Abstract

Calorie Calorie consumption is an important indicator in assessing household welfare and nutritional quality. Lampung Province is recorded as having the lowest average calorie consumption on the island of Sumatra, while simultaneously exhibiting the highest smoking prevalence in Indonesia. This condition indicates a distortion in household expenditure allocation, particularly due to cigarette consumption. This study aims to analyze the effects of cigarette consumption, income, and education level on household calorie consumption in Lampung Province. A quantitative approach is employed using district/city panel data in Lampung Province for the period 2018–2024. The analytical method applied is panel data regression, with the selection of the best estimation model conducted through the Chow test, Hausman test, and Lagrange Multiplier test. The results indicate that an increase in cigarette consumption of one thousand rupiah raises calorie consumption by 36.50 kilocalories, an increase in education level by one year increases calorie consumption by 154.34 kilocalories, and an increase in income of one thousand rupiah raises calorie consumption by 19.76 kilocalories. These findings suggest that improvements in income and education play a crucial role in enhancing household energy consumption. This study is expected to provide empirical evidence for the formulation of integrated cigarette control policies aimed at improving nutritional quality and educational attainment in Lampung Province.

Abstract

The environmental cleaning activity on Jln. Brigjend Katamso shows that collaboration between students of Sunan Giri University Surabaya, the government, and the community is able to create significant positive changes in efforts to maintain the cleanliness and quality of the environment. Through the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, local potential is successfully optimized so that people are not only involved in physical activities to clean the environment, but also experience increased social awareness, solidarity, and a sense of belonging to public spaces. The results of this activity can be seen from the formation of new behaviors that are more concerned about the environment. Strengthening the culture of mutual cooperation, as well as the emergence of citizens' initiatives to continue the cleanliness program independently. These findings confirm that multistakeholder synergy is the key to success in realizing sustainable social change. So that it will always be a community that cares about the surrounding environment.

Abstract

This study examines the cross-border ML asset confiscation regulations related to the assets of defendants/convicts in Singapore and Australia, as well as the Supreme Court Justice's considerations in Cassation Decision No. 4950 K/Pid.Sus/2023. Legal materials were collected through document studies, presented systematically, analyzed qualitatively and juridically, and concluded deductively. The results of the study indicate that although cross-border ML asset confiscation regulations continue to evolve, the asset confiscation mechanism still requires regulations that explicitly regulate the types of assets that can be confiscated, the processes and procedures, as well as arrangements for cooperation, profit sharing, and reimbursement with other countries, particularly Singapore and Australia. The government requires strong political will and strengthened bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the tracing, blocking, seizure, and confiscation of assets. Furthermore, the Supreme Court Justice's considerations in the decision, particularly regarding imprisonment, fines, and compensation, are deemed to have not met the sense of justice because assets abroad cannot necessarily be effectively confiscated as a source of payment for state losses.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence technology in the field of facial image processing has encouraged the emergence of various methods for automatically analyzing human attributes. This study implements the DeepFace and OpenCV libraries to detect faces and predict age and gender based on human facial images. DeepFace provides integration with various pre-trained models such as VGG-Face, OpenFace, and DeepID so that the analysis process can be carried out without retraining. This study uses several stages starting from image upload, face detection, facial attribute analysis, and visualization of the prediction results. From the tests conducted, the system successfully identified faces stably and provided relatively accurate age and gender estimates, especially in images with sufficient lighting and frontal facial poses. The results of this study indicate that DeepFace can be used as a practical solution in the development of facial image-based biometric systems.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Buzz Group discussion method in inquiry-based learning to improve students' understanding of science concepts at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Noor Mushola Surabaya. A quantitative methodology with a quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 56 students from classes IV A and B, with results indicating a significant difference in concept understanding between the experimental and control groups. Analysis results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class reached 78.93, while the control class scored only 54.29. The implementation of Buzz Group enhanced concept understanding with an N-Gain value of 61.41%, compared to 27.60% in the control class, indicating that the integration of this method is effective in building better understanding among students. This research highlights the importance of active and collaborative teaching methods to address the challenges of low science comprehension at the elementary level.

Abstract

Student graduation prediction is an important issue in higher education as it is closely related to the evaluation of academic success. Various machine learning algorithms have been applied to predict student graduation based on academic data. This study conducts a comparative analysis of three classification algorithms, namely Logistic Regression, Random Forest, and K-Nearest Neighbor, using a simulated dataset consisting of 200 student records with attributes including age, department, GPA, and graduation year. The research stages include data preprocessing, data splitting, model training, and performance evaluation using classification metrics. Experimental results indicate that Logistic Regression and Random Forest achieve the best performance with an accuracy of 100%, while the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm attains an accuracy of 80%. These findings highlight that data characteristics and algorithm selection significantly affect the accuracy of student graduation prediction.

Abstract

The rapid integration of social media and e-commerce, known as social commerce (s-commerce), has fundamentally reshaped the operational landscape for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study investigates the impact of social commerce adoption and visual content quality on the sales performance of MSMEs, with consumer trust serving as a critical mediating variable. In the highly competitive digital market of 2026, MSMEs face the challenge of not only adopting new technologies but also masterfully crafting visual narratives that capture consumer attention. Utilizing a quantitative research design with a sample of 450 MSME owners in Indonesia, this study employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) via SmartPLS 4.0 to analyze the relationships between variables. The results indicate that both social commerce adoption and visual content quality have a significant positive direct effect on MSME sales performance. Furthermore, consumer trust is found to partially mediate these relationships, suggesting that the effectiveness of digital tools and aesthetics is heavily contingent upon the brand's ability to foster a sense of security and reliability among digital consumers. This research provides a strategic roadmap for MSME owners to prioritize high-fidelity visual assets and trust-building mechanisms within their social commerce frameworks to ensure sustainable growth in a volatile digital economy.

Abstract

Language plays a strategic role in shaping individual identity, particularly within the context of higher education. The use of english in universities functions not only as a medium of academic communication but also as a significant factor influencing students’ cultural and academic identity contruction. This study aims to examine the relationship between language, culture, and student udentity at universitas muhammadiyah bone, with a specific focus on english language practices. Employing a qualitative approach with a narrative analysis design, data were collected through in depth interviews with eight students who actively use english in academic settings. The findings reveal that english contributes to the formation of the students’ academic identities as globally oriented individuals, enhances academis self confidences, and serves as a spce for negotiating local identity, islamic values, and global academic demands. This study recommens that english language instruction in higher education be oriented toward fostering cultural awareness and strengthening student identity.

Abstract

Low lighting conditions in CCTV images cause a decrease in the accuracy of the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (E-TLE) system, especially in detecting helmet use among motorcyclists. Dark images with low contrast and high noise hinder the feature extraction process, so that deep learning-based detection models often produce False Negatives. This study proposes the integration of the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) preprocessing method with the YOLOv8 architecture to improve the performance of helmet violation detection in low-light environments. The Helmet Detection dataset is used with the addition of synthetic low-light augmentation to simulate variations in nighttime lighting intensity. Tests show that the use of CLAHE can significantly improve the quality of visual features, as evidenced by the increase in Mean Average Precision (mAP@0.5) from 72.4% in raw images to 89.1% after preprocessing. In addition, the system is still able to operate in real-time with an average speed of 35–37 FPS on a Tesla T4 GPU. These results indicate that the integration of CLAHE and YOLOv8 is effective in improving the reliability of helmet violation detection in low-light conditions and is feasible to be implemented in computer vision-based traffic surveillance systems.
