Abstract

This study evaluates the status of Octopus cyanea fisheries management in Wakatobi Regency based on two domains of the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM): social and economic. A mixed-methods approach was employed, involving observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that the economic domain was categorized as poor (composite score: 48.33), with asset ownership, household income, and savings indicators scoring 2, 1, and 1, respectively. In contrast, the social domain was categorized as very good (composite score: 88.33), with stakeholder participation and local knowledge utilization scoring 3 (good), and fisheries conflict scoring 2 (moderate). These findings underscore the need to strengthen the economic dimension to support holistic and sustainable octopus fisheries management.

Abstract

This classroom action research examines the effectiveness of implementing Project-Based Learning (PjBL) to enhance student engagement and competencies in the Property Business course. The research subjects consisted of 28 sixth-semester students of the Entrepreneurship Study Program at ITBM Kolaka in the 2024/2025 academic year. The study was conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Research instruments included student engagement observation sheets, project report assessment rubrics, and learning process documentation. The results revealed a significant improvement in student engagement, with active participation increasing from 78% in the first cycle to 88% in the second cycle. Analysis of specific project components showed quality improvements in location analysis by 25.8%, cost estimation and Return on Investment (ROI) capabilities by 35.6%, and project report structure by 18.1%. These findings were reinforced by statistical analysis using paired sample t-test, indicating a significant increase in the average score from 3.22 to 4.03 (t(27) = 8.167, p < 0.001). The implementation of PjBL proved effective not only in enhancing conceptual understanding but also in developing analytical, financial, and professional communication skills essential in the property business world.

Abstract

Abstract

MSMEs in Kolaka Regency, such as Patowonua weaving and Tolaki Robusta coffee, play a strategic role in the economy and preservation of local wisdom. However, they face challenges of low digital literacy and communication creativity. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital marketing and creativity on consumer interest in order to formulate innovative marketing strategies based on local wisdom. The methods used are a quantitative survey of 75 consumers (analyzed with PLS-SEM) and qualitative interviews with MSME actors and experts. The results prove that digital marketing and creativity have a positive and significant effect on consumer interest. Strategies such as social media and creativity in products have proven effective in expanding market reach and building loyalty. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of a mixed method approach and the development of a strategy model that specifically combines digital marketing technology with creativity based on unique local potential, such as woven motifs and culinary specialties. The implications of this research are as a practical reference for MSME actors to adopt creative digital strategies, as well as a theoretical basis for the development of marketing literature that is contextual with local wisdom. The integration of these two things is the key to increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study examines the role of a school-based learning community in strengthening teachers’ competencies in educational technology integration in a public lower secondary school located in an urban, resource-constrained educational setting. The school is characterized by high teacher participation in collaborative professional development initiatives aimed at supporting digital transformation. A mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was employed to obtain a comprehensive understanding of how collaborative structures contribute to teacher competency development. Quantitative data were collected through a survey administered to 21 active teacher members of the learning community. Qualitative data were gathered through in-depth interviews and classroom observations and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that technology integration remains influenced by contextual constraints, including limited digital literacy, infrastructure limitations, workload pressures, and policy support challenges. The learning community operates as a Professional Learning Community (PLC), facilitating collaborative inquiry, reflective dialogue, peer support, and structured professional learning activities. Participation in the community appears to support the development of teachers’ competencies within the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, particularly in integrating technology with pedagogy and subject content.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form, process, and impact of collaboration between Catholic Religious Education teachers and parents in implementing the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children in Catholic elementary schools in Samarinda. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a case study design involving eight informants consisting of Catholic Religious Education teachers, the principal, and parents. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, limited participatory observation, and the review of school and church documents. The findings show that collaboration emerges through intensive and directed communication between teachers and parents that supports the alignment of children’s faith formation. Three significant outcomes are highlighted. First, regular communication enables effective coordination in prayer routines and liturgical activities. Second, family involvement in spiritual guidance at home strengthens the consistency of the seven habits. Third, the synergy between school and church yields concrete improvements in students’ spiritual discipline, faith responsibility, and religious character. The study affirms that sustained collaboration between teachers and parents is a strategic foundation for strengthening faith education in Catholic elementary schools.

Abstract

Competition in the bottled drinking water industry requires companies to optimize effective marketing communication strategies in building brand awareness through social media. Although Instagram is widely used as a digital marketing platform, studies examining the implementation of social media marketing using the 4C mode in the context of the AMDK industry remain limited. Furthermore, few studies have analyzed in depth the balance among digital communication strategy dimensions in shaping brand awareness. This study aims to analyze Aquviva’s social media marketing strategy in building brand awareness based on the 4C model, which consist of context, communication, collaboration, dan connection. This research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis of Aquviva’s Instagram posts. The data were analyzed by classifying contont according to indicators within each dimension of the 4C model. The results indicate that the context and communication dimensions are the most dominant aspects of Aquviva’s communication strategy, as reflected in the consistent presentation of educational, health, and lifestyle content, as well as active audience engagement through interactive features. In contrast, the collaboration and connection dimensions remain relatively weak duet o limited strategic partnerships with external parties and suboptimal efforts to build long-term relationships with followers. This condition suggest that Aquviva’s strategy focuses more on message delivery and short term interaction than on strengthening audience loyalty. Theoretically, this study reinforces the relevance of the 4C model in analyzing social media marketing in the AMDK industry. Practically, the findings rovide references for companies in designing more balanced and sustainable digital communcation strategies.

Abstract

Study findings on seaweed cultivation commonly examine production feasibility, livelihood contributions, or blue economy governance in isolation; consequently, the mechanisms connecting policy support, community participation, technology adoption, economic resilience, and wellbeing in small-island sea-grape systems remain insufficiently explained. This study assesses the feasibility and development mechanisms of seaweed (Caulerpa sp.) cultivation and develops a Policy Participation Technology Resilience Wellbeing Framework (PPTRW) for community based blue economy implementation. A convergent mixed-methods design was employed. Quantitative data were collected through a purposive survey of 150 respondents comprising 56 fishers, 62 seaweed farmers, and 32 marine-tourism actors, while qualitative evidence was obtained from observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The analyses included descriptive statistics, the revenue–cost ratio, household-income contribution, Pearson correlation, break-even sensitivity analysis, thematic analysis, TOWS, and data integration using a joint display. The business recorded an R/C ratio of 1.72, an average reported income of IDR 3,150,000 per production cycle, a 22% contribution to household income, and a positive association between business experience and income (r=0.61; p<0.05). Ceteris paribus, the enterprise remains at break-even until revenue falls by approximately 41.86% or costs rise by 72%. Qualitative findings indicate that experience improves site selection, quality control, efficiency, and market access, whereas local institutions, post-harvest technology, and ecotourism integration create pathways toward resilience. The study’s novelty lies in the PPTRW framework, which integrates Blue Economy, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Community Empowerment perspectives at the small island village level. Policy implications include cultivation clusters, marketing cooperatives, cold-chain technology, educational ecotourism packages, and ecological carrying-capacity monitoring.
