Abstract

This study aims to compare the ta'lil (causality) method used by two great scholars in the field of hadith, namely al-Daruqutni and al-Albani. The ta'lil method is an approach used to classify hadiths based on their strength or weakness. They both represent two different periods in the history of hadith, namely the ulama' mutaqaddimīn (early period) and the ulama' muta'akhirīn (modern period). This study uses a comparative approach by analyzing the written works of the two scholars. The results of the study show that these two 'ulama', despite coming from different eras, both have a deep concern for hadith. They also have their own methods in knowing the 'illat (defects) that exist in the hadith. Imam al-Dāruquṭnī's method in researching 'illat in a hadith is focused on research in the sanad or the narrators of the hadith. He also considers that the study of al-jarḥ wa al-ta'dīl (criticism and authentication of narrators) is also included in the study of the 'illat of hadith, so al-Dāruquṭnī often examines the hadith narrators from that perspective. Meanwhile, Shaykh al-Albānī has a more in-depth research method on the 'illat in the hadith. He is not only focused on the study of the 'illat of hadith in terms of the sanad and narrators, but his study also touches on the research of the matn (text) of the hadith. Therefore, it becomes reasonable that al-Dāruquṭnī is more lenient in determining the validity of a hadith, and al-Albānī is more strict in determining the validity of a hadith. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between teachers' interpersonal communication, work motivation, and teacher performance at SD Kartika XIX-6, a private school that faces different challenges compared to state schools. Teacher performance is an important factor in determining the quality of education, which is influenced by communication effectiveness and work motivation. Good communication between teachers plays an important role in building collaboration, supporting the exchange of ideas, and providing emotional support. This can increase teacher morale and motivation in facing teaching challenges. In addition, high work motivation, which is influenced by the support of colleagues and leaders, as well as the existence of both financial and non-financial incentives, directly contributes to increasing teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. This research uses a case study approach with descriptive quantitative methods, collecting data through direct interviews with teachers at SD Kartika XIX-6. The research results show that there is a significant positive relationship between effective communication, work motivation, and increased teacher performance. It is hoped that this study can contribute to the development of effective strategies to improve teacher performance, especially in private schools.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the low level of reading comprehension and critical thinking skills among elementary school students, particularly in the subject of Islamic Education (PAI). Many students can only string words together without understanding their meanings, which adversely affects their learning outcomes. This issue is exacerbated by the conventional teaching methods currently in use, making the learning experience less engaging and even boring for students. Therefore, there is a need for a learning approach that can enhance students' reading comprehension and critical thinking skills, one of which is the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model. This research aims to answer several questions: (1) How is the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition model in improving students' reading comprehension skills? (2) How does the implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) enhance students' critical thinking skills? (3) What challenges do teachers face in applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model? The research method employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observations, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study are Islamic Education teachers in the Leuwiliang district of Bogor Regency. The findings indicate that the application of the CIRC model effectively enhances students' reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. Students become more active in learning, capable of collaborating in groups, and show improved understanding of the material. However, some challenges, such as limited teaching media and the readiness of teachers to implement this model, present specific obstacles during its application.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the understanding and implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction in 24 elementary schools in Kecamatan Ciampea. The results show significant variations in PAI teachers' understanding and application of PjBL. Fifty percent of the teachers have successfully implemented PjBL consistently, thanks to strong support from school principals and adequate educational resources. These teachers have been able to design effective PjBL-based learning projects, allowing students to actively engage in learning and develop critical thinking and creativity. However, 30% of the teachers faced challenges in optimal implementation, particularly due to time constraints and insufficient resources. These teachers require further skill development to better integrate PjBL into daily learning processes. Meanwhile, 20% of the teachers demonstrated a minimal understanding of PjBL and require additional training. These findings highlight the importance of ongoing training, as well as institutional support and resource access, to enhance the effective application of PjBL. The study recommends that schools in Kecamatan Ciampea strengthen teacher training and provide more adequate resources to support the implementation of PjBL, aiming to improve the relevance and meaning of PAI learning.

Abstract

This study is motivated by challenges in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at the elementary school level, such as teachers' difficulty in connecting religious teachings to students' real-life situations, as well as limitations in media and infrastructure. Low student learning independence and a lack of creative thinking skills are also major focuses. The aim of this study is to explore the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to enhance students' creative thinking skills and learning independence in PAI learning at elementary schools in Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the application of CTL significantly improves students' creative thinking skills, such as the ability to think originally, flexibly, and fluently. CTL has also proven effective in enhancing learning independence, marked by increased student initiative in managing their own learning. Supporting factors include teacher creativity and technological support, while inhibiting factors involve the limitations of learning media and school facilities. This study provides theoretical contributions to the PAI learning model through CTL, as well as practical implications for teachers and stakeholders in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Discovery Learning model and its influence on teacher self-efficacy and the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in Kecamatan Leuwiliang, Bogor Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, involving 27 PAI teachers from 9 clusters as key informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies.The results show that 30% of the teachers have successfully implemented Discovery Learning, demonstrating high self-efficacy and improving learning quality by actively engaging students in the concept discovery process. However, 52% of teachers are aware of the model but do not implement it optimally, leading to varying self-efficacy and learning quality. The remaining 18% of teachers neither know about nor apply the model, continuing with conventional teaching methods, which yield unsatisfactory results.Challenges in implementing Discovery Learning include limited training, inadequate facilities, and insufficient time for lesson preparation. Nevertheless, teachers who received intensive training were able to overcome these obstacles, improving their self-confidence and learning quality. This study concludes that a good understanding and application of Discovery Learning positively impacts PAI teacher self-efficacy and learning quality. Therefore, more efforts are needed to enhance teacher training and mentoring to optimize the implementation of Discovery Learning across elementary schools in Kecamatan Leuwiliang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) strategy and creative thinking skills in the development of professional competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in Leuwiliang District. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in nine elementary schools in the region. The results of the study show that the implementation of TPS effectively increases student engagement during the learning process, supports the enhancement of teachers' professional competence, particularly in classroom management, and deepens understanding and mastery of teaching materials.In the context of education, Islam emphasizes the importance of knowledge, as mentioned in QS. Al-Mujadilah: 11: يَرْفَعِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَاتٍ"Allah will raise those who believe among you and those who have been given knowledge by degrees." However, the study also found several challenges in the implementation of this strategy, including limited school facilities and the lack of formal training received by teachers related to the application of TPS. This study provides recommendations for improving the quality of education in Leuwiliang District, emphasizing the importance of continuous training for teachers and improving educational facilities to ensure that innovative learning methods such as TPS can be applied more effectively.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of differentiated learning strategies in enhancing the literacy and numeracy skills of elementary school students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) within Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency. The research is motivated by the persistent issue of low literacy and numeracy skills among students in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. This challenge is especially pronounced in PAI subjects, which require proficiency in reading Arabic texts and grasping religious concepts. Differentiated learning was selected as a viable solution, as it can tailor teaching methods to the individual needs and abilities of students. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, collecting data through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and principals from several elementary schools in Leuwiliang District. The findings indicate that implementing differentiated learning strategies significantly enhances students' literacy and numeracy skills. Initially, only 30% of students demonstrated good literacy and numeracy abilities, but this figure rose to 60% in various school clusters following the implementation of these strategies. The study recommends further development of differentiated learning approaches, including training for teachers to improve their proficiency in applying this method. Additionally, integrating differentiated learning strategies into the PAI curriculum is crucial to ensure that learning remains adaptive and responsive to students' needs. In conclusion, differentiated learning strategies not only improve literacy and numeracy skills but also enrich the overall educational experience. This research aims to contribute to the advancement of more inclusive and quality education, particularly in elementary schools situated in rural areas.

Abstract

The research investigates the application of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to improve teacher performance at elementary schools. The study aims to evaluate how fulfilling physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs influences teacher motivation and performance. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, a survey was conducted among 99 elementary school teachers. Data analysis included correlation and regression methods to determine the relationship between the fulfillment of these needs and teacher performance. The results showed that physiological and safety needs had the most significant impact, contributing to a higher level of job performance. Teachers with their basic needs met were more focused on their professional responsibilities. Social and esteem needs also positively influenced performance, though to a lesser degree, indicating areas for improvement in workplace recognition and social dynamics. The findings suggest that enhancing basic and psychological needs is essential for sustained teacher performance improvement. The study contributes by highlighting practical applications of Maslow's theory in educational settings, though its focus on a single city may limit the generalizability of the results. Future research should expand to other regions for a broader understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the implementation of competence and motivation in efforts to improve the performance of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in elementary schools located in Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency. The focus of the research is on three main elements: competence, motivation, and teacher performance. Competence encompasses the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for teachers to carry out their duties professionally. Motivation is understood as the internal drive that influences teachers' behavior in their work, while teacher performance is evaluated based on their ability to manage learning, mastery of subject matter, and student assessment. Using a qualitative approach, this study reveals that the optimal application of competence and motivation positively impacts teacher performance, particularly in lesson planning and delivery. Factors such as the availability of facilities and challenges in technology comprehension also affect performance. The study recommends ongoing development programs to enhance pedagogical competence and technological skills among PAI teachers.
