Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of community-based management of Sentono Genthong Tourism, which has positively contributed to the transformation of the village from underdeveloped to advanced status, as well as creating employment opportunities in the tourism sector. However, there are emerging dynamics, such as dating activities within the religious tourism area, which raise concerns due to their contradiction with the principle of protecting lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl) in maqāṣid sharī‘ah. This study is field research using a qualitative approach conducted at Sentono Genthong Tourism in 2023. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and validated using source, method, and time triangulation. The data analysis was conducted inductively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that, in general, tourism management has fulfilled the principles of community-based tourism, although there are still shortcomings in the aspect of cross-cultural learning. Seven out of eleven principles of community-based tourism are closely aligned with maqāṣid sharī‘ah, particularly in the elements of protecting religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), intellect (ḥifẓ al-ʿaql), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), and wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl). However, the aspect of protecting lineage has not been optimally achieved. In conclusion, while tourism management has been effective and aligns with Sharia principles in several elements, there is a need to strengthen social supervision and visitor education to uphold religious values in this sacred tourism site.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of halal labels, product quality, and price on sales volume in small culinary industries in Ponorogo, considering digital marketing as a moderating variable. The research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. Primary data was obtained from 100 respondents selected using probability sampling with stratified random sampling based on Slovin's formula. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, and data analysis involved validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, T-tests, F-tests, coefficient of determination (R²), and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) using SPSS 16. The results show that the halal label significantly influences sales volume by 23.9%, product quality has an insignificant influence of 11.2%, and price has a significant influence of 22.5%. Simultaneously, the three variables influence sales volume by 27.9%. Digital marketing is proven to moderate the relationship, strengthening the effect of the halal label by 43.6%, weakening the effect of product quality by 43%, and strengthening the impact of price by 44.7%. Simultaneously, digital marketing influences sales volume by 57.2%. Thus, digital marketing effectively enhances the influence of halal labels and prices on sales volume in Ponorogo’s small culinary industries.

Abstract

This study aims to explore public behavior in utilizing social media as a source of information and knowledge about halal, as well as to examine the role of social media as an agent of socialization in fostering halal awareness within society. This is a field research employing a qualitative approach through netnographic study—an interpretive method used to understand consumer behavior within virtual communities or cyberspace. The objects of study and data sources are the virtual community accounts @halalcorner and @halal.indonesia, which were observed to examine the process of transferring halal-related information and knowledge. Data were collected through digital observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with account administrators and followers. The data analysis technique used was thematic analysis. The findings indicate that social media plays a significant role as an agent of halal socialization and contributes to shaping public awareness of halal, while also encouraging an increase in the number of MSMEs obtaining halal certification. Supporting factors for account optimization include sufficient literacy among managing teams and cross-sector collaborations. Inhibiting factors involve limited knowledge among MSMEs about halal certification, internet access issues, Instagram tool limitations, and inadequate human resources. The impacts observed include economic, social, and networking aspects.

Abstract

The phenomenon of virtual waqf pledges carried out by the Waqf Pledge Deed Making Officer (PPAIW) of Jetis District, Ponorogo Regency, emerged amid a vacuum of formal regulations regarding virtual waqf, both in the Waqf Law, Government Regulations, and Indonesian Waqf Board policies. The urgency of this research lies in the differences in views among PPAIW regarding the validity and legality of virtual waqf pledges, which reflect the dynamics of Islamic legal thinking in the context of waqf digitalization. With a qualitative approach, this field research aims to explore the views of PPAIW in Ponorogo Regency regarding the virtual waqf pledge and analyze their thought patterns in responding to this phenomenon. Research data was obtained from informants from PPAIW Ponorogo. Data collection techniques were done through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using Mahsun Fuad's typological theory of Islamic legal thought, dividing the thought spectrum into participatory and emancipatory reasoning. The results of the research show that there are three typologies of PPAIW thinking regarding the virtual waqf pledge, namely: critical-responsive madzhabi reconstruction, emancipatory responsive-sympathetic interpretive reconstruction, and emancipatory responsive-sympathetic madzhabi reconstruction. This conclusion confirms the diversity of thought responses at the local level towards waqf practices in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing number of early-age divorce cases, which has resulted in many young women becoming underage widows—girls under 19 years old who have already experienced marriage and divorce, and most of whom already have children. This study is a field research using a case study approach. The data were collected from primary sources such as underage widows, their parents, and representatives from the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (P3A) and secondary sources, including documents, legislation, and relevant literature. The research was conducted in the Ponorogo, Madiun, and Nganjuk Regencies, with the implementation adjusted to the availability and conditions of the informants. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data presentation, and continuous drawing of conclusions throughout the research process. The findings show that some underage widows can utilize their livelihood assets to implement consolidation, active, and passive strategies, while others can only survive using basic survival strategies. Most choose to work and pursue education through the Package C program. Although these young widows can endure, they still face significant challenges, and some eventually decide to remarry as a way out of life’s pressures. Underage widows adopt survival strategies rationally, based on their conditions and available resources—by working, continuing education, or remarrying—as a way to cope with pressure and build a future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of training, Islamic organizational culture, and compensation on employee performance with work motivation as an intervening variable at PT. Daya Surya Sejahtera Ponorogo. The research employs a quantitative approach to examine the relationships among variables empirically. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires involving 156 respondents, and analyzed using simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, and path analysis. The results show that the research findings indicate that: (1) training has no significant effect on employee performance (Sig. = 0.209); (2) Islamic organizational culture also has no significant effect on performance (Sig. = 0.454); and (3) compensation has a significant effect on employee performance (Sig. = 0.035). Furthermore, (4) training has a positive and significant effect on work motivation (Sig. = 0.000); (5) Islamic organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on work motivation (Sig. = 0.000); and (6) compensation also has a positive and significant effect on work motivation (Sig. = 0.000). In addition, (7) work motivation significantly affects employee performance (Sig. = 0.000). Path analysis results show that (8) training, (9) Islamic organizational culture, and (10) compensation have a significant effect on employee performance through work motivation as an intervening variable. Specifically, the direct effect of Islamic organizational culture on performance is not significant (Sig. = 0.128), but the indirect effect through motivation as a mediator is significant (Sig. = 0.000). The total effect of compensation on employee performance is 0.744, with the most significant contribution coming from the indirect effect through work motivation, amounting to 0.489. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that work motivation is a crucial mediating factor that strengthens the influence of training, Islamic organizational culture, and compensation on improving employee performance at PT. Daya Surya Sejahtera.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by Bankziska Lazismu in building volunteer loyalty, to identify the underlying factors behind these strategies, and to examine their impact on volunteer commitment. This phenomenon is noteworthy as it reveals a group of individuals willing to contribute without financial compensation yet remain highly motivated and dedicated to their service. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with managers, staff, and volunteers of Bankziska Lazismu and through documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted inductively to identify strategic patterns that emerged empirically in the field. The findings indicate that Bankziska Lazismu applies welfare-based and engagement-oriented strategies to enhance volunteer loyalty. This is reflected in providing incentives, welfare programs, gifts, and various forms of appreciation. Furthermore, the organization strengthens loyalty through intensive communication, volunteer involvement in institutional activities, and capacity-building training programs. However, the implementation of some strategies remains suboptimal, such as family gatherings, continuous training, and the provision of supporting facilities. Therefore, optimizing the implementation of these strategies is necessary to strengthen volunteer loyalty more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This study examines the pattern of children’s religious choice in interfaith families in Klepu Village, Sooko District, Ponorogo Regency. The phenomenon of interfaith marriage often raises issues of religious identity among children, especially when they reach adulthood and begin to determine their own beliefs. This research aims to analyze the emerging patterns of children’s religious selection and to explore the implications of these choices for their personal, social, and legal lives. The study employs a qualitative method with Edmund Husserl’s phenomenological approach to understand the subjective experiences of children within social and religious contexts. Primary data were obtained through interviews and observations with children from interfaith marriages, while secondary data were drawn from documents and supporting literature. The findings reveal three main patterns of religious choice among children: environmental factors influenced by peer groups; paternal factors characterized by authoritarian discipline; and maternal factors emphasizing affection, moral teaching, and religious exemplarity. These patterns have implications for children’s religious identity formation, social stability, and legal rights within the societal system. This type of research is field research. To answer the questions in this study, the author uses a phenomenological approach to understand the subjective experience of individuals in facing a phenomenon by Edmund Husserl. This thesis uses a qualitative method, while in collecting primary data the author conducted observations and interviews. While the author obtained secondary data from various other sources to complete the research needs. This research was conducted in Klepu Village, Sooko District, Ponorogo Regency, which was determined using a random technique. This study suggests that three patterns of religious selection were found, namely, first, Environmental Factors which are motivated by the invitation of friends around them. Second, Father factors which are motivated by the invitation of the father who is authoritarian and disciplines his child to worship according to his father's religion. And third, Mother factors which are motivated by the mother being a source of survival for children as well as a moral teacher and role model for her children. The implications related to the pattern of children's religious selection can be seen from the child's side, social level, and legal rights that must be borne by children from interfaith marriages.

Abstract

This study is motivated by legal issues regarding the provision of iddah maintenance for a wife who is considered nusyuz in divorce cases at the Religious Court of Ponorogo. This study aims to analyze the judges’ ratio decidendi in determining iddah maintenance for a nusyuz wife and to examine its relevance to the theory of dhariah in Islamic law. The qualitative research employs a normative juridical method using a statutory and case law approach. Data were obtained through interviews with judges handling similar cases and documentation such as court decisions and relevant Supreme Court Circular Letters (SEMA). The data were analyzed descriptively and analytically by exploring the judges’ legal and moral considerations in making decisions. The results show that the judges’ ratio decidendi in granting iddah maintenance is based on the absence of clear evidence of nusyuz, thereby affirming the wife’s right to maintenance based on principles of justice and protection of women. Conversely, when nusyuz is proven, judges may deny iddah maintenance by applying sadd al-dhariah to prevent social harm. The relevance of dhariah theory in these decisions emphasizes the importance of balancing public benefit (maslahah) and substantive justice. Thus, judges’ decisions toward maslahah can be essential to strengthen gender justice in Islamic family law.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to enhance public literacy in the use of Islamic investment applications to prevent fraud and minimize losses in stock trading. Along with global technology advancement, trading activities have become more effective and efficient, requiring individuals to be financially literate in managing their assets. One productive financial management strategy is investment in the Islamic capital market, which allows funds to grow without violating Sharia principles such as gharar and maisir. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method by analyzing time series data over six months, from January to June 2025. The data were analyzed using three technical indicators: Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), Relative Strength Index (RSI), and Stochastic Oscillator (SO), to determine bullish and bearish positions in stock trading. The findings indicate that using a single technical indicator is ineffective in providing accurate buy and sell signals. In contrast, combining all three indicators proves to be more effective in improving the accuracy of technical analysis and supporting investment decisions that comply with Sharia principles. This research is expected to serve as a reference for novice investors to understand the importance of financial literacy and the application of technical analysis in Islamic stock investments.
