The Journal of Indonesian Tourism and Policy Studies (JITPS) covers tourism studies, recreation studies and policies related to their development in Indonesia. The expected research can also include studies on Indonesian tourism related to social, cultural, economic, political, management, health, environmental, technology, policy, etc. issues. The aim is to achieve the objectives of the Indonesian Journal of Tourism and Policy Studies, namely as a portal and instrument for the development of tourism science in Indonesia from various aspects and perspectives. Therefore, not only as paper-based-field-research, this journal will become a portal for tourism implementation studies and related literature reviews.

Abstract

The great potential of music tourism has not been optimized in Indonesia. Meanwhile, music tourism is increasingly becoming one of the forms of new economic growth. The growth of music festival from year to year has also made the Indonesian people, especially the younger generation, make music as one of their needs and lifestyles. The number, diversity, and popularity of music festivals in Indonesia have grown tremendously. That’s why Indonesia needs to encourage tourism potentials, one of which is the potential of music festivals that plays a role in creating city image and city branding. This study seeks to see the potential of music tourism and the role of music festivals for city branding. This research is using descriptive methodology seeks to contribute to the development of tourism in Indonesia, by exploring a special interest in tourism, namely music tourism, which is still a new formula in tourism in Indonesia. In addition, it seeks to see the best practices of music festivals in several countries that have succeeded in building the image of the city. Then the DOT-BAS-POS brand and marketing strategy can be used for the creation and development of music tourism in Indonesia. Through this research, it is hoped that the city government, community and society, the tourism sector and universities can work together in the future to encourage and drive music tourism in various tourist destinations in cities in Indonesia by combining natural beauty and music festivals.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the performance of tour guides serving visitors and identify the obstacles that exist in the implementation of tour guide activities at the TMII West Sumatra Pavilion. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by means of interviews. observation, and literature study. The results show that the performance of the tour guide in serving visitors is still lacking in terms of discipline, appearance and suitability of working hours, so it can be concluded that the performance of the tour guide does not meet the requirements in the context of excellent service. The unavailability of local tour guides who master foreign languages, making foreign visitors who are not accompanied by a tour leader or tour guide can only enjoy the existing art props without a detailed explanation by a tour guide, and Tour Guides at the West Sumatra Pavilion, the attention, attitude, and action given to visitors are still not optimal. This research contributes practically to the service of tour guides at the TMII West Sumatra Park.

Abstract

Today's social media is used for various needs. Its nature is easily accessible and can penetrate space and time, making social media the main platform for sharing information or even selling products. Along with the massive use of social media, currently, users can not only use social media as an information-sharing platform but can also monetize their accounts through a variety of content that is presented. In recent years, the world of social media, especially YouTube, has been quite busy with content owned by monetized wildlife by public figures and celebrities. Wild animals are defined as animals or animals that live in the wild without human intervention. Monetization of wildlife content has the potential to persuade audiences to do the same. This study highlights the phenomenon of monetization of wildlife through content on social media, especially YouTube, which is rife in Indonesia. Through a qualitative study of literature and observation, this study will present information related to the monetization of wildlife through social media content in Indonesia and its impact on the sustainability and welfare of wildlife in Indonesia.

Abstract

The existence of the tourism sector is closely related to the SDGs or Sustainable Development Goals (sustainable development). The number of tourist visits is one element that can ensure an increase in the economic contribution of tourism. Researchers are interested in knowing the analysis of Hok Lay Kiong temple tourist destinations in Bekasi City using the theory of attractions, accessibility, amenities and ancillary and their impact on local residents. The method applied in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. Research shows that accessibility to get to Hok Lay Kiong Temple can be reached easily by using the K02, K05, P9BT, TP-1 bus or using the BEKASI LINE train. Attractions or performances at the Hok Lay Kiong Temple are celebrating the Chinese New Year, Capgomeh celebrations, bad luck rituals carried out on the Bekasi River and hitting the drum, playing at the beginning of the month (full moon) and at the end of the month (small moon). And the last one is ancillary at the Hok Lay Kiong Temple, namely there is a vehicle parking area, prayer room, bathroom / MCK, lodging and many others. The impacts that can be felt by residents around the Hok Lay Kiong Temple include economic growth for local residents, the surrounding community becomes more open and respects the beliefs of others, eliminates negative prejudices against a certain ethnicity, cross-cultural awareness that can increase mutual understanding and respect. understand from different cultural backgrounds.

Abstract

As a big archipelago country Indonesia have many of tourist destination and attraction from east to west in whole over the archipelago. As much of its islands Indonesia have tourist destination which from nature give or even by human made. Tourist destination become one part that contain within one tour package that must visited by the tourist. Tourist must spend money to visit tourist destination and the cost will be different among them. From June until August there are few cases mentioned about increasing tourist destination entrance fees in several provinces and once become polemic among Indonesian citizen such entrance fee to Borobudur temple in Central Java and Komodo Island in East Nusa Tenggara. This polemic will become a bad image for Indonesia tourism views in foreigner and have multi flyer effect in economy and social life around tourist destination that already settled before.

Abstract

The Energy Transition is an effort to shift the use of fossil-based energy to non-fossil energy. Fossil-based energy is proven to cause pollution to the human environment. Meanwhile, non-fossil energy does not only have a positive impact on natural life so that it can have an impact on the tourism aspects of a region or country. This paper attempts to describe how the energy transition process is carried out and its relation to tourism in a region. The type of research carried out is qualitative research which originates from various secondary data both in the general media and in certain journals. As a result, clean and healthy air conditions will have a positive impact on the world of tourism in general

Abstract

In this era of globalization, competition in all fields is increasing, requiring companies to have high competitiveness. There are various ways to advance the company, one of them by carrying out business trip activities. PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia has SOP for business trip flows to run effectively and efficiently. The Human Capital Group is one of the work units involved and has an important role in business trip procedures. The purpose of this paper is to determine the role of the Human Capital Group in the flow of business trip procedures and determine the advantages and disadvantages as well as obstacles and solutions that exist in these procedures. The method used for data collection is the interview method to several Human Capital Group staff who play a role in business trip procedures. The author also links the role of the Human Capital Group to the theory of the function of the human resources department according to Hendry Simamora (2006) in (Sembiring, 2010, pp.9-10). Based on the results of data collection and information, it was concluded that the Human Capital Group had carried out its duties and roles well, but there were some shortcomings and obstacles in the business trip procedures. The author also provides suggestions that are expected to be useful for the company, such as system integration, use of the system through smartphones, and others.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the number of tourists in 30 countries. The research method used is quantitative.The research data is secondary data. The research unit is in the form of 30 countries of observation. The research variables were measured in three years of observation, namely 2018, 2019 and 2020. The variables used were the number of tourists (people), the currency exchange rate of tourist countries against the rupiah, GDP per capita, population density, visa-free visit, consumer price index, life expectancy, economic growth and imports. The results obtained are that the factors that influence the number of foreign tourists visiting the observation countries in 2018 to 2020 vary depending on the area of the observation country. Countries with the number of foreign tourist visits influenced by population density and imports are Malaysia and Singapore. Countries with the number of foreign tourist visits influenced by economic growth and imports are China and South Korea. Countries with the number of foreign tourist visits that are influenced by import factors are countriesBangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Burma, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam. While the rest are not influenced by any factor in the model with a 90% confidence level.The Geographically Weighted Panel Regression (GWPR) model that has been formed is appropriate and has a significant difference compared to the panel regression model due to the location effect which also significantly influences the number of foreign tourist visits to the observed countries. The model has an adjusted r-square value of50.84874% which means the model is able to explain the variance of the number of foreign tourists visiting50.84874% only by variablepopulation density, economic growth, and imports. Meanwhile, the rest is influenced by other variables outside the model.

Abstract

The spread of Covid-19 at the end of 2019 from one region to another region, until spreading all over the world. In March 2020 WHO deciding Covid-19 as pandemic. The spread of Covid-19 through droplets because of that goverment decides crowds rectriction. Various fields aver the world adapting to this pandemic. Goverment through Kemenparekraf (Indonesians Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy) compiling manual guidebook that regulates various activities. The guidebook contents about CHSE guide. This guide is mandatory to all restaurant. The implementation of CHSE affects guast from all aspects. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing CHSE on guest satisfaction pasticularly at Mie Gacoan Tegal. The research method used quantitatif study with incidental sampling technic. Data collection using questionnaire and analyzed using simple regression analysis. The result of this study found that implementing CHSE has a positive effect on guests satisfaction. Researcher suggestion for restaurants management is to consisten appliying CHSE and always updating about Covid-19.

Abstract

The Purpose of this study to determine the efforts that can be made to increase the number of visitors to the Pasar Baru area, Central Jakarta because this area has a lot of tourist attractions that can be managed properly, that can become an attractive attraction in Pasar Baru area and also this area is full supported by the local government, which is always trying to develop tourism potential in Pasar Baru area. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection was done by interview, observation, and literature study. This research activity was held from January -June 2021. Based on the results of research in the field that Pasar Baru area has various kinds of tourist activities that can be enjoyed by tourists such as: shopping, sight seeing, enjoying historical buildings, taking pictures and others. To make Pasar Baru as one of the tourist destinations of choice, the local government already has a planning for the development of the Pasar Baru tourist destination in the form of a revitalization plan for Pasar Baru area. Have to buils a good collaboration from all elements such as: business people, media partners, academics and the public who participate in the development of Pasar Baru Area as a one of favorite tourism destination in Central Jakarta.
