Abstract

Warship wrecks in Indonesia are twofold: those owned by foreign governments, and those owned by the Government of Indonesia, considered hero's graves in the middle of the sea. Sovereign immunity under the 1982 UNCLOS Convention is not explicit for active warships or their wrecks. (1) How does Indonesia provide sovereign immunity to warships?; (2) What about the question of foreign countries about their warship wrecks in Indonesian waters? The use of normative juridical legal research methods, with primary legal materials: 1982 UNCLOS Convention, secondary: legal doctrine on the status of warship wrecks, and tertiary legal materials. The results of the study explain (1) Indonesia only recognizes the sovereign immunity of warships on duty. (2) Indonesia does not grant the wishes of foreign countries over its war wrecks, for the main reason of national interest in the form of shipping safety. The latest regulation on the management of sunken ship cargo objects was issued because the old regulation was not in accordance with legal developments and needs. Researcher's suggestions: (1) Indonesia must regulate which warship wrecks can be explored and which cannot. (2) Indonesia must more strictly supervise the exploration of sunken ship cargo objects.

The analysis method used the CFA test using a structural equation model. The results of this study indicate that the CFA model is fit with details: Chi Square = 375.116 (p = 0.000), RMSEA = 0.088, GFI = 0.831, CFI = 0.935, and TLI = 0.922. The model modification carried out was by eliminating 1 manifest variable and covariance between 5 pairs of error variables. The results of this study can be used for the wider community, especially organizations that want to see how employees assess fairness so that corrective actions can be taken. Companies can also prevent the impacts that will arise.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the influence of campus support and job readiness on students' learning motivation. In the context of higher education, campus support and job readiness are considered important factors that influence the level of learning motivation. This study used a correlational quantitative design with multiple linear regression analysis to find the relationship between learning motivation (Y) and the independent variables, which are campus support (X1) and job readiness (X2). The data were looked at using statistical software. An R square value of 0.655 shows that campus support and job readiness can explain 65.5% of the variation in students' motivation to learn. The remaining variation is caused by things that are not part of the model. The results of the ANOVA test show that this regression model is significant, with an F value of 43.674 and a significance level of 0.000. This suggests that the combination of campus support and job readiness significantly influences students' learning motivation. The regression coefficients indicate that work readiness has a more dominant influence compared to campus support on learning motivation, with a coefficient value of 0.517 for work readiness and 0.213 for campus support. This finding emphasizes the importance of campuses in providing adequate support and preparing students for the workforce in order to enhance their learning motivation.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the author's interest in the problems of students in the RMIK 1A study program regarding the use of sentences in WhatsApp chats between lecturers and students. As communication develops in the digital era, the use of social media has become a common need for everyone, one of which is WhatsApp as a semi-formal communication tool. WhatsApp not only makes it easier to exchange information, but also influences the way messages are delivered and language is used. Using WhatsApp in academic communications offers various advantages, including ease of access, speed of response, and flexibility in communication. The language used must pay attention to the rules of good grammar, spelling and politeness. Analyzing language use errors can help in developing students' language skills. This can improve communication skills in Indonesian and correct mistakes that often occur. From an ethical perspective, this research can help in evaluating digital interactions in compliance with applicable academic norms. This can contribute to increasing digital literacy for both lecturers and students, helping to optimize the use of technology in academic interactions.

In the era of growing information, mass media has a crucial role in delivering news, especially related to athletes' achievements in major events such as the Olympics. This article analyzes the use of good and correct language in the Indonesian Olympic news broadcast by Metro TV on August 11, 2024. This research uses a qualitative method with documentation techniques to identify the use of sports terms, ineffective sentences, and absorbed words. The results of the analysis show that although there is a standardized use of technical terms, there are still many ineffective sentences and the use of nonstandard language that interfere with the credibility of the news. This article contributes to the understanding of the importance of formal language use in the media context, and provides recommendations to improve the quality of news delivery in the mass media. Through this research, it is hoped that public awareness of the use of good and correct language can increase, in line with efforts to strengthen the nation's cultural identity in the midst of globalization.

Abstract

Errors in using Indonesian in notification letters often result in confusion and misunderstanding among recipients. Apart from that, spelling errors and inappropriate use of terms were also found, which could damage the sender's credibility. This research aims to describe, correct and analyze forms of language errors in the form of errors in the use of Indonesian contained in notification letters issued by the Poltekkes Kemenkes Tasikmalaya. Types of errors are studied through the use of Indonesian spelling based on the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling and Standard Vocabulary (KBBI). Various errors were found, (1) use of capital letters, (2) non-standard word writing, (3) incorrect acronyms, (4) punctuation errors, (5) and typing errors. This error is caused by the author's lack of understanding of Enhanced Spelling rules (EYD) and low interest in reading. The impact of this error can interfere with understanding the message and image of the institution. Therefore, it is important to improve understanding and skills in the Indonesian language among official letter writers.
