Abstract

This study aims to describe the errors of prospective teacher students in making math test instruments based on cognitive levels from the Bloom’s Taxonomy Revised (BTR). BTR consists of LOTS (C1-C3) and HOTS (C4-C6) levels. This research included descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 19 prospective teacher students, namely the mathematics education department in the Mathematics Learning Evaluation course. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that prospective teacher students made mistakes at both levels but more at the HOTS level. At the LOTS level, it is on the error level C3; at the HOTS level, it is spread at all levels, namely C4-C6. An indication of error that often arises is that prospective teacher students cannot compile questions according to their level of cognition. The questions made are often still below the level they should be. The level of the questions made is still below the level that it should be.

Abstract

Islamic religious education learning which emphasizes rote learning often causes students to feel bored and lack interest in learning. Students' efforts to memorize material tend to be unstructured and less systematic. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of flashcard media and AnkiDroid on the cognitive outcomes of Islamic Religious Education on the material Rahmat Islam for the Archipelago in Class XII SMA Negeri 1 Kasihan and to make a comparison between the two. This research makes a contribution by exploring the effectiveness of two learning media in improving PAI learning outcomes. To the best of the author's knowledge, there has been no research that specifically compares conventional flashcards with AnkiDroid in the context of PAI subjects. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method with a quasi-experimental research design, namely a nonequivalent control group design. The research results show that both media, both flashcards and AnkiDroid, have a significant influence on PAI's cognitive learning outcomes in the Rahmat Islam Untuk Nusantara material. Nonetheless, there is no significant difference between the two.

Abstract

This study investigates the key components of user education programs offered to undergraduate students at universities in Cross River State, Nigeria, with the goal of enhancing their academic and research skills. These programs are crucial for developing the necessary information literacy among students, and understanding their specific implementation in Cross River State is significant for fostering academic success. However, the effectiveness of these programs in meeting the students' needs has not been thoroughly evaluated. The research addresses the questions: What are the components of user education programs provided to undergraduate students at universities in Cross River State, Nigeria, and are these students satisfied with their use? This area has been under-researched due to a lack of focus on the unique educational context of this region. Using a survey research design, the study sampled 285 out of a total population of 987 third-year undergraduate students, selected through proportionate stratified random sampling using the Taro Yamane formula. Data were collected using questionnaires administered personally by the researcher with assistance from two research aides and analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency counts and percentages. The findings indicated that the user education programs include components such as information literacy, digital literacy, research skills, library usage, and academic writing skills. Most students reported satisfaction with the programs. The study recommends enhancing these programs with more practical sessions and additional resources to improve the student learning experience.

Abstract

The world has recently suffered from the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, as the number of victims of this epidemic has increased significantly, and people have lost their families and loved ones in a short time. The feeling of inability to face the difficulties resulting from this pandemic had bad repercussions on the mental health of many people, especially those with disabilities, who faced difficulty in continuing their already unstable daily routines. In this work, a comparative study is carried out to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the morale of the vocational program students. The study concerns non-disabled students and deaf, hard-of-hearing students. For this, a DASS test was applied to extract the states of stress, anxiety, and depression. A second test called MFT is applied to extract the main causes and effects. The results are surprising since all cases show a negative effect on the part of deaf and hard of hearing compared to other student.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how students' problem-solving abilities use Polya stages in completing space building material. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were taken by 3 students from 27 students of grade VIII.f SMP Negeri 2 Galesong Selatan. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ability to solve mathematical problems to solve the material to build space with the Polya stage is a high-ability student, that is, students are able to meet the problem-solving indicators even though there are some indicators that are not written down but can be explained at the interview, and it does not mean that students are not able to solve the problem. It's just that students don't want to be complicated and rewrite which in the end is rewritten in the next indicator. Students with moderate ability, namely students are able to meet the indicators of problem solving, but there are some students who misunderstand the concept of solving problems, because they do not match what is planned with what is written in solving problems because students are in a hurry to solve problems. Low-ability students, namely students are only able to meet 2 indicators because they do not understand the plan to be used in solving the problem.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to assess student achievement in reading comprehension through the implementation of the problem-based learning (PBL) method and to determine whether this method has a significant impact on students’ achievements in understanding of idioms founds on Agatha Christine’s novel for 11th grade in SMA N 1 Onanrunggu. The research used experimental-quantitative design with the population is 11th grade students at SMA N 1 Onanrunggu, with has five parallel classes and total the students are 145. Two classes were selected as samples, namely XI MIPA 1 and XII MIPA 2, where XI MIPA 2 became a group of experiments taught using the problem based learning method, while XI Mipa 1 became a control group taught by the conventional method. The data collection used a double-choice test and data analysis used the t-test. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in student values from pre-test to post-test in the experimental group. Statistical analysis shows that t-observed values are greater than t-table values (2.5 > 2,000) at the significance level of 0.05. This indicates that the zero hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypotheses (Ha) are accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of problem-based learning methods has a significant influence on student performance in reading comprehension. This conclusion confirms the positive and significant impact of the use of problem-based learning methods in the context of the reading comprehension of eleventh grade of SMA N 1 Onanrunggu.
