Abstract

Bipolar survivors often face extreme mood swings, where ODB (people with bipolar) will experience a mania phase characterized by increased energy and activity, and the opposite depressive phase, which causes decreased energy and the emergence of depressive symptoms. This condition is certainly a challenge for providers in carrying out daily activities. Self-acceptance is an important key for ODB to get through critical periods and kontrol emotional stability in order to achieve a more optimal quality of life. This study aims to explore the dynamics of the self-acceptance process in women with bipolar type 1 who have been diagnosed since 2013. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to explore more deeply the subject's experience related to the self-acceptance process. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with a housewife who has two children and has lived with bipolar for more than 10 years. Despite facing major challenges, the subject managed to empower herself. The results of the study showed that self-acceptance in bipolar disorder is a complex process. The results showed that the subject had gone through five stages of self-acceptance according to the Kübler-Ross & Kessler model, namely denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally acceptance. In addition, the results of the study showed that supporting factors in this process include support systems, both social and emotional support from the family, as well as psychotherapy assistance that helps subjects identify problems more objectively.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential of local Balinese cuisine as a tourist attraction at Tebing Tegallinggah Temple, Gianyar, Bali. This temple is a historical site that has great potential to be developed as a cultural-based tourism destination, but currently the use of local cuisine as a tourism element is still not optimal. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation with various parties, including visitors, local culinary business actors, and tourism stakeholders. The results of the study show that tourists have a high interest in traditional Balinese cuisine, but there are limitations in terms of facilities, promotion, and coordination between related parties. With the right strategy, such as improving infrastructure, training for business actors, and effective promotion, local cuisine can be integrated more deeply into the tourism experience at Tebing Tegallinggah Temple. This study concludes that the development of local cuisine will not only increase tourist attractions, but also support the preservation of culture and the economic welfare of the local community.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of the hospitality industry in supporting the development of heritage tourism at Candi Tebing Tegalinggah, Gianyar, Bali. The research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with hotel managers, hotel staff, heritage site managers, and tourists. Additionally, secondary data was obtained from documents, literature, and relevant reports. Data analysis was performed descriptively, focusing on identifying key themes from the discussions and interviews. The results indicate that the role of the hospitality industry in supporting heritage tourism at Candi Tebing Tegalinggah is still suboptimal. Despite the awareness of the heritage site's potential, hotels around the site have not fully leveraged this opportunity through integrated cultural tourism programs. Information about the site provided by hotels is also limited, reducing tourists' interest in visiting. Some hotels have demonstrated initiatives in supporting cultural preservation, but this involvement has not been formally coordinated. The study recommends enhancing collaboration between the hospitality sector and heritage site managers and developing more structured tourism programs to maximize the potential of Candi Tebing Tegalinggah as a sustainable heritage tourism destination.

Abstract

Tjap Toendjoengan Night Market in Surabaya is a cultural celebration that is not only a major highlight in the city but also a center of cultural, culinary and local economic activities. This research analyzes how the process of cultural commodification occurs in this night market, by considering the transformation of previous culinary practices into products that can be sold and commercialized. The method used is a systematic literature review with the help of the Perish or Publish application and the Google Scholar database using the keywords tjap toendjoengan night market and cultural commodification in 2014 - 2024 and obtained 12 relevant journals and news articles from 100 journals. The findings of this study show that while cultural commodification can provide economic benefits, it is also necessary to be aware of its potential negative impacts, such as a decline in original cultural values or damage to cultural integrity. Therefore, it is important for relevant parties, including night market managers and local governments, to take prudent measures in promoting and maintaining the sustainability of local culture without compromising the integrity of the actual culture. The Tjap Toendjoengan night market can thus serve as a good example for the preservation and sustainable utilization of local cultural heritage.

Abstract

When a husband loses his job and is unable to fulfill his role as a breadwinner, there is a phenomenon where the husband loses direction in the household and is not aware of other roles such as participating in domestic work or being involved in caregiving. One of the possible reasons is that it originates from the popularity of texts interpreting the role of husband and wife, such as in the interpretation of the Al-Quran, Surah al-Baqarah verse 233. In discussions regarding the role of husband and wife, for some contemporary scholars it is considered more appropriate to use the maqhasidi interpretation method. This interpretation method tries to interpret the verse and weigh it against the principles of maqashid sharia, where there is the main principle, that the laws conveyed in the Koran must have a maslahah goal. This research attempts to analyze the role of husband and wife from the perspective of maqhasidi. Research method is qualitative with analytical descriptive. The results of the research show that the use of the Maqhasidi interpretation perspective has different interpretation results from the textualist interpretation, where from the maslahah perspective, the roles of husband and wife are placed equally and mutually.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of centralized Solar Power Plant (PLTS) development policies in the coastal area of Bontang City as part of efforts to meet the increasing national energy demand. PLTS was chosen due to its renewable, environmentally friendly, and efficient nature, leveraging Indonesia's abundant solar radiation. Using a qualitative approach, the study reviews policy implementation based on the four main dimensions of George C. Edward III's theory: communication, resources, implementers’ disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The findings reveal that communication among policy implementers, the community, and stakeholders has been effective through various formal and informal channels, although challenges remain in disseminating information to remote coastal communities. In terms of resources, facilities and information related to the policy are deemed adequate, but there is a shortage of technical personnel and local operators, impacting policy execution. Additionally, limited government budgets pose a significant barrier to PLTS maintenance and operations. The disposition of implementers reflects strong commitment and responsibility, including the recruitment of local labor as operators, although heavy workloads and equipment theft issues hinder effectiveness. The bureaucratic structure, based on standard operating procedures (SOPs), has supported systematic coordination and policy implementation. Overall, the study concludes that the implementation of centralized PLTS development policies in the coastal area of Bontang City has been relatively effective. However, enhancements in human resources, increased budget allocation, and stricter supervision and facility protection are required. The study recommends closer collaboration among central and local governments, communities, and the private sector to ensure the sustainability of PLTS as an innovative and environmentally friendly energy solution for coastal areas.

Abstract

There is still little research on the application of Online Public Relations in ministries. This research describes the application of Online Public Relations in maintaining the image of various institutions. The research method uses a Literature Review from articles from 2014-2024 which were searched from 12 March-17 April 2024 using the Garuda Kemdikbud and Research Gate search engines. Of the 20 articles studied, 19 of them used the four basic elements of Online Public Relations according to Philip and Young (2009), namely Transparency, Internet Porosity, Internet as an Agent, and Richness in Content and Reach; and 4 articles link the application of Online Public Relations to Frank Jefkins' Image Theory, namely Shadow Image, Prevailing Image, Expected Image, Company Image, Compound Image, and Good and Bad Images. Furthermore, of the 20 articles studied, only 1 article discussed the application of Online Public Relations in maintaining the ministry's image. The research results reveal that the use of Online Public Relations is a contemporary way to maintain the image of the institution. This research is useful as a reference for the application of Online Public Relations in institutions, especially ministries amidst the lack of references on this matter.
