and preventing deviant behavior. Thus, character education based on religious local wisdom has proven effective in developing students' morals.

Abstract

The high turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Indonesia has become a concern for organizations because it impacts increased recruitment costs, disrupted human resource stability, and decreased productivity. Generation Z tends to prioritize flexibility, meaningful work, and work-life balance. Therefore, when these expectations are not met, employees are potentially disengaged, manifested through quiet quitting behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationship between employee engagement and turnover intention, with quiet quitting as a mediator variable among Generation Z employees in Indonesia. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and a survey method with 213 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included the Employee Engagement Scale, the Quiet Quitting Scale, and the Turnover Intention Scale. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that employee engagement negatively impacted turnover intention and quiet quitting, while quiet quitting positively impacted turnover intention and mediated the relationship between employee engagement and turnover intention.

Abstract

The Qur’an establishes the principles of ḥalāl and ṭayyib as inseparable foundations in regulating food consumption, highlighting that Islamic dietary guidance extends beyond legal permissibility to include nutritional value, hygiene, safety, and overall well-being. This research seeks to explore the Qur’anic understanding of these two concepts through the thematic (mauḍū‘ī) interpretation approach while assessing their significance in relation to Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis or MBG) as a strategy for improving public nutritional status. Employing qualitative library research, the study examines selected Qur’anic passages, including Surah Al-Baqarah (2:168), Surah Al-Mā’idah (5:88), and Surah An-Naḥl (16:114), together with authoritative classical and contemporary tafsir references. The analysis reveals that ḥalāl primarily concerns the religious legitimacy of food and its lawful means of acquisition, whereas ṭayyib reflects broader dimensions such as nutritional adequacy, cleanliness, food quality, safety, and their positive influence on physical as well as spiritual health. Consequently, the Qur’an presents an ideal dietary framework in which lawful status and wholesome quality must coexist. Within the context of the MBG initiative, these findings underscore the importance of ensuring that meals satisfy not only nutritional requirements but also the Islamic standards of ḥalāl and ṭayyib. Integrating these Qur’anic principles into food policy is expected to strengthen public health outcomes while reinforcing religious and ethical values. Accordingly, this study argues that collaboration between Islamic teachings and modern nutritional science is indispensable for designing food policies capable of fostering a healthy, resilient, and ethically responsible generation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the collective awareness of Muslim communities toward women’s education and its implications for social change in Pasar Gunung Tua Village, Padang Bolak District, North Padang Lawas Regency. This research is motivated by the existence of community views influenced by patriarchal culture, where men’s education is prioritized over women’s education. In addition, economic factors and social perspectives also influence the continuity of women’s education within the community. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving village officials, religious leaders, community leaders, parents, and women who are currently or have previously pursued education. The findings show that public awareness regarding the importance of women’s education has gradually increased. Family support, religious perspectives, and social development are the main factors encouraging this awareness. However, there are still several obstacles, such as economic limitations and traditional cultural views that place women primarily in domestic roles. This study concludes that women’s education has an important contribution in encouraging social change through improving family quality, expanding women’s social participation, and increasing public awareness of the importance of education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 83 Krui Pesisir Barat, caused by conventional teaching models that are monotonous and fail to engage student activity. This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of the Probing-Prompting learning model; (2) analyze PAI learning outcomes after implementing the model; and (3) examine the effect of the Probing-Prompting model on PAI learning outcomes. A quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design (nonequivalent control group) was employed. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students (64 students), with class IV A as the control group (21 students) and class IV B as the experimental group (21 students), selected using cluster sampling. The instrument was a validated multiple-choice test (10 valid items, reliability 0.680). Data analysis techniques included normality test (Shapiro-Wilk), homogeneity test (Levene), and hypothesis test (independent sample t-test). The results showed: (1) the implementation of the Probing-Prompting model proceeded well through the syntax of presenting students with new situations, providing guiding and probing questions, and reinforcing material; (2) learning outcomes of the experimental group (post-test mean 81.74) were higher than those of the control group (post-test mean 71.30); (3) the hypothesis test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.002 < 0.05, thus Ha was accepted. This study concludes that the Probing-Prompting learning model has a positive and significant effect on PAI learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 83 Krui Pesisir Barat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Islamic educational values contained in the punggahan tradition and its contribution to the life of the community in Kaliasin Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung Regency. The punggahan tradition is a form of local wisdom practiced by Muslim communities in Indonesia, carried out before the arrival of Ramadan as an expression of gratitude and spiritual preparation. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving religious leaders, community leaders, and local residents as informants. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the punggahan tradition in Kaliasin Village is implemented through several stages: grave visitation, religious gatherings and collective prayers, communal meals (kenduri), social interaction and mutual forgiveness, and environmental cleaning activities. Each of these stages reflects Islamic educational values, including aqidah (faith in Allah), ibadah (worship practices such as prayer, tahlil, and religious study), and akhlaq (moral values such as mutual forgiveness, cooperation, and togetherness). The contribution of Islamic educational values within the punggahan tradition is significant in shaping a religious, harmonious, and morally grounded society. This tradition serves not only as cultural heritage but also as an effective non-formal Islamic educational medium that instills spiritual, social, and moral values directly in community life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the Islamic educational values contained in the Asy-Syuro tradition in Bumi Rahayu Village, Bumi Ratu Nuban District, Central Lampung Regency. The Asy-Syuro tradition is a religious-cultural practice carried out every night of the 1st of Muharram and has become an integral part of the local community's life. This tradition not only functions as a religious ritual but also serves as a medium for internalizing Islamic educational values that are passed down from generation to generation. This research employs a qualitative approach using an ethnographic method, aiming to understand the meanings and values contained in the traditional practices from the community's perspective. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research informants consist of religious leaders, community leaders, and residents of Bumi Rahayu Village who are directly involved in the implementation of the tradition. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively through the processes of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the Asy-Syuro tradition contains three main values of Islamic education: aqidah (faith), ibadah (worship), and akhlak (morality). The value of aqidah is reflected in strengthening faith through collective prayers, dhikr, and the recitation of Surah Yasin. The value of ibadah is seen in the implementation of religious rituals performed congregationally with solemnity. Meanwhile, the value of akhlak is manifested in attitudes of togetherness, mutual cooperation, social care, and the tradition of sharing through takiran. In addition, this tradition functions as an effective non-formal Islamic educational medium in shaping the religious and social character of the community across generations. Thus, the Asy-Syuro tradition can be understood as a form of integration between local culture and Islamic teachings, serving as a medium for education based on local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in improving the mathematical problem-solving skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Mekar Jaya 31 in Depok regarding fractions. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 32 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, and documentation. Tests were used to measure students' mathematical problem-solving skills before and after the implementation of the CTL model, while observations and documentation were used to support data on the implementation of the learning process. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the CTL model was able to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills in the topic of fractions. This was demonstrated by an increase in students' learning outcomes from the pretest to the posttest scores. The results of the paired-sample t-test also showed a significant difference between the scores before and after the intervention. These findings indicate that instruction using the CTL model is effective because it helps students understand the concept of fractions through real-life contexts, encourages active student engagement, and facilitates students' ability to develop problem-solving strategies. Thus, the CTL model can serve as an effective instructional alternative for improving elementary school students' mathematical problem-solving skills, particularly in the topic of fractions.
