Abstract

This study tries to analyze the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share strategy in improving the reading and writing skills of Arabic for the students of the eleventh grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 6 Donomulyo. TPS is a cooperative learning strategy where active learning by students is elicited through participation in learning. It is expected that with the strategy, students will raise their comprehension through discussion and interaction with their peers. With TPS, the activities of students in the learning process are expected to be improved. This research was conducted to determine the effect of TPS on student proficiency in the Arabic language. In descriptive qualitative data collection, observation analysis, interviews, and document analysis are used. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model involving stages of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Triangulation methods were also undertaken to validate the results of this research, thereby comparing sources of data and the methods of their collection. This enhances accuracy and credibility in findings. The approach allows for an in-depth understanding of the phenomena being studied. It was found that the reading and writing skills of the students drastically improve with the implementation of TPS. Before the strategy was carried out, only 35% of the students met or achieved the minimum competency standard for reading and 40% met it for writing. It rose to 83% and 90% for reading and writing, respectively, upon using TPS. The model favored enhancing student involvemen, interest, and understanding in learning. The findings will help in devising ways of teaching Arabic language and shall serve as a guide to the educators in implementing strategies that are cooperative in nature.

Abstract

Women's reproductive health rights mean the authority of a woman to obtain a healthy condition, whether physically healthy, psychologically healthy and socially healthy, which is related to her reproductive system and reproductive processes. Women's reproductive health rights have been regulated in many Indonesian laws, namely the 1945 Constitution, Article 28H, Law No. 39 of 1999 concerning Human Rights (HAM), Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection, Law No. 17 of 2023 in conjunction with Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning Health, and Article 5 of Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence. (PKDRT). Taking a closer look at women's reproductive health rights, especially in the tradition of consanguineous marriages that occur in Madura Islamic Boarding Schools, the law is considered to provide little guarantee regarding women's reproductive health rights. Therefore, this incident requires legal protection to safeguard and/or maintain society in order to achieve justice, because in essence the aim of the law is to achieve justice. Fulfilling justice for women in reproductive health rights is a form of realizing women's human rights (HAM). The research method used is empirical legal research; obtained from interviews and real behavior carried out through direct observation. Meanwhile, the approach used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the research found, firstly, that there is neglect of women's reproductive health rights in the consanguineous marriage tradition in Madura Islamic boarding schools, such as the right to choose a partner, secondly, the right to enjoy sexual relations, thirdly the right to determine pregnancy, fourthly the right to care for and care for children, and fifthly, limited access to information about women's reproductive health rights.

Abstract

In 2024, a number of pilgrims in Semarang City experienced failure in departure, which has the potential to cause psychological impacts, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. This failure can be influenced by various factors, including regulatory, health, and administrative. Therefore, this study aims to explore the psychological experiences of pilgrims who failed to depart in 2024 in Semarang City, as well as identify the main factors that led to their failure to depart. This study utilizes a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to uncover the casual factors of the failure to depart, and a quantitative method to examine the impact of the failute to depart. The research subjects were selected through purposive sampling technique, with a total of 20 pilgrims who experienced departure failure as informants. Data related to causal factors were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the phenomenological analysis method. Meanwhile, the psychological impact was collected through the DASS-42 questionnaire. The results showed that the main factors for failure to depart include financial instability, government policies, health problems, shar'i excuses, and personal reasons. The psychological impact felt by pilgrims is depression, disappointment, and stress with normal to very severe levels. This study reveals that failure to go on Hajj has a significant psychological impact on pilgrims. Therefore, psychological assistance and policy improvements are needed so that pilgrims who experience failure still get adequate emotional support.

Abstract

Losing a father figure is a traumatic experience that can have a significant impact on children's psychological, emotional and social development. In Islamic boarding schools, the religious-communal environment has the potential to be an adaptive resource that strengthens children's resilience. This study aims to identify the protective factors that support their adaptation process and explore the resilience mechanisms of orphaned santri in dealing with losing a father figure. Using a phenomenological qualitative approach, data were obtained through in-depth interviews and participatory observation of six orphaned santri aged 15-18 years in a boarding school in Bantul, Yogyakarta. The analysis was conducted using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. The results showed that the resilience of santri was formed through seven main dimensions: emotion regulation, impulse control, optimism, causal analysis, empathy, self-efficacy, and the ability to reach out. The role of ustadz/ustadzah as a substitute father figure, social support from peers, and the Islamic values-based education system proved to be the main protective factors in building psychological resilience. These findings contribute to developing pesantren-based interventions to support orphans' emotional and social well-being. This study also recommends designing programs or training to improve the overall resilience of santri.

Abstract

The phenomenon of domestic harmony crises in modern society marked by spousal-role dysfunction, rising divorce rates, and disorientation of marital values constitutes an urgent contemporary religious issue that demanding rigorous examination. This study examines the islamic conception of marital harmony through a hermeneutic engagement with classical sources, notably as Imam al-Ghazālī's Iḥyā’ ‘Ulūm al-Dīn and exegetical works including Tafsīr al-Tabarī, Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr, and Tafsīr al-Qurṭubī, etc. Classical texts are reinterpreted by employing Gadamerian hermeneutics, within a dialogical framework between historical and social horizons to derive contemporary relevance. The results of the study demonstrate that the core of Islamic Principles sakinah (tranquility), mawaddah (affection), and rahmah (mercy) can be transformed into ethical-spiritual solutions for modern marital challenges, including authority crises, emotional instability, and digital cultural influences. Thus, hermeneutic analysis of classical texts not only revitalizes islamic values but also provides conceptual-practical foundations for establishing equitable, participatory, and transcendent households.

Abstract

Digital da'wah has become one of the important phenomena in the world of Islamic da'wah in the modern era. This article explores trends in digital da'wah research in Indonesia through a historical approach, using the garuda.kemdikbud.go.id database for the period 2019-2024. The results of the study show a significant increase in the number of articles discussing digital da'wah, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced a transition from conventional da'wah to digital platforms. Social media such as TikTok and Instagram, as well as podcast formats, have become popular tools for spreading Islamic values, especially among the millennial generation. This study also highlights challenges such as competition with non-religious content and limited digital literacy among da'wah practitioners. However, the opportunities for digital da'wah are vast, enabling personalized messaging and a wide audience reach. With technological advancements like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), the future of digital da'wah is expected to be even brighter. This article makes an important contribution to understanding the transformation of digital da'wah and paves the way for further research.

Abstract

This study seeks to investigate the current practices in Arabic language instruction and to formulate a role play-based instructional model grounded in a psychosociolinguistic framework, with the objective of enhancing students speaking proficiency (maharah al-kalam). Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, data were gathered through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The participants consisted of Arabic language teachers and junior secondary school students. The findings reveal that instructional activities remain predominantly conventional, characterized by lecture-based delivery and text-centered exercises. Students oral communication skills are notably underdeveloped, primarily due to the absence of communicative and context-driven speaking opportunities. Furthermore, while teachers are generally unfamiliar with the theoretical construct of psychosociolinguistics, they intuitively acknowledge the significance of psychological and social factors in fostering effective language learning. In response to these conditions, a role play instructional model was designed, comprising three integrated stages: preparatory activities (psycholinguistic), role simulation within authentic social contexts (sociolinguistic), and post-activity reflection. This model is deemed pedagogically viable and relevant for broader implementation in Arabic language instruction, particularly in facilitating the development of students speaking competence through interactive, contextualized, and student-centered learning experiences.

Abstract

This article examines the concepts of religion, identity, and politics, as well as the concept of digital democracy and its impact on political participation in the information technology age. With the rapid growth of digital technologies and the expansion of online platforms, traditional forms of political participation have undergone fundamental changes that raise fundamental questions about the opportunities and threats to the progress of modern democracy. Opportunities such as increased access, facilitating communication between citizens and the government, greater transparency, and the participation of marginalized groups are examined. The role of technologies such as electronic voting, social media, blockchain, and artificial intelligence in improving democratic processes was considered. However, along with these opportunities, challenges such as the digital divide, the spread of misinformation, security risks, and privacy violations were also analyzed. Successful and unsuccessful case studies of the implementation of digital democracy in different countries, such as electronic voting and constitution writing through online participation, shed light on the practical dimensions of this phenomenon. Finally, the article emphasizes the need for smart policymaking, the development of media literacy, the protection of personal data, and the design of inclusive digital platforms to ensure that religion, culture, and identity are not compromised in the digital age. Continuous innovation, institutional adaptability, and collaboration between government, civil society, and technology companies are among the requirements for a successful transition to an inclusive, transparent, and sustainable digital democracy, although there is still a long way to go.
