Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat melalui program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Riset Prodi Kelompok 18 di Masjid Baiturrahim, Kelurahan Sumur Dewa, Kota Bengkulu dilaksanakan untuk mengembangkan potensi dan bakat anak dalam bidang keagamaan Islam. Fenomena minimnya ruang aktualisasi bakat anak di lingkungan masjid menjadi latar belakang kegiatan ini. Program Gebyar Kompetisi Keagamaan dirancang menggunakan pendekatan Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) yang bertumpu pada potensi nyata komunitas. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap Discovery, Dream, Design, dan Destiny. Kegiatan lomba mencakup cabang azan, hafalan surah pendek, dan busana muslim. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kepercayaan diri, keberanian tampil di depan publik, dan sportivitas anak. Sebanyak 87% peserta menyatakan puas terhadap program ini berdasarkan hasil Societal Impact Index. Program ini berkontribusi dalam memperkuat karakter Islami generasi muda dan mendorong partisipasi aktif komunitas masjid dalam pengembangan pendidikan nonformal

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik Riset Program Studi Kelompok 18 dilaksanakan di Masjid Baiturrahim, Kelurahan Sumur Dewa, Kecamatan Selebar, Kota Bengkulu, dengan memanfaatkan aset berupa Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPQ) yang sudah berjalan serta tradisi gotong royong masyarakat setempat. Observasi awal menemukan dua kebutuhan utama, yaitu belum meratanya kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an dan pemahaman keislaman dasar anak-anak, serta belum lengkapnya sarana penunjang masjid seperti denah lokasi, plang nama RT/RW, papan kepengurusan, dan alat kebersihan. Program ini bertujuan menguatkan literasi Al-Qur’an dan dasar-dasar keislaman peserta didik TPQ sekaligus melengkapi sarana prasarana fisik Masjid Baiturrahim. Pelaksanaan mengikuti tahapan Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), yaitu Discovery (pemetaan aset dan kebutuhan bersama guru TPQ dan pengurus masjid), Dream (perumusan visi bersama warga), Design (perancangan program pendampingan dan pengadaan fasilitas), dan Destiny (pelaksanaan serta komitmen keberlanjutan). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kategori peserta yang lancar membaca Al-Qur’an dari 20% menjadi 35% dan penurunan kategori belum lancar dari 45% menjadi 15%, serta terealisasinya tujuh item sarana masjid dengan tingkat penyelesaian 100%. Jamaah dan orang tua peserta memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap kedua program, yang tercermin dari meningkatnya partisipasi gotong royong dan antusiasme belajar anak-anak. Simpulan kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan berbasis aset mampu menyinergikan penguatan pendidikan keagamaan dan pembangunan infrastruktur fisik secara berkelanjutan di lingkungan masjid.

Abstract

Poorly managed household organic waste can cause environmental pollution. One management effort that can be undertaken is processing fruit peel waste into eco-enzymes, a liquid resulting from the fermentation of organic waste that is useful as a natural cleaner, liquid fertilizer, and odor remover. This activity was carried out in RT 21, Pagar Dewa Village, Bengkulu City, with the aim of increasing community knowledge and skills in managing organic waste independently. The methods used included outreach, eco-enzyme production training, mentoring, and evaluation. Eco-enzymes were made with a ratio of 10 parts water, 3 parts fruit peel waste, and 1 part brown sugar or molasses, fermented for 90 days. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding regarding organic waste management and the use of eco-enzymes. In addition to reducing the volume of household waste, eco-enzymes also provide environmental and economic benefits. Therefore, utilizing fruit peel waste into eco-enzymes can be a simple and sustainable solution to support community-based waste management.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to strengthen the professional competence of Senior High School teachers in Batahan District by integrating Deep Learning technology into digital-based learning. The program responds to the demands of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0, which require innovative, interactive, and adaptive teaching. However, limited training, weak digital infrastructure, and minimal technical guidance still hinder the use of digital media in schools. The program was carried out using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) model through discovering, mapping, connecting, and developing stages. Activities included intensive training, hands-on workshops, and mentoring in AI-based media development using ChatGPT, Gamma, Canva, and Quiziz. The results show increased teacher literacy in technology, creativity in pedagogy, and the ability to produce contextual AI-based digital media. This PKM contributes to developing innovative learning practices and is expected to encourage sustainable digital culture in Batahan schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Student Centered Learning (SCL) model on the learning motivation of seventh-grade students at SMPN 21 Bengkulu City. The background of this research is the low learning motivation of students, indicated by passive behavior, lack of initiative, and low enthusiasm during lessons.This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 62 students divided into an experimental class (using SCL) and a control class (using conventional methods). The research instrument was a learning motivation questionnaire tested for validity and reliability, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.87.The results showed a significant increase in the experimental class, from an average pretest score of 68.45 to a posttest score of 82.13. Meanwhile, the control class increased only from 67.98 to 71.24. A simple linear regression test produced a significance value of 0.017 (< 0.05), indicating a positive and significant effect of SCL on students’ learning motivation.The study concludes that SCL effectively enhances both intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation. Students become more diligent, more interested in learning, more independent, and more achievement-oriented. Therefore, teachers are recommended to apply student-centered learning more frequently.

Abstract

The development of educational technology requires universities to adopt an adaptive and student-centered learning approach. However, the implementation of a deep learning approach in the learning process still faces various obstacles, such as limited lecturer understanding, a lack of implementation strategies, and suboptimal technology integration in teaching and learning activities. This community service activity aims to improve lecturers' competency in designing and implementing deep learning-based adaptive strategies to support the quality of learning at Muhammadiyah University of Palembang. The methods used include socialization, training, intensive mentoring, and evaluation. The training focused on understanding the concept of deep learning, designing adaptive learning, and utilizing supporting technology. Next, mentoring was provided in the development of learning tools and their implementation in the classroom. Evaluation was carried out through observation, questionnaires, and analysis of learning quality improvements. The results of the activity showed an increase in lecturers' understanding and skills in developing deep learning-based learning strategies. In addition, there was an increase in active student participation, critical thinking skills, and the quality of learning interactions. Lecturers were also able to integrate technology more effectively into the learning process. The conclusion of this activity is that mentoring with deep learning-based adaptive strategies is effective in improving the quality of learning in higher education. This program is recommended to be implemented sustainably with the support of institutional policies to achieve more optimal improvements in the quality of education.

Abstract

Abstract Individuals with dwarfism represent one of the most stigmatized yet least studied groups in Indonesian social science. Despite growing attention to disability and social exclusion, no prior study has examined how stigma is socially constructed and systematically reproduced within a homogeneous rural community in Indonesia. This study addresses that gap by analyzing the social construction of stigma against individuals with dwarfism in Palak Siring Village, Kedurang District, South Bengkulu Regency, with particular attention to the mechanisms of labeling, stereotyping, and social exclusion as theorized by Goffman (1963) and Link & Phelan, (2001). Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a single case study design, data were collected over one month (26 February– 26 March 2026) through in-depth interviews with five individuals with dwarfism, the village head, community members, and the parent of one participant, supplemented by participant observation and document analysis. Findings reveal that stigma is constructed and reproduced through five interrelated mechanisms: verbal stigma via normalized derogatory labeling; nonverbal stigma through excessive staring and patronizing attention; ability stereotyping that conflates physical difference with functional incapacity; indirect social discrimination through passive-only participation in community activities; and self-stigma resulting from the internalization of these cumulative stigmatic experiences. The study further identifies three distinct interaction patterns among participants, ranging from social withdrawal to selective and active engagement, shaped by individual resilience, personality, and family support. Efforts to reduce stigma remain informal, situational, and structurally unsupported. This study concludes that sustainable change requires a comprehensive approach that addresses not only individual attitudes but also the structural and cultural conditions that perpetuate stigma, including community education on dwarfism, strengthened village leadership, and the development of systematic inclusive social programs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran mahasiswa UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu dalam mengembangkan sikap Toleransi sejak usia sekolah dasar di RT 19 Kota Bengkulu. Sikap saling menghargai merupakan salah satu nilai penting dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat yang perlu ditanamkan sejak dini agar tercipta lingkungan yang harmonis, toleran, dan saling menghormati. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian meliputi mahasiswa, anak-anak usia sekolah dasar, serta masyarakat sekitar RT 19 Kota Bengkulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki peran penting dalam menanamkan sikap saling menghargai melalui kegiatan pembelajaran, pendekatan sosial, permainan edukatif, serta pemberian contoh perilaku yang baik kepada anak-anak. Kegiatan tersebut mampu meningkatkan rasa toleransi, kerja sama, dan kepedulian sosial pada anak usia sekolah dasar. Selain itu, dukungan masyarakat dan lingkungan sekitar turut membantu keberhasilan program yang dilakukan mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, upaya mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan sikap saling menghargai sejak usia sekolah dasar memberikan dampak positif terhadap pembentukan karakter anak di lingkungan masyarakat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi dalam pengembangan pendidikan karakter dan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di lingkungan sosial.

Abstract

Cultural literacy plays an important role in helping younger generations recognize and understand local cultural identity amid the rapid development of digital technology. However, the increasing use of digital entertainment media has caused children to become less familiar with local folklore, including the Danau Dendam Tak Sudah legend in Bengkulu. This community service activity aimed to strengthen children's cultural literacy through the use of the Danau Dendam Tak Sudah animated film as a local cultural learning medium in RT 19, Karang Indah Village, Selebar District, Bengkulu City. The method used in this program was the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which consisted of the stages of discovery, dream, design, and destiny. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and evaluation using pretests and posttests involving 15 participants. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of folklore and local cultural values. The average participant score increased from 5.53 in the pretest to 8.33 in the posttest, indicating an improvement of 28%. In addition, participants demonstrated positive enthusiasm during the film screening and discussion sessions. This activity indicates that audiovisual media based on local folklore can serve as an engaging and accessible cultural learning alternative to improve children’s cultural literacy.

Abstract

Digital transformation within local youth organizations faces challenges regarding information technology proficiency and the availability of official publication platforms. This community service initiative aims to accelerate digital literacy within the Karang Taruna Kali Pasir RW 08 youth organization through training in AI-based website development (using Gemini AI and UX Pilot). The implementation method comprises three main stages: preparation (partner needs analysis and material design), execution (seminars, hands-on workshops covering HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and prompt-engineering guidance), and evaluation and output refinement. Evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in participants' cognitive understanding, evidenced by an increase in the average score from 69 in the pre-test to 97 in the post-test, and a Normalized Gain (N-Gain) index of 0.9125, placing it in the high-effectiveness category. The program's tangible output is the "TarunaHub" web profile, featuring modules for an Overview Dashboard, Event Management, Organizational Gallery, and Organizational Structure. Discussions with the partner organization reveal that the TarunaHub platform and AI proficiency have successfully resolved the lack of digital publication media and empowered the organization's administrators to independently document activities and manage organizational information sustainably.
