Abstract

This study aims to examine local community perceptions of coastal potential development in Tanjung Bira, South Sulawesi, and its impact on economic growth in 2024. Coastal areas play a crucial role in supporting the regional economy through tourism, fisheries, and micro-enterprises. However, the success of such development largely depends on community support and involvement. Success indicators can be measured through the level of acceptance and participation of the local population, economic growth driven by key sectors, and changes in social welfare. Additionally, environmental sustainability, including coastal ecosystem preservation and natural resource management, as well as infrastructure improvements to enhance accessibility and economic activities, are key factors in assessing the development's impact. This study employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The respondents include 150 individuals, comprising fishermen, tourism business operators, and the general public. The findings indicate that 75% of the community holds a positive view of coastal development, particularly in the tourism sector, which is seen as creating job opportunities and increasing income. However, concerns remain regarding environmental impact and socio-cultural changes. Therefore, a participatory and sustainable approach is necessary to ensure that policies not only boost the economy but also preserve the environment and enhance community welfare.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas supervisi pendidikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di SD Negeri Kodeoha, Kecamatan Kodeoha, Kabupaten Kolaka Utara. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dengan fokus pada pengalaman subjektif guru sebagai penerima supervisi dan kepala sekolah sebagai pelaksana supervisi di beberapa sekolah dasar. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola yang muncul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah relatif efektif dalam melaksanakan peran supervisinya, yang mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan tindak lanjut. Supervisi yang diberikan terbukti mampu meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan hasil belajar siswa. Namun, efektivitas secara keseluruhan belum mencapai tingkat yang optimal karena masih dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, seperti manajemen yang belum terstruktur dengan baik, kualitas siswa, mutu layanan pembelajaran, kondisi lingkungan sekolah, komunikasi yang kurang efektif, minimnya benchmarking dengan sekolah berprestasi, orientasi yang lemah terhadap pencapaian status sekolah model, serta pemanfaatan tracer study yang belum maksimal dalam proses evaluasi. Dengan mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor tersebut dan mengintegrasikannya ke dalam proses supervisi, kualitas pendidikan secara keseluruhan dapat ditingkatkan, sehingga sekolah lebih siap untuk mencapai status sebagai lembaga pendidikan percontohan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for developing marine ecotourism in Tolandono Island, Wakatobi Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, to support environmental sustainability and improve the welfare of local communities. A qualitative descriptive method with a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) approach was employed to identify potentials and challenges in ecotourism development. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews with 55 respondents, and focus group discussions (FGD) involving tourism business actors, local communities, tourists, and relevant institutions. The findings reveal that Tolandono Island possesses high marine biodiversity and conservation status, despite challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, low capacity of local human resources, and threats to marine ecosystems from destructive activities and climate change. Four main strategies were formulated: 1) technology-based promotion and development of tourism facilities (SO); 2) human resource training, institutional strengthening, and infrastructure improvement (WO); 3) resource management to address environmental threats (ST); and 4) conservation education and livelihood diversification (WT). The implementation of these strategies is projected to increase tourist visits by 20% annually, contribute up to IDR 2 billion per year to the local economy, and reduce marine ecosystem damage by 25%. This study highlights the importance of collaboration between the government, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure sustainable community-based ecotourism in Tolandono Island.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) has the authority to receive, examine, assess, and decide on administrative violations in elections, including allegations of using fraudulent diplomas during the candidacy process for members of district/city regional legislative councils (DPRD). This study aims to review Koreki Bawaslu RI Decision No. 029/KS/ADM/PL/BWSL/00.00/V/2024, which upheld the Decision of Bawaslu Kota Kendari No. 001/LP/ADM.PL/BWSL.KOTA/28.01/IV/2024, stating that the Kendari City General Election Commission (KPU) had carried out the DPRD candidacy process in accordance with electoral administrative procedures and mechanisms. However, the Directorate of Community and Special Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, through Letter No. 1429/C6/GT.03.03/2024 dated May 10, 2024, indicated that the DPRD Kendari City candidate, identified as LA or LR, was not registered as a participant in the 2008 National Equivalency Examination, which implies that the candidate was not entitled to possess an equivalency Package C diploma. This study employs a normative juridical method to analyze the legal basis of the decision. The findings reveal that Bawaslu Kota Kendari made errors in its legal considerations when ruling on the alleged administrative electoral violation regarding the use of a fraudulent diploma by the Kendari City DPRD candidate.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the forms of social cohesion among single-parent female farmers in Sangia Tiworo Village, South Tiworo District, West Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with an ethnographic method, this research focuses on how social cohesion empowers single-parent female farmers in their daily lives. The findings reveal that the solidarity built among them serves as a crucial factor in maintaining their motivation to manage agricultural land, particularly in cultivating patchouli plants (Pogostemon cablin Benth). The spirit of cooperation among patchouli farmers is evident in various stages, including land preparation, seedling, plant maintenance, and post-harvest activities. This support system encourages them to continue developing their agricultural land despite the challenges they face as single parents. In addition to solidarity, their success is also influenced by a strong work ethic. Principles such as hard work, discipline in time management, proactive engagement in farming, honesty, openness, responsibility, and a strong commitment serve as the foundation for the sustainability of their agricultural endeavors.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of educational play tools (APE) in teaching numbers to early childhood students aged 4-5 years. The research employed a quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample consisted of 15 students from Group A at TK Adhyaksa XII Kendari. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, observations, and documentation. The results revealed a significant improvement in students' average scores from 57.33 (pretest) to 74.00 (posttest). The t-test showed a significant value (p < 0.05), indicating a positive impact of APE on students' learning outcomes. An N-Gain score of 0.3 categorized the improvement as moderate. These findings highlight that APE is effective in enhancing young children's understanding of numerical concepts, although further development is needed for optimal results.

Abstract

This study investigates the motivations of Islamic university leaders in Indonesia regarding the implementation of internationalization, focusing on religious identity, adherence to national policies, and enhancement of institutional reputation. A qualitative case study approach was employed to collect data via semi-structured interviews with seven leaders from two Islamic universities: one public (Rose University) and one private (Tulip University). The findings indicate that leaders of private universities explicitly perceive internationalization as both an Islamic mission and a strategy for enhancing academic reputation. In contrast, state universities prioritize internationalization primarily as a means of adhering to national policies and securing institutional accreditation to enhance global competitiveness. This study presents a novel perspective, indicating that the internationalization of Islamic higher education is influenced not only by academic and economic factors but also significantly by elements of religious ideology.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the effect of product testimonials on online purchase decisions, with trust as a mediating variable. This research is important because there is still limited evidence on how testimonials influence trust and purchase decisions among Management students at Halu Oleo University, Kendari. Data were collected from 90 Management students who had made online purchases in 2024 using purposive sampling. The analysis employed Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), which is appropriate for testing mediation models. The results show that product testimonials have a positive and significant effect on trust and also directly exert a positive and significant influence on online purchase decisions. Trust is proven to significantly affect purchase decisions and partially mediates the relationship between testimonials and purchase decisions. These findings indicate that good and authentic testimonials can enhance consumer trust and encourage online purchase decisions. E-commerce practitioners are advised to manage testimonials honestly and attractively to increase customer trust and boost sales.

Abstract

The rapid growth of internet users in Indonesia has encouraged businesses to expand their marketing activities through social media platforms. Among these, Instagram has emerged as one of the most popular tools for digital marketing communication. Its interactive features, such as comments and direct messages, enable companies to engage directly with consumers, making it an effective medium for brand promotion and image building. This study investigates the influence of Instagram marketing on the brand image of Carasun, a local sunscreen brand that recently gained viral attention due to its controversial marketing campaigns. Employing an explanatory quantitative approach, the research collected data from 396 respondents who are beauty enthusiasts and followers of Carasun’s official Instagram account. The data, measured using a Likert scale through an online questionnaire, were analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings reveal that Instagram marketing has a significant positive impact on Carasun’s brand image, with a contribution of 48.5% and a significance level of p < 0.05. Theoretically, this study enriches the understanding of how social media marketing activities influence brand perception. Practically, it offers valuable insights for marketers in designing content strategies that foster consumer engagement, strengthen purchase intentions, and sustain a positive brand image.

Abstract

Desa Liya Togo memiliki potensi besar untuk mengembangkan agrowisata pesisir sebagai upaya peningkatan ekonomi lokal berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji tingkat partisipasi masyarakat, mengidentifikasi tantangan utama, dan merumuskan strategi pemberdayaan yang adaptif dan berkelanjutan. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis dilakukan secara tematik untuk menggali keterlibatan masyarakat, hambatan, dan peluang yang ada.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Desa Liya Togo, kelompok perempuan dan pemuda berperan aktif dalam budidaya rumput laut, pengolahan singkong menjadi makanan tradisional (Kasoami), minuman herbal (Saraba, Teh Kelor dan Madu Hutan), budidaya bawang merah, serta promosi wisata (Wisata Kebun Edukatif) melalui media sosial. Namun, tantangan seperti infrastruktur jalan yang belum memadai, keterbatasan pelatihan kewirausahaan, dan akses pasar yang terbatas masih menghambat perkembangan agrowisata pesisir. Strategi pemberdayaan yang disarankan meliputi pelatihan rutin berbasis kebutuhan lokal, pembentukan BUMDes wisata, serta integrasi antara agrowisata dan ekowisata bahari.
