Abstract

The development of the Hiwaruna textbook was initiated as a response to the dual challenge of linguistic complexity and economic limitation faced by ibtida’ students at Darul Lugha wal Qur’an Palengaan Daja, Pamekasan. The existing textbook, Muhawarah Juz 1, was found to be linguistically demanding and economically inaccessible, creating disparities in students’ learning engagement. This study aims to design and develop a more affordable yet pedagogically sound alternative to support equitable Arabic kalam learning. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), data were collected through classroom observation, teacher interviews, expert validation, and student feedback. The Hiwaruna textbook was designed to suit students’ proficiency levels, incorporating contextual themes, simplified vocabulary, visual aids, and pronunciation guides, while being printed locally at a cost 80% lower than commercial materials. The implementation demonstrated significant improvements in student motivation, comprehension, and speaking ability. Furthermore, teachers reported that Hiwaruna facilitated more interactive and inclusive classroom communication. The findings suggest that pedagogical innovation rooted in local economic awareness can enhance accessibility without compromising educational quality, offering a sustainable model for Arabic language instruction in resource-limited contexts

Abstract

This study addresses the problem of uneven and often inadequate saving behavior across countries, which is closely related to differences in economic systems. The central issue examined is how capitalist, socialist, and mixed economic systems shape individual and national saving patterns amid global challenges such as rising living costs, consumerism, and economic uncertainty. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between economic system characteristics and saving behavior, while identifying the institutional, policy-related, and cultural factors that influence saving outcomes. The research employs a qualitative approach based on a literature review and comparative analysis of economic theories and global case studies. Data are analyzed descriptively and analytically to highlight the mechanisms through which different economic systems encourage or constrain saving behavior. The findings indicate that capitalist systems promote individual savings through market incentives and financial innovation, but they are often accompanied by inequality and overconsumption. Socialist systems emphasize state-managed savings and collective welfare, which can reduce individual motivation to save. Mixed economies demonstrate a more balanced approach by combining private initiative with social protection, thereby enhancing financial inclusion and economic resilience. This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing that an effective and sustainable saving system requires the integration of individual responsibility, strong institutional support, and supportive cultural values to ensure long-term economic growth and financial stability in an increasingly interconnected global economy.

Abstract

Arabic language learning holds a strategic value in enhancing the communicative, social, and economic competencies of Muslim communities, particularly in the Hajj and Umrah service sectors. Arabic functions not only as a means of understanding Islamic teachings but also as economic capital that contributes directly to improving the welfare and professionalism of Muslim workers. In the context of globalized religious economics, proficiency in Arabic becomes a highly valuable functional skill that opens employment opportunities in religious service sectors such as pilgrimage assistance, religious tourism, education, and translation. This is increasingly relevant as the demand for professional personnel capable of effectively communicating with pilgrims and Saudi Arabian authorities continues to grow each year. This study employs a descriptive-analytical approach by examining various sources that discuss the interrelationship between language, economy, and religion. The results indicate that Arabic proficiency provides significant economic advantages, particularly for individuals working as guides, mutawwifs, translators, and other Hajj and Umrah service personnel. Beyond financial benefits, Arabic proficiency strengthens professional identity and improves the quality of pilgrim services. Moreover, need-based Arabic learning  has proven to be more effective in preparing a workforce that meets the real demands of the religious service industry. This research offers a new perspective on the urgency of need-based Arabic language learning as a strategy for human resource development that is more relevant to the dynamics of the Hajj and Umrah service industry. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for educational institutions, providers of religious professional training, and policymakers in designing Arabic language curricula and training programs that are more applicative, responsive, and aligned with the needs of the global job market.
