Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Student Leadership Basic Training at MAS YPI Batang Kuis, focusing on the effectiveness of the methods used to instill leadership attitudes in students. Changes in approach and the implementation of democratic leadership styles are crucial aspects under evaluation. The research method employed is a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis related to the implementation of LDKS in the school. Data collection occurred during the LDKS implementation period and some time thereafter. The results of the study indicate that the one-month implementation of LDKS at MAS YPI Batang Kuis successfully instilled leadership attitudes in students with a democratic approach. Periodic evaluations, the establishment of the Intra-Madrasa Student Organization (OSIM), and changes in content and approach were determining factors for success. Positive attitudes, discipline, responsibility, and communication skills appear internalized in the day-to-day activities of the OSIM officials. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that schools conducting LDKS consider the application of democratic leadership styles in teaching and evaluation. Involving students in decision-making processes, improving communication, and assigning responsibilities can be effective steps in shaping sustainable leadership attitudes.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide education on the management of philanthropy according to Islamic law. The objective is to benefit participants in understanding the practical aspects of managing household finances in accordance with Sharia, thereby contributing to the government's community empowerment programs. The research employs a qualitative approach, focusing on the understanding and behavioral changes within the community. Data is collected through direct engagement with sources during the implementation of the community service activities. The collection techniques include: 1) Interviews with key informants and participants, 2) Observations of activities, and 3) Documentation studies. The primary data sources are the informants and members of the "Traders' Mutual Aid Union Pajak Kuburan". Thematic analysis is applied to analyze the collected data. The research findings indicate: 1) Initial issues reveal that members of the "Traders' Pajak Kuburan Bandar Selamat Medan Tembung" still have limited understanding of Islamic philanthropy. 2) The chosen community service methods are: (a) Lecture method, (b) Tutorial method (Mentoring), and (c) Discussion method. The outcomes of this community service recommend the necessity of sustained programs to deepen the understanding of Islamic philanthropy and measure its implementation impact in daily life.

Abstract

The efforts to empower the people of East Kaduara Village, Pragaan District, Sumenep Regency have provided knowledge, awareness, and full power of the people in achieving changes to become a more independent society. This study uses qualitative methods, in which the researcher becomes the key instrument. The data collection technique is carried out in a triangulation (combined) manner, the data is inductive in nature, and the results of the research are focused on the core or meaning and not globally. Based on the place of implementation, this research is field research and literature. If reviewed based on its use, this research is applied research (applied research). The research results show that creative economy-based community empowerment activities have gone through 1) The process of creative economy-based community empowerment is carried out through the activities of making creative economic products in Kaduara Timur Village, Pragaan District, Sumenep Regency which includes the stages of implementation. 2) There is potential for natural resources, human resources, and business potential in East Kaduara Village, Pragaan District, Sumenep Regency, it is proven that the community can utilize and develop local potential. 3) By forming community groups, it will be easier to mobilize community empowerment, such as fishermen groups, Gapoktan, and others. 4) Community participation occurs by providing awareness. 5) Training has been given even in 1 year 4-5 times received training. It is hoped that after receiving the training the results can be developed with their group mates.

Abstract

Reading literacy is one of the most important things to improve. One of the efforts that can be done is to train students of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teacher education study program to use big book as a medium that can improve the reading literacy skills of early grade students. Qualitative method is chosen to find out students' opinions on the use of big books for early-grade students. As many as 15 students of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teacher education study program were selected to use the big book as their learning medium when they were carrying out internships at five Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in the city of Medan. Each student shared their experience of using big book in the early grades of elementary school, this experience including the advantages and disadvantages of big book, their impressions, and suggestions on using Big book for early grade teachers.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the skills and knowledge of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tambang Besi Village, focusing on the production and marketing of traditional snacks. With an emphasis on product diversification and the utilization of digital marketing, the research objectives encompass enhancing local economic growth, expanding market access, and preserving the authenticity of traditional flavors. The study employs a community engagement approach involving both faculty and students in mentoring activities. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, document analysis, and mentoring. The findings of the research are as follows: 1) The planning phase involves setting objectives and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of MSMEs. The implementation phase includes socialization, product creation, and promotion through social media. Evaluation is conducted through survey-interviews and social media analysis to measure the progress of MSMEs during the development period. 2) The addition of dumplings as a diversification effort has successfully aligned with the tastes of children and teenagers, enhancing the appeal of MSME products. The effective use of digital marketing through social media has increased product visibility, evident in the rise in likes, comments, and shares. 3) The mentoring activities also identified weaknesses, such as limited knowledge in marketing, insufficient skills in innovation, and restricted market access. Based on the research outcomes, it is recommended to continuously integrate innovative products following the latest food trends and strengthen digital marketing strategies. MSME participants should consistently receive guidance in managing and expanding market access while enhancing skills in utilizing social media.

Abstract

This study aims to develop children's gross motor skills through creative gymnastics activities at the Baitul Ishlah Lhokseumawe Study Center. The type of research used is classroom action research. The technique of collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation with qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results showed that creative gymnastics activities can develop gross motor skills of the children in the Baitul shlah Lhokseumawe Research Center. Cycle I show the gross motor development of children who have not developed as many as 4 children or 11 children who are developin and those who are developing according to expectations and developing very well do not exist. In the second cycle, there was gross motoric development of the children, namely 13 very well-developed children and 2 children who developed according to expectations, while there were no more children who began to develop and had not developed. As for how to develop children's gross motor skills through creative gymnastics activities carried out by the steps 1) Stand up straight while stretching out your arms as in a prayer movement, opening your legs and looking forward. 2) do the walking in place, stretch your hands to the left and right then swing your hands forward while shaking them. 3) Walk sideways to the left and right while shaking hands, cutting right and left movements while stomping alternately. 4) The legs are shoulder-width apart, arms straight up and do up and down movements forwards and backwards and leaning the left and right sides.

Abstract

This research aims to document and analyze the implementation of the "lempar selendang" cultural tradition in Sukajaya Punduh Village, Lampung. The primary focus is to understand the existence, development, and values embedded in this tradition. This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews with traditional figures, youth, and young women in Sukajaya Punduh Village. Direct observations are conducted during the "lempar selendang" event, and a documentation approach is used to gather historical information related to this tradition. The research findings indicate: 1) The implementation of the "lempar selendang" cultural tradition in Sukajaya Punduh Village demonstrates continuity and adaptation to changes over time. 2) Despite shifts in the music used, values such as togetherness, camaraderie, and the sustainability of traditions are maintained. 3) Positive impacts of this event involve the enhancement of social skills, happiness, and the introduction of culture to outsiders. The research recommends the necessity of preservation efforts involving informal education for younger generations. The role of information technology can be optimized to promote and preserve traditional values.

Abstract

This community service-based research aims to evaluate and develop the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IAI Almuslim Aceh and Maahad Tahfiz Kiblah. The study adopts a collaborative and participatory Action Research approach, involving faculty members, students, and stakeholders from both institutions to work together in enhancing the quality of Islamic education and the capacity of educators. The research method involves stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The planning stage includes identifying the needs and issues at IAI Almuslim Aceh, followed by the implementation of programs such as On-the-Job Training (OJT), faculty training, and the development of a joint curriculum that integrates Islamic educational values and Acehnese local wisdom. The results of the study indicate that the OJT program and faculty training have had a significant positive impact on the development of competencies among students and lecturers, as well as on the enhancement of teaching skills that are technology-based and interactive. The development of the joint curriculum has also successfully created a more holistic learning approach, integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, and aligning with both global challenges and local needs. The implications of this research include the development of an effective inter-institutional collaboration model to improve the quality of Islamic education, strengthen educator capacity, and promote inclusivity and sustainability in community service-based educational programs.

Abstract

International programs are a vital strategy for expanding the participation of academic and non-academic communities in global mobility activities, supporting the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education. In this context, Institut Agama Islam (IAI) Almuslim Aceh organized an international program in Malaysia from June 11-14, 2023, to strengthen academic cooperation and community service. An action research approach was employed as it allows researchers to directly intervene and observe the changes occurring during the collaboration program. Data collection techniques included direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed through the steps of grouping, categorizing, and interpreting the data. This study utilized an evaluative approach based on the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The results of this program indicated an increase in the knowledge and awareness of Indonesian citizens regarding the importance of applying knowledge appropriately according to social contexts and development needs. Additionally, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Sulthan Azlan Shah in Malaysia resulted in student and faculty exchange programs aimed at enhancing educational quality and broadening the global perspectives of the participants. Collaboration in an international conference with Universiti Malaya created opportunities for knowledge and cultural exchange, as well as strengthened cross-cultural cooperation in education and research. The implications of this program are the strengthening of institutional capabilities in implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education internationally, as well as the improvement of education quality and future global cooperation.

Abstract

This study focuses on enhancing the skills of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers in Lhokseumawe in the creation of creative learning media. The training aims to improve and elevate the practices of media creation, which have been considered simplistic and uneven across different teaching materials. The approach used is action research. The study was conducted in two sessions on January 20-21, 2022. The research method includes a cycle of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques involved interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this action research demonstrate that the training, attended by 20 participants, was successful in improving their practical skills in creating creative learning media. However, participants felt that the duration of the training was too short and expressed a desire for more in-depth material and longer discussion sessions. The evaluation also showed general satisfaction with the material and facilitators. The implications of this research indicate the need for developing a continuous training program with a more flexible schedule and more comprehensive material. Increasing the allocation of time for discussion and practice should also be considered. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of future training, focusing on improving the quality of learning media and the skills of teachers in creating more innovative teaching materials that meet the needs of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah education.
