Abstract

Stunting is one of the nutritional problems experienced by several countries in the world, especially developing countries including Indonesia. The prevalence of stunting in Majene Regency reaches 35.7%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the age at which complementary foods were introduced and the incidence of stunting. The population in this study were toddlers aged 24-59 months. The sample in this study was obtained using a saturated sample technique, namely the entire population was sampled. To analyze the test data used the chi-square test. The results of the statistical test showed a p value (0.038) <0.05, which means that there is a relationship between the age of introduction of breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Toddlers with an earlier introduction of weaning food have a risk of 2.595 times experiencing stunting compared to toddlers whose introduction of weaning food is on time Keywords: stunting; weaning food; toddlers.

Abstract

Anemia merupakan masalah gizi yang paling utama di Indonesia. Anemia dapat disebabkan oleh penyakit infeksi, asupan zat gizi yang kurang, kehilangan darah (menstruasi) dan pengetahuan yang dimiliki. Remaja putri merupakan salah satu kelompok yang rawan menderita anemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi anemia dan hubungan antara pengetahuan dan status gizi dengan kejadian anemia pada remaja putri usia 13-15 tahun di kecamatan Galesong Selatan, kabupaten Takalar. Desain penelitian adalah cross-sectional dengan 247 sampel pada siswi sekolah menengah pertama dengan tehnik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, pemeriksaan kadar hemoglobin, dan pengukuran antropometri. Pengukuran antropometri diubah menjadi indeks status gizi menggunakan perangkat lunak Anthro Plus dari WHO. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi anemia sebesar 17,8%. Tidak terdapat hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan kejadian anemia dan tidak terdapat hubungan status gizi dengan kejadian anemia (p > 0,05). Diharapkan kepada sekolah bersama puskesmas untuk memberikan pendidikan gizi/penyuluhan tentang gizi seimbang pada remaja, kesehatan reproduksi, suplementasi gizi dan asam folat serta pengadaan kantin sekolah dalam pengembangan program pencegahan dan penanggulangan anemia sehingga remaja terhindar dari anemia. Abstract

Anemia merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang banyak terjadi dan tersebar di seluruh dunia, baik di negara berkembang maupun negara miskin. Remaja putri merupakan salah satu kelompok yang rawan menderita anemia. Remaja putri memiliki resiko sepuluh kali lebih besar untuk menderita anemia dibandingkan remaja putra. Salah satu faktor terjadinya anemia gizi besi yaitu asupan dan serapan zat besi yang tidak adekuat, dikarenakan kebiasaan mengkonsumsi makanan yang dapat mengganggu penyerapan zat besi. Pengetahuan seseorang akan sangat berpengaruh terhadap sikap dan perilaku dalam pemilihan makanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian penyuluhan gizi terhadap pengetahuan remaja putri tentang anemia di MTs DDI Lapeo Kecamatan Campalagian Kabupaten Polewali Mandar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimental dimana bentuk desain yang dipakai adalah one group pre-test dan post-test dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 62 orang. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil pengetahuan tentang anemia yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan intervensi berupa penyuluhan gizi p(<0,05).

Abstract

Immunization is the process of making a person immune or resistant to an infectious disease. Overall, Universal Child Immunization (ICU) states that Indonesia has the fourth highest prevalence in the world. Immunization has been proven to be one of the most important public health efforts. Through immunization, it can show great success because it is an effort to prevent infectious diseases. Immunization is influenced by several factors, including the mother's age, level of education, employment, number of children and family support. This research is a descriptive analytical study with a cross sectional approach which aims to see the relationship between family support and children's basic immunization status. The sample in this study was 84 children selected using a cluster random sampling technique with bivariate and univariate analysis using the chisquare test. Data were collected using a family support questionnaire and immunization completeness status. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between family support and basic immunization status for children in the Totoli health center working area with a p value of: 0.000. Family support in providing informational, appreciation, instrumental and emotional support has a big influence on maternal compliance in completing basic immunization status for children.

Abstract

Anak sekolah merupakan sasaran strategis dalam perbaikan gizi masyarakat. Hal ini menjadi penting karena anak sekolah sedang mengalami pertumbuhan secara fisik dan mental yang sangat diperlukan untuk menunjang kehidupannya di masa mendatang (Depkes RI, 2005). Tujuan umum dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran status gizi murid Sekolah Dasar usia 6-7 tahun di Kecamatan Tinambung Kabupaten Polewali Mandar. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan desain cross-sectional. Pengambilan sampel secara accidental sampling, dengan kriteria inklusi berada ditempat saat pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pada anak usia sekolah (6-7 tahun) berdasarkan indeks IMT menurut umur sebagian besar berada pada status gizi baik namun tetap ditemukan anak dengan status gizi kurang dan gizi lebih. Berdasarkan indeks TB menurut umur, ditemukan bahwa meskipun cukup banyak anak yang tidak mengalami stunting, namun jumlah anak yang mengalami stunting dan stunting berat lebih banyak dibandingkan anak yang tidak mengalami stunting atau normal. Kesimpulan perbaikan gizi pada anak usia sekolah perlu diupayakan oleh banyak pihak termasuk didalamnya adalah orang tua dan keluarga siswa, pihak sekolah, serta pemerintah sebagai penentu kebijakan. Abstract

One of the indicators of a country’s success in improving public health is the reduction in infant mortality rates (IMR). One of the main contributors to the high IMR is Low Birth Weight (LBW). Babies born with LBW tend to experience cognitive developmental disorders, mental retardation, and are more prone to infections that can lead to illness or even death.This study aims to examine the extent to which one of the factors causing low birth weight, namely maternal infectious diseases, is associated with LBW incidence. The research was conducted in Majene Regency, specifically in the East Banggae and Banggae subdistricts. This study employed a cross-sectional design with an accidental sampling method involving 80 respondents. In this study, we observed symptoms of infections such as sore throat, nasal congestion, fever, and cough lasting less than two weeks. Statistical analysis revealed that none of the variables were significant (p-value > 0.05). It is important to conduct further research on the relationship between maternal infectious diseases and LBW, focusing on different study locations. Abstract

Stunting adalah kondisi di mana anak gagal tumbuh atau mengalami keterlambatan pertumbuhan akibat kekurangan gizi jangka panjang. Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) bertujuan untuk memperbaiki status gizi dan memenuhi kebutuhan gizi sesuai dengan usia mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan praktik pemberian PMT dan hubungannya dengan kejadian stunting pada anak usia 6-23 bulan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Maros Baru, Kabupaten Maros. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan potong lintang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode multiple random sampling terhadap 171 balita. Pengukuran tinggi badan anak dilakukan menggunakan Length Board. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengukur pengetahuan ibu, ketepatan pemberian PMT, dan kecukupan komponen PMT siap saji. Uji validitas kuesioner dilakukan pada 30 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar ibu (91%) memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup tentang PMT, namun 95% ibu memberikan PMT dengan tidak tepat. Selain itu, 77% ibu memberikan komponen PMT siap saji dengan benar. Kesimpulannya, meskipun sebagian besar ibu memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup tentang PMT, ketepatan pemberian PMT masih tergolong tidak akurat, meskipun mayoritas ibu memberikan komponen PMT siap saji dengan benar.

Abstract

Campalagian Community Health Center is one of the health centers in Campalagian District, Polewali Mandar Regency, the problem in this study is related to the examination of pregnant women according to standards has not met the SPM target, maternal health services according to standards have also not reached the target and there is a maternal and child mortality rate every year in the Campalagian Community Health Center work area. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to the quality of maternal and child health services at Campalagian Community Health Center. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 94 respondents, Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire instrument. The results of the study showed that the variables that were significantly related to the quality of maternal and child health services were, continuity of service p = (0.002), Access to services p = (0.001), and comfort p = (0.005), while the variables that did not have a significant relationship with the quality of maternal and child health services were Interpersonal Relations p = (0.952). The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between the variables of service continuity, access to services, comfort with the quality of maternal and child health services, and there is no significant relationship between the variables of interpersonal relationships with the quality of maternal and child health services at the Campalagian Community Health Center.

Abstract

Background: Underweight is a lack of energy and nutrients needed according to age. Children's nutritional status can be affected by two things, namely insufficient food intake and infectious diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving smoked flying fish nuggets and fresh flying fish nuggets on underweight toddlers. This study is a type of experimental Quasi research with a pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design. Sample selection uses the Slovin formula. The research sample was underweight toddlers aged 24-59 months in Tallu Banua Village, Sendana District, Majene Regency who met the inclusion criteria. The number of samples was 38 toddlers, 19 people for the fresh flying fish nugget intervention group and 19 people for the smoked flying fish nugget intervention group. The results showed that the average weight gain was 1.6 kg when given fresh flying fish nuggets and the average weight gain was 1.4 kg when given smoked flying fish nuggets. Conclusion: fresh and smoked flying fish nuggets had a significant effect on underweight toddlers in the Tallu Banua Village area (p=0.000). The next researcher suggestion is expected to conduct more in-depth research related to the Effect of Giving Flying Fish Nuggets on the Weight of Toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that occurs over a long period and can be transmitted across generations. One of the key strategies to prevent stunting is providing adequate complementary feeding in both quality and quantity, as nutritional fulfillment plays a vital role in a child's growth. Nutrition education for Posyandu cadres serves as a strategic effort to enhance their role in stunting prevention.Objective: This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of nutrition education in improving cadres' knowledge regarding the preparation of supplementary food (PMT) using local food ingredients at Paccerakkang Public Health Center, Makassar City. Methods: This research used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 30 Posyandu cadres were selected using quota sampling. Results: The findings showed that the average knowledge score increased from 5.77 (pre-test) to 9.83 (post-test). The paired sample t-test and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test indicated a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001), confirming that the training had a substantial impact on improving cadre knowledge. Conclusion: Training on the preparation of supplementary food based on local ingredients effectively enhances Posyandu cadres' knowledge and supports community-level efforts to prevent stunting.
