Abstract

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of Islamic criminal law research within modern legal systems, using data exclusively from the Scopus database and analyzed with VOSviewer. The findings reveal that traditional principles such as hudud and qisas remain central to the discourse, while contemporary themes like human rights, criminal justice, and corruption are gaining prominence. The analysis highlights localized applications, particularly in regions like Aceh, Indonesia, where Sharia law is implemented within a pluralistic legal framework, showcasing both opportunities and challenges. Furthermore, the study underscores ongoing tensions between Islamic jurisprudence and international human rights norms, particularly regarding issues like the death penalty and gender equality. The co-occurrence and collaborative networks indicate an evolving academic landscape that seeks to harmonize traditional Islamic principles with the demands of modern governance and ethical frameworks. This study calls for future interdisciplinary research to address challenges and explore innovative applications of Islamic criminal law, particularly in restorative justice and governance, to ensure its relevance in addressing contemporary societal and legal issues.

Key findings reveal the centrality of themes such as halal certification, logistics, and supply chain management, highlighting their importance in operational and consumer trust frameworks. The analysis identifies Malaysia and Indonesia as leading contributors to halal research, with strong international collaborations. Emerging trends, including blockchain, sustainability, and halal tourism, signify the evolving focus of the halal industry toward technological integration and ethical practices. The study also highlights knowledge gaps, such as the underrepresentation of non-food sectors and limited exploration of regional dynamics outside Southeast Asia. By addressing these gaps, this study provides a foundation for advancing halal industry research and fostering global collaboration.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of digital zakat platforms and zakat education on muzakki compliance in fulfilling their zakat obligations. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 90 respondents through a structured questionnaire using a Likert scale (1–5). The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The findings reveal that both digital zakat and zakat education significantly and positively influence compliance, with zakat education exhibiting a stronger impact. Digital zakat enhances accessibility, transparency, and convenience, while zakat education fosters awareness and understanding of zakat's religious and social significance. The study highlights the importance of integrating technology and education to optimize zakat management. These results provide valuable insights for policymakers, zakat institutions, and digital platform developers to enhance compliance and maximize zakat's societal benefits.

Abstract

Socio-religious conflicts in Indonesia pose significant challenges to social harmony in its diverse communities. This study explores the critical role of ulama (Islamic scholars) in mitigating such conflicts through qualitative analysis involving four prominent ulama. Data were collected via in-depth interviews and analyzed using NVIVO software to identify key themes and strategies. The findings reveal that ulama play a pivotal role in promoting peace and tolerance through preventive religious teachings, mediation in disputes, community engagement, and counter-radicalization efforts. Despite facing challenges such as resistance from radical groups and limited resources, their contributions are instrumental in fostering socio-religious harmony. The study emphasizes the need for institutional support and collaborative efforts to amplify the impact of ulama in conflict resolution. These insights offer valuable implications for policymakers and stakeholders working toward sustainable peace in multicultural societies.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of Information Technology (IT) in optimizing Zakat management in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country. Employing a mixed-methods approach, qualitative insights from in-depth interviews and quantitative data from surveys were integrated to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of IT integration, challenges faced, perceived benefits, and its impact on Zakat distribution processes. The findings reveal a spectrum of IT adoption among Zakat organizations, with cybersecurity concerns, resistance to change, and resource constraints identified as persistent challenges. Perceived benefits include enhanced transparency, streamlined distribution processes, and improved communication with beneficiaries. Statistical analysis supports a positive correlation between IT integration levels and perceived improvements in distribution fairness and effectiveness. The implications and recommendations drawn from these integrated insights guide stakeholders in optimizing Zakat administration through effective and secure IT adoption, aligning with principles of transparency, efficiency, and equitable distribution.

Abstract

This research discusses the right to work for wives and its implementation of the formation of the sakinah family in the perspective of contemporary interpretation. With the development of the times, many women work in the public sector to help the family economy. However, this phenomenon has various impacts, both positive and negative, on household life. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, referring to contemporary interpretations such as Tafsir Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab. The results of the study show that Islam does not prohibit women from working, as long as they continue to fulfill their responsibilities in the family and maintain religious and moral values.

Abstract

The Qur'an is a guideline for Muslims that contains various laws and teachings that must be understood through interpretation. One of the important concepts in the science of tafsir is Nasakh-Mansukh, which is the abolition or change of laws in certain verses. This study examines how Imam Al-Qurthubi interprets the verses of war and peace in the context of Nasakh-Mansukh. Using qualitative methods, based on historical-sociological analysis, as well as thematic and hermeneutic approaches, this study found that Imam al-Qurthubi affirmed that the message of peace in the Qur'an remains relevant despite the verses that discuss war. He does not necessarily consider the verse of war to remove the verse of peace, but understands the two types of verse in the context of different applications. The results of this study are expected to provide new insights in understanding the relationship between war and peace verses and their interpretation implications in contemporary life.

Abstract

This study examines the synergy between the National Sharia Board (Dewan Syariah Nasional, DSN) and the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, OJK) in developing sharia financial regulations in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study focuses on data obtained from semi-structured interviews with three informants, comprising a DSN representative, an OJK official, and a sharia finance expert. Key findings reveal the importance of collaborative decision-making, role clarity, structured communication mechanisms, and capacity building in ensuring effective regulation. However, challenges such as delays in policy integration and difficulties in addressing financial technology innovations persist. This research highlights the critical role of synergy between religious and regulatory institutions in fostering the growth of the sharia finance sector, positioning Indonesia as a global leader in Islamic finance.
