Abstract

This article presents a literature review on the implementation of the deep learning approach in the context of Social Studies (IPS) education, particularly in developing students’ critical thinking skills. Deep learning encourages students to understand concepts comprehensively, connect new information with prior knowledge, and engage in meaningful analysis and reflection. Based on a review of various national and international studies, this approach has been shown to enhance student engagement, conceptual understanding, and higher-order thinking skills. The article also outlines implementation challenges, practical recommendations for teachers, and directions for future research.

Abstract

The development of digital communication technology has significantly transformed the way companies interact with their customers, especially through platforms like WhatsApp as a service medium. PT Putera Bangun, a property developer, utilizes WhatsApp to communicate effectively with residents of Taman Sukamulya Indah Housing in Cikarang. This study aims to analyze the impact of employee service quality delivered via WhatsApp on resident satisfaction. The theoretical framework of this study is grounded in Interpersonal Communication Theory (Littlejohn & Foss, 2008), Media Richness Theory (Daft & Lengel, 1986), Servqual Theory (Parasuraman, Zeithaml, & Berry, 1988), Organizational Communication Theory (Robbins, 2005), and Customer Satisfaction Theory (Oliver, 1980). A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using a survey method. The population consisted of residents of Taman Sukamulya Indah who use PT Putera Bangun’s WhatsApp services, with a purposive sample of 64 respondents. The research instrument was a closed-ended questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale measuring four dimensions of service quality: responsiveness, reliability, empathy, and assurance. Data were collected through both online and face-to-face questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple regression. The findings reveal that most respondents rated PT Putera Bangun’s WhatsApp services as fairly good across all service dimensions. However, the majority of responses fell into the “fairly agree” category, indicating room for improvement—particularly in response speed, consistency of information, and the overall positive impression of the services. These results affirm the relevance of interpersonal communication and media richness theories in digital service contexts and demonstrate how improving service quality can significantly enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty..

Abstract

The goal of this research focuses on analyzing the correlation between several essential performance indicators, such as return on assets, Total Assets Turnover, and debt to equity ratios, with respect to projected financial distress. The research subjects are corporations operating in the telecommunications sub-sector listed on the IDX from 2018 to 2024. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a descriptive and verification orientation. The data specifications utilized are numerical/quantitative data referring to secondary data in the form of annual accounting documentation of telecommunications sub-sector corporations published in 2018 to 2024. The approach to sample selection method was implemented through a purposive sampling technique, which requires certain criteria. The analytical methodology applied to identify the influence between variables was through t-tests and f-tests. The t-test for ROA and DER of 0.000 <0.05 indicates that these variables have an influence on Financial Distress individually. The sig. value of TATO of 0.127 > 0.05 indicates that it has no influence individually. The findings of the f-test showed a sig. value of 0.000 > 0.05, and the calculated F value with the F table was 13.931> 3.245. Thus, the three independent variables, namely ROA, TATO, and DER, have a significant effect simultaneously.

Abstract

The Floratama Academy program is an initiative aimed at enhancing the capacity of SMEs in the super-premium tourism area of Labuan Bajo, which faces challenges in competing with larger businesses. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the program on improving the managerial, business, and digital marketing skills of local SMEs. The research method used is a qualitative approach, with in-depth interviews conducted with program participants and organizers. The findings indicate that the Floratama Academy program successfully improved participants' skills in business management, digital marketing, and market access expansion. Several participants reported significant improvements in financial systems, product development, and business revenue growth. In conclusion, the program has a positive impact on the development of SMEs in Labuan Bajo; however, continued mentoring and supportive policies are needed to ensure the long-term sustainability of these positive effects.

Abstract

This study attempts to comparatively analyze the thoughts of two important figures in the discourse of modern Islamic thought, namely Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi and Nurcholis Madjid, who each offer alternative solutions to overcome the challenges of integration between Islam and science and the development of Islamic education. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical method based on literature study, this study finds that Al-Faruqi proposed the concept of the Islamization of science based on the principle of tauhid as an epistemological, methodological, and ontological basis. The Islamization program he formulated emphasized the importance of mastering modern science, exploring Islamic treasures, determining the relevance of Islamic values ​​in various disciplines, and synthesizing modern science and Islamic values. On the other hand, Nurcholis Madjid emphasized the importance of renewing Islamic education through a humanist, inclusive, egalitarian, and pluralist approach, which is in line with the spirit of Islam as rahmatan lil ‘ālamīn and the values ​​of Indonesianness. The comparison shows that Al-Faruqi placed greater emphasis on reconstructing the epistemology of science, while Madjid focused more on developing humanistic and contextual Muslim individuals. Both rejected the concept of value-free science and viewed Islam as the ethical foundation for the development of science and education.

Abstract

This study examines the social impact of implementing Full Day School learning. The purpose of this study is to describe the social impact of implementing Full Day School learning at Mts Swasta Ummi Lubuk Pakam. This study uses a qualitative approach. The research method applied is descriptive analytical using data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the implementation of the Full Day School system at MTs Swasta Ummi Lubuk Pakam has a complex social impact on students. On the one hand, this system has succeeded in improving social skills and character development. However, on the other hand, it can have negative impacts, namely fatigue and stress, reduced interaction with family, and decreased involvement in neighborhood activities. To overcome this, the school designs a comprehensive strategy by paying attention to the balance of academic and emotional needs of students. Providing sufficient rest time, building character and soft skills development programs, establishing cooperation with parents and the community, and humanistic counseling services are part of the holistic approach applied. Through this strategy, the school seeks to create a healthy, inclusive learning environment that supports the overall development of students.

Abstract

The development of the internet, such as the Shopee platform, has facilitated access to online shopping, which has led to consumptive behavior in everyday life. This study aims to determine the influence of gratitude and self-esteem on consumptive behavior in online shopping through the Shopee platform among young adults in Sidoarjo. Using a quantitative method with a causal approach, this study involved 270 young adult respondents aged 18-25 years who were selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using three instruments, including a gratitude scale (12 items; α = 0.823), a Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) (10 items; α = 0.764), and a consumptive behavior scale (22 items; α = 0.865), all of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression and Pearson's correlation using SPSS software. The results showed that the higher the level of gratitude and self-esteem possessed by individuals, the lower their consumptive behavior in online shopping. Thus, this study proves that there is a negative and significant influence between gratitude and self-esteem and consumptive behavior.

Abstract

The use of social media has become one of the main strategies for enhancing the competitiveness of tourism entrepreneurship in the digital era. Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube are not only used as promotional tools but also as media for interaction, branding, and innovation in tourism services. This study aims to analyze how tourism entrepreneurs utilize social media to expand market reach, build destination image, and strengthen their competitive advantage. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach based on a literature review of various previous studies. The results show that digital literacy, content creativity, and branding strategies through social media contribute significantly to increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of tourism entrepreneurship.

Abstract

The growing global trends of religious polarization, intolerance, and extremism have positioned education as a strategic arena for strengthening religious moderation. Indonesia, characterized by its plural Muslim society and long-standing tradition of Islamic wasathiyah, is frequently regarded as a significant reference in the implementation of religious moderation through education. However, existing studies largely emphasize normative and curricular dimensions, while managerial and governance aspects of Islamic education remain underexplored. This article aims to critically examine how religious moderation is integrated into the management functions of Islamic education and to propose a conceptual framework for moderate Islamic education management. Employing a qualitative approach through a systematic qualitative literature review, this study analyzes reputable academic publications and relevant policy documents. Data were examined using the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) framework as the primary analytical lens. The findings indicate that religious moderation can be operationalized as an integrated managerial principle embedded in policy planning, organizational structuring, program implementation, and evaluative mechanisms. This study contributes theoretically by positioning religious moderation as a managerial paradigm within Islamic education management and offers practical implications for developing inclusive, sustainable, and context-responsive governance of Islamic education in multicultural societies.

Abstract

Working students face academic and work demands simultaneously, making them vulnerable to stress and difficulties in managing it. Stress management psychoeducation is expected to help working students understand the concept of stress, coping strategies, and assertive communication as skills that support interpersonal stress management. This study aims to evaluate changes in the cognitive understanding of working students after participating in group-based stress management psychoeducation activities. The study used a one-group pretest–posttest design with six working students participating in a public speaking training community. The program was implemented through structured sessions using lectures, worksheets, case studies, focused group discussions, relaxation role plays, and priority setting exercises. Understanding was measured using a multiple-choice test with four alternative answers. The analysis results showed t = −7.05 with p = 0.001 (p < 0.05). This indicates that stress management psychoeducation has a significant effect on working students. The post-test mean (M=7.50) was greater than the pre-test mean (M = 5.33). These findings indicate that stress management psychoeducation was followed by an increase in working students' cognitive understanding of stress, coping, and assertive communication skills relevant to the context of dual roles.
