Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the mind mapping learning method on students’ ability to understand visual art theory among eighth-grade students at SMP Swasta Imelda Medan in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research used an experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The population in this study consisted of all eighth-grade students of SMP Swasta Imelda Medan, with two classes selected as samples: an experimental class and a control class. The data collection technique used a test to measure students’ understanding of visual art theory, which was administered before and after the treatment. Data analysis was conducted through normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of the use of the mind mapping method on students’ ability to understand visual art theory. The average posttest score in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. Thus, the mind mapping method has been proven to improve students’ ability to understand visual art theory concepts in a more structured and systematic manner.

Abstract

Communication study still has not looked at the connection between celebrity parasocial authority and the spread of viral products. When Thai K-pop star LALISA (Lalisa Manobal of BLACKPINK) officially sponsored Pop Mart's LABUBU collectibles in April 2024, sales throughout the world went up by 250% and sales in the U.S. went up by 1,200% year over year. This phenomena demonstrates how parasocial relationships may affect consumer behavior across geographic and demographic lines. This quick overview of the literature looks at how parasocial authority between celebrities and their fans leads to viral product adoption in online stores. We found peer-reviewed articles on parasocial interaction, celebrity credibility, viral marketing, and product adoption by searching Scopus, Web of Science, and Communication & Mass Media Complete. The findings were divided into groups based on processes and consequences and then put together in a story. The results show that parasocial authority may predict purchase intention and brand loyalty via social influence, aspirational identification, and trust-based persuasion. However, these effects are stronger when fandom intensity and cultural closeness are taken into account. The growth of K-pop has made intentional parasocial relationships even stronger. This shows that celebrity parasocial authority is a different way to persuade people than traditional endorsements. These results have important effects on how we understand influencer marketing and how people act in viral situations in digital culture. They show how parasocial ties may be used strategically to get people throughout the world to interact with products.

Abstract

Arabic plays an important role in Islamic education as it is the primary language of major religious sources such as the Qur’an, hadith, and classical Islamic literature. Therefore, the ability to translate Arabic texts is an essential competence for students in Islamic boarding schools to understand Islamic knowledge independently. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Arabic translation learning and examine students’ competencies in the Boarding School of MAN 2 Kota Bima. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques, while data analysis followed the model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Arabic translation learning in the boarding school is implemented through several complementary methods, namely the grammar–translation method, the direct method, the Tamyiz method, and the integration of digital learning media through the Quizizz platform. These approaches help students understand Arabic sentence structures, identify grammatical functions, and produce more accurate and contextual translations. In addition, the learning process contributes to the development of students’ character, learning creativity, and mastery of translation skills. Therefore, the combination of varied learning methods and the use of digital technology can effectively improve students’ Arabic translation competence.

Abstract

School branding strategies are a key factor in the competitive landscape of educational institutions, particularly in attracting prospective students. This study aims to examine the school branding strategies implemented by the Insan Madani Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Madiun to attract prospective students, identify the impact of these strategies, and determine the supporting factors and challenges in their implementation. This study employs a qualitative method using a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving various stakeholders, such as the foundation chairperson, the school principal, the student recruitment team, teachers, and parents. Research findings indicate that Insan Madani Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Madiun implements a school branding strategy through character development, academic achievement, tahsin and tahfizh programs, extracurricular activities, and the use of digital branding. The implementation of school branding has had an impact on several aspects, such as increased trust and loyalty among parents toward the school, an increase in student enrollment, the establishment of a positive image in the public’s mind, and enhanced institutional competitiveness. This serves as proof that the Insan Madani Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Madiun has successfully established itself as a top choice and the first choice for parents. Factors supporting the institution’s branding include educators or teachers, an Islamic-themed environment, the involvement of parents or guardians, and adequate facilities and infrastructure. However, the obstacles or challenges faced include the emergence of educational institutions with nearly identical branding and the need to meet the increasingly diverse needs of students. This study is expected to enrich the discussion on the management of effective school branding strategies so that schools can excel and remain relevant within the community.

Abstract

E-commerce is the use of electronic media platforms to sell products or services. It can be end-to-end, where customers can complete the entire purchasing process from product discovery, negotiation, to transaction without leaving the application. The purpose of this study was to determine whether sales promotions and hedonic browsing influence online impulsive buying behavior. The research method used was quantitative. Based on the sample determination conducted using the non-probability sampling method (purpose sampling technique), this study used 149 respondents in the city of Surabaya. The sample was determined based on the minimum sample formula, where the number of indicators is multiplied by a factor between 5 and 10, resulting in a minimum sample of 120. Data analysis used Partial Leave Square (PLS). The results showed that sales promotions did not have a significant effect on online impulsive buying behavior in Surabaya. This suggests that sales promotion efforts, such as discounts or special offers, may not have a significant impact on customers' online impulsive buying decisions. Hedonic browsing has a significant effect on online impulsive buying behavior in Surabaya. So this can provide valuable insights for e-commerce players to focus more on marketing efforts and hedonic shopping experiences to increase online impulse purchases from customers in Surabaya City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development patterns, implementation strategies, as well as structural and cultural challenges faced by Muhammadiyah Branch and Branch Leaders in Sukabumi Regency after the 48th Congress. As one of the largest districts in West Java, Sukabumi Regency presents complex geographical challenges for organizational consolidation. This study uses a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential model. Qualitative data was collected through in-depth interviews with leaders in 20 Muhammadiyah Branch Executives (PCM), while spatial analysis was used to map the organization's distribution to regional accessibility. The results of the study show that the pattern of organizational development is deterministic to the geographical location and proximity to Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah (AUM). Areas with established AUM show organic-progressive growth, while isolated areas rely on a defensive-relational model through a sono outreach strategy. Although the da'wah strategy has transformed towards philanthropy and academic collaboration, its effectiveness is still hampered by the crisis of ulama cadres, figure-centric management, and low digital literacy of senior management. This study concludes that strengthening the grassroots base requires a multidoor approach that integrates digital spatial mapping with locality-specific local economic empowerment. These findings contribute to a heterogeneous model of the development of religious organizations in rural areas to ensure the sustainability of an inclusive and enlightening tajdid movement.

Abstract

Changes in economic conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have created significant dynamics in the financial performance of various companies, including those in the pharmaceutical sector. This study aims to analyze the financial performance of PT Phapros Tbk during the 2020–2024 period and to examine differences in financial performance across the pandemic, transition, and post-pandemic phases. This research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data in the form of quarterly financial statements over five years (20 observations). The analytical methods applied include financial ratio analysis (liquidity, solvency, activity, and profitability ratios), trend analysis using the index number method, DuPont analysis to decompose Return on Equity (ROE), and difference testing using the Friedman Test due to non-normal data distribution based on the Shapiro–Wilk test. The results indicate that activity ratios (Inventory Turnover, Fixed Asset Turnover, and Total Asset Turnover), Quick ratio, and Net Profit Margin show significant differences across periods, while Current ratio, Cash ratio, Debt to Asset Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Return on Investment, and Return on Equity do not show significant differences. Overall, changes in PT Phapros Tbk’s financial performance during the research period are more evident in operational efficiency aspects than in capital structure, indicating that the impact of the pandemic and economic recovery affected certain financial indicators differently.

Abstract

The 2024 Legislative Election at the regional level demands that candidates possess communication strategies that are not only persuasive but also credible. This study aims to analyze the political communication strategies employed by Rayhan Muhammad Handoko from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in securing a seat in the Banyuasin Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) during the 2024 Election. The primary problem of this research focuses on the effectiveness of managing political messages amidst a critical electorate. Drawing upon the framework of Ariton-Gelan (2015), this study emphasizes that in argumentative and persuasive situations, a communicator bears a moral obligation to verify the validity of evidence and arguments before presenting them to the public. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, utilizing in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that Rayhan Muhammad Handoko’s success was driven by the implementation of a communication strategy based on validated data and measurable political promises, integrated through digital political branding and interpersonal door-to-door approaches. The synchronization between valid messaging and the actual needs of constituents became a determining factor in gaining voter trust. This research contributes to the development of political communication science, particularly regarding the importance of communication ethics and argumentative validity in winning local voter sympathy. This success proves that persuasive communication grounded in moral responsibility toward message content is a key determinant in modern political campaigning.

This study employs a qualitative method in which data were collected through field research. The research subjects consisted of Arabic language teachers at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putra 2. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation related to the learning process. Data analysis was conducted comprehensively to understand the interaction process between teachers and students as well as the method’s influence on the theoretical understanding and practice of the Arabic language. The research results indicate that the muhadatsah method at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putra 2 is implemented systematically through language activities, including: determining the muhadatsah theme, vocabulary (mufrodat) instruction, constructing sentences in Arabic, direct conversation practice, and intensive supervision by the Language Advisory Council (LAC). This program helps improve students’ speaking skills through the talaqqi or ilqo’iyyah method, daily communication practice, natural vocabulary enrichment, and the development of a positive mindset and self-confidence in Arabic. Furthermore, this program plays a crucial role in fostering a disciplined language environment through a strict monitoring system, the imposition of consequences, and the exemplary conduct of dormitory staff and teachers. Thus, the implementation of the muhadatsah method plays a significant role in improving speaking skills and establishing a strong Arabic communication culture at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putra 2.
