Abstract

Reading Park in the community is one of the important instruments to support community's need for information and knowledge. This dedication activity aimed to pioneer the development of Reading Park in the hamlet of Druwak. This Reading Park contained a collection of books that could be accessed by the public and had been classified based on its subject. This Reading Park was expected to help the community, especially children and parents in Druwak hamlet, to realize the community of Druwak who like reading, so as to open the perception and orientation of thought towards literacy education.

Abstract

Children with special needs require individualized learning services based on the problems they have. Teachers are required to have sufficient capacity in providing services to children with special needs, the services given must be different from the children in general. Especially in designing learning, teachers should accommodate the needs of the team teaching. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Badrussalam Surabaya is a relatively new pioneering school of inclusion, so the teacher needs to be strengthened with intensive mentoring capacity. As a result, the concept of curriculum integration, lesson plans integration, and the integration of three components of teachers, special assistance teacher, classroom teachers, and subject teachers, who have been assisting children with special needs students can establish more intensive communication and collaboration and mutually reinforcing between one and Others. Teachers provide constructive feedback on the best interests of providing the best service for the students of children with special needs. Each teacher has already felt that the students with the special needs are a shared responsibility, unable to grow only to classroom teachers or Children with special needs only.

Abstract

This research aimed to change the behavior of Open Defecation Free (ODF) through Total Sanitation Program of Community-Based. Through Community-Based Research (CBR) approach, it was possible that participatory researchers with communities and partners (stakeholders) preparing plans, conducting and evaluating research results. The results showed that the success of the program was determined by the level of Community participation in the planning, implementation, evaluation and until program sustainability. This was shown by the emergence of Community awareness to change the behavior of Open Defecation Free (ODF) and independently able to solve the problem of sanitation based community by building the decent toilet facilities in participatory. Changing in Open Defecation Free (ODF) behavior through Total Sanitation Program of Community-Based was strongly influenced by the availability of sanitation, the support of all parties, and the changing in the community's understanding of ODF. Total Sanitation Program of Community Based-participatory-based was very effective against the effort to change the behavior of defecation carelessly.

Abstract

Media has an important role in the learning process of early childhood. Media can be used as a tool to facilitate learning process to be effective and eficient. This program is done at Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Al- Masithoh and Raudhatul Athfal Miftahul Ulum, both are located in Sukosono, Kedung, Jepara. The objectives of this program are: (1) to develop the creativity of RA teachers on creating instructional media; (2) to increase the knowledge and skills of RA teachers on learning media, called softbook; (3) to improve the linguistic intelligence of students using bilingual softbook as a learning medium. The methods used are education, training, education, and practice. The results of this program are: (1) the output or product in this program is a softbook (buku bantal) made from spons ati as the basic material. It is related to RA theme with bilingual concept (Indonesian and English) and (2) schools could practice of making the bilingual softbook according to the stages started from drawing, painting, writing, sticking, decorating , sewing, and the last is finishing.

Abstract

The number of Indonesian women entrepreneurs is increasing, including women entrepreneurs in West Java. But the obstacles faced include not getting an education to do marketing; one solution is marketing using online media. This was overcome through online marketing literacy for women entrepreneurs, especially in West Java. Electrical Engineering Study Program, Universitas Kristen Maranatha in collaboration with the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Office of West Java Province and Online partner has increased capacity in the form of online media use literacy. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), namely participants were given lectures, training, practices, discussions, and questionnaires directly. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) is a step in a community or social group scientifically resolves their problem by conducting direction, improvement, and evaluating decisions on the steps they take. There are six steps in Participatory Action Research (PAR), namely critical reflection, critical dialectics, resource collaboration, risk awareness, plural structures, theory, practice, and transformation. From the results of the questionnaire, it was found that the participants' abilities improved from before the training. Participants felt that this workshop was very useful and useful, which was around 90%. This indicates that the workshop was successful and beneficial for the participants

Abstract

Kelurahan Pegirian merupakan salah satu daerah di bantaran sungai yang terletak di Kecamatan Semampir, Kota Surabaya. Kelurahan ini tidak memiliki tempat untuk menampung sampah yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat, sehingga sebagian besar dibuang sembarangan di sungai. Program pemberdayaan ini mengacu pada Teori Dignan, yaitu analisis masalah, penilaian target, pengembangan program dan implemetasi serta evaluasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan khususnya di RW 04/RT 09 Kelurahan Pegirian. Hasil analisis masalah, prioritas masalah dan alternatif solusi didapatkan bahwa masyarakat tidak mempunyai tempat penampungan sampah dan membuang sampah di sungai, sehingga perlu diadakan program Bank Sampah. Program bank sampah mengundang orang untuk menyelamatkan limbah mereka dengan memegang prinsip 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Tujuan dari program bank sampah ini adalah memberdayakan masyarakat untuk mengelola limbah mereka melalui bank sampah dan mendapatkan penghasilan tambahan. Manajemen bank sampah Pegirian telah dibentuk dan hingga kini memiliki 24 anggota. Diharapkan masyarakat akan lebih aktif mengikuti bank sampah sehingga jumlah anggota akan terus meningkat.

Abstract

Self-medication (swamedikasi) is one of the ways that many people do to overcome the symptoms of the disease before getting help from the health center. Magersari village has 13 hamlets (RW) with a total population of 7.728 society and has the advantage as the hometown of family planning (KB). Most large residents in kampung KB magersari consume traditional drugs without knowing the appropriate doses. It supports the activities need of devotion is that people rationally in taking conventional medicine. The purpose of this service is to increase knowledge and skills about the use of plants environment around that have potential as a drug of mothers in kampung KB, magersari, Magelang. The method used participatory rural appraisal (PRA). The activity was carried out for three months by socialization to the head of kampung KB. Besides, a series of FGD activities, an increase of community capacity of kampung KB through training and practice to assist in implementing therapy swamedikasi. As a result, KB members received additional information about the properties and functions of Indonesia's natural plants partly already presented in the form of pocketbooks and presentations that can be used as one of the sources of information for swamedikasi. Besides, they were able to implement swamedikai to exploit and use traditional medicine through still in a simple form.

Abstract

Official data from the National AIDS Commission (KPA) showed that East Java ranks 2 (two) for most HIV. Whereas Pasuruan Regency was ranked as number 2 (two) the most cases of HIV and AIDS from all Regencies in East Java with 984 cases starting from 2000-2016. The majority of HIV cases were dominated by productive age (adolescents) between the ages of 20-29 years, the number of which reached around 300 people or around 32%. of the total HIV cases in Pasuruan Regency (KPA data of Pasuruan from 2000-2016). While in terms of data on HIV distribution by region, Prigen Subdistrict was ranked first with 82 cases. Responding to the issue, the role of the Faith Based Organization (FBO) was based on youth through the active role of Young Relegious Leader in Prigen Pasuruan was very encouraged to participate in HIV & AIDS prevention especially in adolescents. To support and strengthen the role of FBO in prevention of HIV and AIDS through efforts: to increase capacity building and knowledge of young religious leader on HIV and AIDS in medical and religion perspective, strengthening communication skills in social campaigns through the use of video blog media (VLOG), making HIV (AIDS) prevention materials (Modules) and building related partnership networks. The institutional strengthening of FBO was focused on Youth-Based FBO in Prigen Pasuruan which included Nahdlatul Ulama' (IPNU & IPPNU) Student Association, Muhammadiyah Youth Association (IPM) and representatives from Christian Youth in Prigen Pasuruan. Through strengthening this role, it was expected that the FBO would be able to prevent HIV/AIDS in members/congregations in their respective organizations in planned and independent manner. In addition, strengthening the role of FBO would also be a new movement of FBO in ​​Tretes Prigen area in taking responsibility for HIV and Narcotics issues in adolescents.

Abstract

Waste is still a problem in Indonesia. Because of waste, especially organic waste, contributes greatly to climate change due to greenhouse gases. In the management of waste that is generally open damping, particularly in Pasuruan, until now is still a problem that has not been unsolved. Therefore, the author will be presented in the study of implementation of integrated waste management based on IT and obstacles faced during the mentoring process. This mentoring activity was carried out at four Waste Banks based on community, schools, and youth in Pasuruan Regency with Community-Based Research (CBR) approach. The results showed that the various activities of Waste Bank application management mentoring based on IT gained widespread acceptance and appreciation from the Manager of Waste Bank in Pasuruan Regency. However, in the process of transition from Waste Bank management from manual-based until there was a change by utilizing IT required a process, time as well as the willingness of Waste Bank Manager, so that these applications could be fully utilized. In addition, the different types of community and management differences developed in Waste Bank also affected in the utilization of this Waste Bank Application to be applied continuously in their community.

Abstract

The abundance potential of Natural Resource (SDA) and Human Resources (HR) are still not providing a great space for the improvement of welfare for the mothers in Cantuk village, Banyuwangi. The data shown that most of housewives of Rampan Hamlet, Cantuk Village, were still many unemployed. However, on the one hand they had culinary skills in particular and traditional cuisine. Some culinary effort had been developed, one of which attempt to make banana, one of them was the banana chip business, but this effort did not last long because the product marketing was not maximized. From the background, through Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, mentoring housewives’ community in strengthening the capacity of traditional culinary product sales through “Jajanan Bengi Tombo Kangen” Bazaar. The results of this mentoring were able to mobilize the housewives who were members on Moslem Al-Hikmah Rampan Hamlet, and various Hamlet around Cantuk Village to initiate and realize traditional food marketing regularly. Through this Bazaar, variety housewives’ traditional products such as pancake, cenil, klepon, and other traditional food could be distributed and sold so well, as to increase their family's income from selling traditional food in "Jajanan Bengi Tombo Kangen" Bazaar.
