Abstract

his study aims to analyze parents' perceptions of inclusive education for children with special needs (CSN) and the factors influencing their decision to choose inclusive schools. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with parents of CSN in Pancur Batu District. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques to identify key emerging patterns. The findings indicate that parents' perceptions of inclusive education vary. Some parents support inclusive education due to its benefits in enhancing children's social interactions and independence. However, others express concerns regarding school readiness, the limited availability of trained educators, and the social stigma surrounding CSN. Economic factors and personal experiences also play a role in parents' decision-making when selecting a school for their children. Therefore, comprehensive policies are needed to support inclusive education, including enhanced training for educators, improved facilities, and broader public awareness campaigns. Strengthening collaboration among the government, schools, and communities is also essential to creating a more inclusive learning environment that optimally supports the development of CSN.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the role of multiliteracies-based pedagogy in enhancing students' speaking skills in the context of 21st-century education. The study is driven by the increasing demands of communication across digital media and global settings, which require students to possess adaptive, multimodal, and context-aware speaking competencies. Employing a qualitative descriptive literature review method, this research synthesizes findings from 26 relevant national and international scholarly articles that explore the intersection of speaking skills and multiliteracy approaches. The analysis reveals that multiliteracy strategies—such as digital storytelling, telecollaboration, podcasting, digital comics, and virtual reality—significantly improve students' verbal fluency, confidence, and expressiveness in diverse learning environments. These approaches also benefit students with special educational needs and foster inclusive, culturally responsive communication practices. However, the implementation of multiliteracies in classrooms is still challenged by limited digital infrastructure, insufficient teacher training in media-integrated instructional design, and unequal access to educational technology. In light of these challenges, this study recommends systemic support through teacher professional development, broader access to digital learning tools, and curriculum reform that accommodates flexible, learner-centered, and media-rich instructional models. The integration of multiliteracies into mainstream education is expected to cultivate a generation of learners who are capable of speaking effectively, critically, and creatively across platforms and in various global contexts.

Abstract

Public doubts about formal financial institutions are largely due to the perception that bank interest is synonymous with usury. This perception is often not accompanied by a complete understanding of the difference between interest and profit-sharing schemes in banking. Therefore, this study aims to examine the perceptions of Islamic scholars in Parepare City towards bank interest; educational strategies implemented by Islamic scholars in increasing Islamic financial literacy for the community in Parepare City; and the relevance of the level of bank interest literacy to the level of Islamic financial inclusion in the community in Parepare City. The research method used is qualitative. Primary data sources were obtained from interviews with Islamic scholars, academics, and the community of Parepare City, and secondary data were obtained from relevant literature references. Data analysis was carried out in a systematic process of data collection and summarization starting from interviews, field notes, and documents, dividing data into categories, breaking it down into units, synthesizing it, calculating it into patterns, and extracting important or complex information. The results of the study indicate that educational strategies in increasing Islamic financial literacy in Parepare City need to be directed at a contextual, applicable, and collaborative approach. Strengthening the role of Islamic scholars through training, digital da'wah, and synergy with academics and Islamic financial institutions is key to increasing public literacy regarding the Islamic financial system.

Abstract

This research examines the abstinence and prohibition system of the Kajang community in South Sulawesi, analyzing its form, meaning, cultural value, and role in maintaining social order and cultural identity. Descriptive qualitative method with ethnographic approach was used through literature study and observation to understand the resilience of customary rules in the midst of modernization. The results show that customary taboos cover aspects of life such as dress code, social interaction, natural resource management, and rituals, with philosophical values of simplicity, equality, obedience, and natural harmony. The Ammatoa's central role as customary leader is key to maintaining the continuity of this value system through norm enforcement and intergenerational transmission. In conclusion, the customary abstinence system functions as an effective instrument of social regulation, as well as a protector of cultural identity. This research confirms the importance of local wisdom in shaping sustainable communities with strong identities amidst global changes. The findings provide a perspective on the relevance of tradition preservation as a foundation of cultural resilience.

Abstract

This article examines the relevance of the Profit-and-Loss Sharing (PLS) principle in modern Islamic economics in response to global financial challenges and digital transformation. Employing a systematic literature review (SLR) method, the study analyzes 30 academic sources to explore: (1) the theological and ethical foundations of PLS, (2) barriers to its implementation in Islamic financial institutions, and (3) opportunities for integrating PLS with emerging technologies such as fintech and blockchain. The findings indicate that while normatively PLS promotes equitable risk-sharing and transparency, practical constraints include moral hazard, information asymmetry, and weak regulatory infrastructure. The adoption of digital finance offers potential solutions via smart contracts and Shariah-compliant platforms, contingent upon supportive and adaptive policy frameworks. This article develops a conceptual framework linking normative Islamic values with digital financial innovation, proposing a technology-driven operational model for PLS. The implications include regulatory reform, human resource development in Islamic finance, and strategic alignment with global efforts to build a more inclusive and resilient financial system.
