Abstract

This article discusses the important role of managing emotions and mood in increasing employee productivity and creativity in the work environment. In the midst of increasingly fierce global competition and rapid technological developments, companies are required to maintain optimal performance in order to compete. Employee performance is influenced by a number of elements, including their ability to control emotions and moods. Emotions and mood affect a person's performance, creativity, and productivity in addition to their interactions with other people. Workers who are adept at controlling their emotions, especially emotions of happiness, satisfaction and enthusiasm, will be more involved, innovative and productive at work. On the other hand, negative emotions such as stress, anger and frustration will interfere with motivation and focus, causing emotional dissonance, which results in decreased performance. Therefore, companies must pay more attention to employees' emotional health by providing emotional intelligence training and fostering a positive work atmosphere. Companies can increase productivity and foster sustainable creativity, both of which are very important, by implementing appropriate emotional management strategies in the current era of the industrial revolution.

Abstract

This article discusses the application of passive and active judge principles in the process of civil procedural law evidence in Indonesia. The principle of the passive judge emphasizes neutrality and objectivity, where the judge only considers the evidence presented by the parties. However, this approach can result in decisions that do not reflect substantial truth, especially in complex cases. On the other hand, the principle of an active judge allows judges to gather additional evidence and expedite the dispute resolution process, but it also risks creating bias. This research uses the juridical-normative method to analyze the interaction of both principles in legal practice, with the hope of providing insights into the dynamics of their application and its implications for the quality of law enforcement.

Abstract

The trial process aims to produce a decision that resolves disputes. In civil cases, individuals may face opponents they do not know. Civil trials often involve personal issues that cannot be resolved amicably. Many middle- and upper-class individuals resort to court proceedings, whether dealing with disputes involving family members or unknown parties. When facing wealthier opponents, individuals from lower economic backgrounds are often at a disadvantage. Although the opposing party may be guilty, they can fund the court process using their assets, leaving the less privileged party vulnerable and in need of legal protection. This creates an imbalance, where the law seems to favor the stronger party, undermining fairness in civil procedural processes. If the law were equitable, it would foster justice, ensuring the process is not perceived as biased by the public or the parties involved, reducing sensitivity surrounding legal outcomes.

Abstract

Termination of employment (PHK) is often a complex issue, especially when a company is closed due to losses or liquidation. Based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 35 of 2021, workers affected by layoffs are entitled to receive compensation including severance pay, long service pay and compensation for rights. However, the implementation of granting these rights often faces obstacles when the company concerned has stopped operating. This research aims to examine the provisions for providing severance pay in situations where the company is closed according to PP 35 of 2021 and analyze the obstacles that occur in the case of Decision Number 183/Pdt. Sus-PHI/2017/PN.Mdn. Based on this case study, various obstacles were found, such as the company's inability to fulfill its obligations due to limited assets, legal uncertainty in resolving disputes, and time-consuming legal processes. This condition exacerbates uncertainty for workers who have lost their livelihoods. Through this research, it is concluded that although legal regulations have provided a clear basis regarding workers' rights, practical challenges in implementation still require serious attention. It is hoped that this study can provide recommendations for stakeholders to create more effective and fair mechanisms in resolving similar employment conflicts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors influencing the transformation of governance systems in majority-Muslim countries, focusing on the relationship between history, religion, and socio-political contexts in shaping the diverse governance systems. The political dynamics in majority-Muslim countries reflect the variety of governance systems influenced by historical, religious, cultural, and geopolitical factors. Some countries like Indonesia, Tunisia, and Senegal have successfully built full or transitional democracies, enabling active public participation in decision-making processes. In contrast, countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates maintain autocratic structures based on Sharia law as the basis of legitimacy. The method used is qualitative research with a library research approach, where various sources of information such as books, academic journals, and official reports are reviewed to understand the differences in governance systems from democracy to autocracy. The results of the study show that, despite the diversity in the application of governance systems, many Muslim-majority countries are striving to manage power while responding to social, economic, and public needs, either through fair elections or socio-economic reforms. This research is expected to provide insights into the challenges and opportunities in the journey towards stable and inclusive governance in majority-Muslim countries.

Abstract

With the development of the times, more and more people are more aware of their appearance. Using skin and hair care products is one way to support your appearance. Therefore, this study aims to analyze harmful substances that are often found in cosmetics, such as retinoic acid, hydroquinone, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), as well as examine their impact on health. Qualitative descriptive methods are used to analyze data from secondary sources, including scientific journals, government regulations, and related books. The results of the study show that retinoic acid, which is commonly found in acne ointments, has the potential to cause skin irritation and other health problems if not used under medical supervision. Hydroquinone, which is widely found in face lightening creams, although effective for brightening the skin, can cause risks such as ochronosis and irritation. SLS, which is widely used in cleaning products such as shampoo, can cause irritation in people with sensitive skin. In conclusion, the use of these ingredients should be done carefully and according to medical recommendations to avoid dangerous side effects. This study also suggests choosing products that are safer and do not contain these harmful ingredients.
