Abstract

In the Merdeka curriculum, local history is one of the essential materials. One of the most critical periods in local history in Malang is the cultuurstelsel period, but currently, there are no teaching materials about this period. HIMO is a printed local history module about the cultuurstelsel period with media integration that allows students to various conditions (regular and inclusive). This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of HIMO in improving local history understanding and learning motivation. This research method is R&D using the ADDIE model. In the analysis stage, the researcher analyzed student needs and the curriculum, which was continued with the design stage. In the development stage, HIMO was declared very feasible by material experts (average score of 98%) and teaching materials experts (average score of 89%) with several revisions. Furthermore, the implementation stage was carried out in an inclusive school in Malang (101 students as subjects) with research instruments in the form of comprehension tests and learning motivation questionnaires. Based on the implementation results, it was found that HIMO can improve understanding (94% of students) and learning motivation (average score 77%). Based on these results, at the evaluation stage, HIMO was declared suitable as local history teaching material for inclusive schools.

Abstract

Abstract

The financial literacy index of the Indonesian population has increased, yet cases of illegal online loan scams and fraudulent online transactions remain high due to low financial literacy. This study analyzes the financial literacy index of MSME 4.0 entrepreneurs in Tebing Tinggi City and its determinants to support the formulation of appropriate policies. The examined variables include education level, age, business turnover, and gender. Primary data were collected through questionnaires from 100 MSME entrepreneurs using e-commerce and social commerce platforms. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that the financial literacy index of MSME 4.0 entrepreneurs in Tebing Tinggi City is relatively high (82.26 percent). Education has a positive and significant effect on financial literacy, while age and business turnover have a negative and significant effect. Gender has a positive but insignificant effect. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of improving access to financial education, particularly for older entrepreneurs and those with higher business turnover, to enhance their understanding of modern financial technology.

Abstract

Impulse purchases in the digital marketplace are increasing, but the relationship between attitudes towards money, openness to experience, and hedonic shopping motivation has not been studied in an integrated manner. This study aims to analyze the effect of attitudes towards money and openness to experience on impulse purchases, with hedonic shopping motivation as a mediating variable. This research refers to the Theory of Planned Behavior and the Five Factor Model as a theoretical basis. Using a mixed method sequential explanatory approach, quantitative data was collected from 115 marketplace respondents in Jabodetabek and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The qualitative stage was conducted through interviews with 8 informants. Results show that attitude towards money has a significant effect on hedonic shopping motivation (t = 2.491; p = 0.013) and impulse buying (t = 3.917; p = 0.000), but the mediation effect is not significant (t = 1.108; p = 0.268). In contrast, openness to experience had a significant effect on hedonic shopping motivation (t = 4.291; p = 0.000) and impulse purchase (t = 2.395; p = 0.017), and was significantly mediated by hedonic shopping motivation (t = 2.041; p = 0.042). These findings provide strategic implications for digital marketers in developing campaigns based on consumer psychological characteristics. Limitations of this study include sample size and geographical scope.

Abstract

The rapid global expansion of Islamic banking urgently necessitates robust fiscal policies and regulatory frameworks, particularly in leading Muslim-majority economies like Indonesia and Malaysia, where their long-term sustainability and competitiveness are critically dependent on effective governance. This study addresses a critical gap by providing an in-depth comparative analysis of the fiscal policy and regulatory frameworks in enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of Islamic banking in these two countries, focusing on underlying issues that justify this comparison. Employing a qualitative, interpretivist comparative case study approach, data were collected through comprehensive literature reviews, in-depth analysis of key policy documents (Indonesia’s Law No. 21 of 2008 on Islamic Banking, Malaysia’s Islamic Financial Services Act 2013), and secondary data from financial authorities. Thematic content analysis was used to compare their approaches systematically. The findings reveal that both countries have strategically employed tax incentives, liquidity measures, and legal oversight to foster sectoral growth. Indonesia with a multi-agency framework, rooted in Law No. 21 of 2008, demonstrates a strong commitment to Islamic principles but grapples with regulatory overlaps and operational inefficiencies. Malaysia with centralized approach, anchored by the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 and guided by the Shariah Advisory Council, has contributed to global competitiveness. The findings also highlight key policy challenges, including regulatory fragmentation, Shariah compliance in fintech integration, and limited technical capacity, and offer actionable recommendations to strengthen financial inclusion, institutional resilience, and the long-term sustainability of Islamic banking in both jurisdictions.

Abstract

Stunting a critical nutritional issue affecting toddlers in low- and middle-income countries like Indonesia, leads to significant economic losses through reduced productivity, increased healthcare costs, and diminished human resource quality. This study explored how factors such as defecation behavior, drinking water sources, and maternal handwashing habits influence stunting in the Brand Health Center area of Karo Regency. Findings revealed that toddlers aged 0-3 years were predominantly affected by stunting, with 100% of the stunting group showing underweight issues. While gender did not significantly impact stunting rates, nutritional status was severely compromised in the stunting group compared to the control. Maternal income was a notable factor, with lower income linked to higher stunting rates, although maternal education and working status did not show significant correlations. Larger family size and poor sanitation practices were more prevalent in the stunting group, as were unqualified drinking water sources. Handwashing with soap was slightly more common in the non-stunted group but did not significantly affect stunting rates. These results underscore the need for a comprehensive approach to improve clean water access, sanitation, and handwashing practices to address and reduce stunting in affected areas.

Abstract

Tourism marketing trends increasingly utilize short videos to foster travel inspiration and drive travel intention. This study specifically examines the influence of presenter appeal, video design appeal, content vividness (as a new construct), and destination attractiveness on travel inspiration and its impact on travel intention. Furthermore, this study examines the mediating role of travel inspiration and openness to experience. Data were collected through an online survey of 522 respondents using purposive sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), chosen for its ability to test complex models exploratively. The results showed that presenter attractiveness (β = 0.282; p < 0.001), video design attractiveness (β = 0.116; p = 0.019), content vividness (β = 0.118; p = 0.014), and destination attractiveness (β = 0.334; p < 0.001) significantly influenced travel inspiration, which in turn influenced travel intention (β = 0.461; p < 0.001). However, the moderating effect of openness to experience was not significant. These findings provide practical implications for tourism marketers to optimize the design of engaging, clear, and inspiring short videos to increase travel intention. Limitations of the study include the use of perceptual data and a single sample. Future research is recommended to examine additional factors and cross-cultural contexts.
