Abstract

This study aims to dissect women's sexuality in the book Fathu Al-Izar fi Kasyfi Al-Asrar Al-Awqar Al-Hartsi wa Khilqah Al-Abkar using the literature review method. The lack of Islamic sex education literature makes this book the foremost book studied in the traditional Islamic boarding school. There are several dimensions of female sexuality in each section of the discussion. But in general it centers on the last section of the discussion, "Bayan Asrar Khilqah Al-Abkar" (virgin secret explanation). This book generally uses a physiognomic science approach to explain the biological dimensions of female sexuality regarding vaginal anatomy and the high and low levels of female sexual desire.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang ketegangan antar umat beragama menggunakan analisis konflik sosial dan triangle conflict pada kasus pembubaran doa Rosario di Cisauk Tanggerang Selatan. Teori yang digunakan dalam menganalisis kejadian ini menggunakan teori konflik sosial Karl Max, Max Weber dan Ralf Dahrendorf. Selain itu teori tersebut dikolaborasikan dengan teori segitiga konflik Johan Gulting. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan model analisis isi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Analisis menggunakan teori segitiga konflik Galtung mengungkapkan interaksi kompleks antara mahasiswa UNPAM, warga setempat, dan otoritas kepolisian serta pemerintah daerah. Konflik horizontal antara mahasiswa dan warga setempat terjadi akibat perbedaan nilai dan kepentingan, sementara konflik vertikal muncul antara mahasiswa dan tokoh lokal seperti Ketua RT yang mencoba mempertahankan otoritasnya. Penyelesaian konflik melalui penegakan hukum, evaluasi terhadap kepala RT dan RW, serta dialog antarpihak menjadi kunci untuk mencegah konflik serupa dan memastikan tercapainya perdamaian dan keadilan di masa depan

Abstract

Learning to memorize the Qur'an has an important role in Islamic education, especially in forming a generation that has a close relationship with the holy book as a religious guide. Learning modules that are structured and accompanied by appropriate interpretation methodologies can increase students' understanding and motivation in memorizing the Qur'an. Ar Rafi' Drajat Elementary School has implemented the Tahfizh Al-Fath module which involves a concise explanation of the verses. Tafsir Alqur'an methodology is a systematic procedure followed in an effort to understand and explain the meaning of Alqur'an content and is the most important component in interpreting Alqur'an. In the interpretation of the Qur'an, there are 4 kinds of methods that have developed , namely tahlili, ijmaly, muqarran, and maudhu'i. Each of these methods has its own criteria. This study aims to determine the Tahfizh Al-Fath method in tahfizh learning at Ar Rafi' Drajat Elementary School and to determine the methodology of interpreting Alqur'an in the Tahfizh Al Fath learning module at Ar Rafi' Drajat Elementary School. This research uses a mixed method approach between literature study and field study with descriptive qualitative analysis using discourse analysis techniques. This study found that the stages of Tahfidz Al-Fath at Arrafi' Drajat Elementary School include listening, understanding, memorizing, practicing, and preaching the verses of the Qur'an, as well as purifying themselves through continuous understanding and practice. The Tahfidz Al-Fath module itself uses interpretation methodology with ijmaly style and has bil ma'tsur interpretation sources.

Abstract

This research examines sexual exploitation in the perspective of the Qur'an which is explored through the analysis of Ashghar Ali Engineer's theology of women's liberation. The research method used in this study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach and content analysis techniques. QS. An-Nur/24: 33 contains principles that protect individual rights, justice, human equality, privacy rights, social welfare and respect for the dignity of women. This verse emphasizes that every human being is only a slave to Allah and not a slave to other humans and humans will be held accountable for the crimes they commit sexually to others. From the aspect of rejection of the status quo, this verse encourages Muslim communities to oppose the normalization of the weakening of women in a society or system that perpetuates cases of sexual exploitation in various lines such as political, legal, social, economic, or cultural. On the aspect of using social theology methods that are rational, realistic, and based on Islamic values, the implementation of justice for victims of sexual exploitation can only be achieved by considering the five biological experiences and five social experiences faced by women. Victims of sexual exploitation must be ensured to recover both physically and mentally. This recovery must be supported from various aspects of health, social and legal policy. The value of QS. An-Nur/24: 33 regarding the release of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH against Musaikah and Umaimah and the fight against sexual exploitation can be an inspiration for the revitalization of the process of liberating sexual exploitation cases based on Islamic history. The novelty of this research focuses on contemporary issues regarding sexual exploitation as an embodiment of the theological nature of the praxis of Asghar Ali Engineer's women's liberation theology that has not been done by previous researchers.

Abstract

Isu kesetaraan gender dalam komunitas religius fundamentalis sering kali terkait dengan upaya mempertahankan nilai tradisional di tengah perubahan sosial. Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) adalah contoh di mana gerakan sosial ini mengokohkan patriarki dan membentuk ulang peran gender, dengan membatasi otonomi perempuan melalui narasi keagamaan. Dokumenter Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey menggambarkan bagaimana komunitas FLDS mengendalikan identitas perempuan dengan ajaran ketaatan dan subordinasi, menciptakan struktur sosial yang memperkuat agenda konservatif mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis relasi gender dalam ideologi Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) menggunakan teori R.W. Connell sebagaimana disajikan dalam film dokumenter Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan analisis wacana, sementara jenis studi yang diterapkan adalah studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa maskulinitas hegemonik dalam FLDS menciptakan struktur kekuasaan yang memperkuat dominasi laki-laki, memosisikan perempuan dalam subordinasi mutlak. Maskulinitas subordinat dan marginal dalam komunitas ini memperkuat kekuasaan maskulinitas hegemonik dengan mengamankan posisi pria senior, sementara konsep maskulinitas kompilasi memungkinkan laki-laki yang tidak mendominasi sepenuhnya tetap mendapatkan keuntungan sosial. Di sisi lain, norma gender yang ketat menetapkan peran perempuan sebagai istri patuh dan ibu, memperkuat hierarki patriarki dan mengukuhkan posisi subordinat perempuan dalam komunitas FLDS. Pendekatan interseksional dalam penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa perempuan di komunitas ini mengalami bentuk penindasan yang berlapis melalui kombinasi identitas gender, agama, dan status sosial. The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) is an example of a social movement that reinforces patriarchy and reshapes gender roles by limiting women's autonomy through religious narratives. The documentary Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey illustrates how FLDS communities control women's identities with teachings ofobedience and subordination, creating social structures that reinforce their conservative agenda. This research aims to analyze gender relations in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) ideology using R.W. Connell's theory as presented in the documentary Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a discourse analysis approach, while the type of study applied is a literature study.  The results show that hegemonic masculinity in the FLDS creates a power structure that reinforces male dominance, positioning women in absolute subordination. Subordinate and marginal masculinities in this community reinforce the power of hegemonic masculinity by securing the position of senior men, while the concept of compositional masculinity allows men who do not fully dominate to still gain social advantages. On the other hand, strict gender norms stipulate women's roles as obedient wives and mothers, reinforcing patriarchal hierarchies and entrenching women's subordinate positions in FLDS communities. The intersectional approach in this study also shows that women in this community experience multiple forms of oppression through a combination of gender identity, religion and social status. Abstract

This research discusses the emancipatory interpretation by Aisha bint Abu Bakar of Qur'anic verses relating to women and orphans. The pre-Islamic period is described as a dark time for women and orphans, where they were part of a marginalised group with low social status and limited access to economic opportunities. The analysis in this study is descriptive-analytical by emphasising Aisyah's interpretation of Qur'anic verses related to women and orphans issues. The approach used is a social and historical approach to understand the context and impact of these interpretations. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with content analysis type. The results showed that Aisha bint Abu Bakar made a major contribution in the interpretation of verses about women and orphans with an emancipatory nature, namely liberation from oppression and dependence. Her interpretation of the verses shows special attention to social issues and the rights of women and orphans, as reflected in QS. Al-Baqarah: 220, 222; An-Nisa: 3, 6, 127, 128; Al-Maidah: 6; and Al-Mujadilah: 1. The overall source of interpretation used by Aisyah is bil ma'tsur.

Abstract

Tafsir As-Sa'dy di masyarakat menempati posisi sebagai rujukan penting bagi kalangan yang mengutamakan penerapan syariat secara ketat, tetapi juga menuai kritik karena potensinya memicu sikap eksklusif terhadap hukum non-syariat. Penafsirannya dalam QS.An-Nisa:60 tentang taghut sebagai hukum yang tidak bersumber dari syariat berpotensi memicu resistensi terhadap hukum positif di negara Muslim, yang dapat dieksploitasi oleh kelompok radikal untuk menolak pemerintahan dan menciptakan polarisasi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkritisi seluk beluk penafsiran Abdurrahman As-Sa'dy tentang taghut dalam QS An-Nisa:60 menggunakan pendekatan langkah-langkah kritik tafsir yaitu dimensi historisme, operasional metodologis, kecenderungan, motif, kecenderungan, data dan evaluasi tafsir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan dan jenis analisis isi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Abdurrahman As-Sa’dy membuat tafsir dengan motif mempermudah Masyarakat dalam mengkaji Al-Qur’an. Dalam memaknai taghut sebagai segala bentuk hukum atau aturan yang tidak bersumber dari syariat Allah menggunakan sumber penafsiran bi al-ra’yi, metode ijmaly dan corak teologis. Penafsiran As-Sa’dy dipengaruhi oleh konteks sejarah dan sosial saat hidupnya, terutama pada masa transisi Arab Saudi menjadi kerajaan di bawah Raja Abdul Aziz bin Saud. Konteks ini memberikan latar belakang sosial-politik yang turut membentuk pandangannya tentang perlunya kembali kepada syariat sebagai sumber hukum. Meskipun As-Sa’dy tidak selalu mencantumkan asbabun nuzul dalam tafsirnya, penekanannya pada penerapan syariat mencerminkan respons terhadap tantangan modernitas dan sekularisasi hukum di negara-negara Muslim. As-Sa’dy memiliki kecenderungan ideologis yang jelas sebagai seorang penganut manhaj Salafi. Hal ini tampak dalam pendekatannya terhadap penafsiran yang mengedepankan pemurnian ajaran Islam, fokus pada tauhid, dan penolakan terhadap inovasi agama (bid'ah). Abstract

This research reveals the causes and religious experiences of poor single mothers leaving the church in the book "Living Faith: Everyday Religion and Mothers in Poverty" by Susan Crawford Sullivan through economic, psychological, gender and theological approaches. The type of method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with content analysis techniques and library research. The results of this study show that from the resource approach, it was found that the reasons why poor single mothers left the church were limited time resources and financial resources. From the aspect of women's social experience, various problems of discrimination and stigmatization of single mothers and poverty caused these poor single mothers to leave the church. Using the theory of self-acceptance, the poor single mothers assessed that they were poor and did not have the appropriate morals so they felt inappropriate to enter the church.  Through a theological approach, poor mothers experience a transition from institutional religion to individual religion (religious individualism) as a manifestation of religiosity in a new form.

Abstract

This research reveals Sigmund Freud's theories and views on religion in Daniel L.Pals‘ Nine Theories of Religion and analyses them using Emil Durkheim and William James’ functionalism theories. The type of method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with content analysis techniques and library research. The results of this study show that Freud identified an internal conflict between the id, ego, and superego similar to Durkheim's concept of social institutions that balance individual needs with social norms, seeing religion as a mechanism to strengthen social cohesion. James emphasised adaptation and individual psychological functioning, helping to understand Freud's analysis of personality conflict and the Oedipus complex as an attempt at individual adaptation to the social environment. Although Freud saw religion as a collective neurosis and illusion, from Durkheim's perspective, religion plays an important role in strengthening social solidarity, and from James' perspective, religion provides significant meaning and moral strength for individuals, helping them to face life's challenges and adapt to their social environment. Thus, religion serves as a mechanism for maintaining psychological and social stability, providing meaning and structure for individuals in a complex society.

Abstract

In 2021 the divorce rate jumped to 447,743 cases due to various variants of factors, one of which was unhealthy polygamy. This study discusses the Al-Qurthuby's istinbath method in interpreting the polygamy verse to examine the ways and methods used by Al-Qurthuby to conclude the law of polygamy and interpret polygamy justice. The method used in this study uses descriptive qualitative methods with content analysis techniques. This study found that the Al-Qurthuby method in concluding the law on the interpretation of the polygamy verse used the istinbath lafdzy method in intepret amr (order) word. Like other classical Qur’anic intrepetators, Al-Qurthuby focuses on the limitation of marrying more than four wives than desciribes pologamy’s functions and he concludes that polygamy is legal on conditions that are fair.
